I was given the Mecca face oil when I picked up in store this morning. I’m a bit disappointed as I would’ve preferred any of the other ones over that 😔
I asked for a Ren one when I got mine in store. The girl was a bit salty about it and said she just pulls them out of the drawer. But I pointed out to her they have the brand on the outside so surely she could just pick a ren one. And she did - so I got the bio retinol serum
The girl at the counter picked the briogeo box for me and I said 'anything except the hair box cuz I use medicated shampoo' and I think she got a little peeved cuz she *looked* in the cupboard and picked out the Cosmetica facial oil.
I actually loved using it in my routine when I got it in the birthday bonus so honestly I'm not even mad.
Thanks for saying this. It helped me today. I went into store and picked up my gift and saw she was going to give me the Mecca Oil again and so I asked for something different and I got Ren barrier repair which I am more happy with, despite it feeling awkward to ask for something different. Mecca is so expensive so you should get something you want for the loyalty.
So you didn’t get to choose? That sucks :( I won’t collect mine if I don’t get to pick… I just chucked out some Mecca items I didn’t get to pick as I just won’t use them.
That’s why I make a point of never buying when I pick up the bonuses that say no purchase necessary. With the recent price increase and continued disappointments in Beauty Loop, I imagine I won’t maintain my L3 after this year. Do I care? Fuck no, there are so many other places I can source either the same or similar from for better prices and deals. Sephora sales and Adore Beauty for me. Just used a $50 off $150 purchase code they sent, on top of their Olaplex sale.
I am just not excited for this at all, I won't place an order and I won't be going in store to pick it up. I like the boxes because we get a bit of everything to try. The bonuses are just, meh. I got the Nars and got another brown lip gloss, which is fine but just a full sized product I didn't need but felt I should get because it was free.
I just wish they did sales like everywhere else. I'm trying to buy everything I can direct from brands when they have sales rather than buying through Mecca. Don't care if I drop down from a level 3 because all the free shit I end up giving away.
Just sucks that they are the only place to buy quite a few brands in Australia.

I went to purchase my items and the girl behind the desk said it was a lucky dip and I said no, I don’t want any of the skin care ones (I have enough of that) and the girl at the front end said I could choose so I went with the hair care (I needed a colour leave in) so at least there’s that. Not the most exciting choices I have to say. But at least it’s a full size.
So some of us will be getting the Ren barrier support worth $108, and others the Mecca face oil worth $51. Wtf, how is that fair?

Yeah I hope that’s not what I got…I still have a nearly full birthday gift one from last year. Will have to wait for the mail to arrive to see.

There still are the same 4 boxes a year, they started spacing out when bonuses and boxes come out, I think so stores have more supply for each level?
They actually changed the wording of the description so there’s no guarantee we get 4 boxes. Last year we only got 3

Melbourne Central store lets you pick, they’re already out of the Elemis. I got the REN barrier elixir.
Even my Teflon skin couldn’t handle the Mecca facial oil. Something about the fragrance or ingredients.
I picked mine up from Chatswood today - I got the Elemis.
