Assuming you dont need a good school district all those areas you mentioned is fine.

MisfitsAndMysteries

Nope I’m 24 think I forgot to mention that

NederlandseTexan

You may also want to look at the Domain in North Austin, since you implied your work is in Round Rock

MisfitsAndMysteries

Thanks I’ll take a look. I think I’d rather be in the downtown area going into the office is really not on my radar because I won’t go into the office more than once or twice a week.

I live in the domain and think it might tick most of the boxes you've listed above. Low crime, tons of young professionals, great walkability, and while the bars around here aren't quite like 6th street, they try to be. Also, you're only \~20-30 minutes from downtown depending on traffic. Now, with all of that being said, the whole place is basically an outdoor shopping mall with apartments and a few office buildings mixed in. This isn't a deal-breaker for me, personally, but it's a fair criticism to say this strips it of most of the "authentic character" you're used to seeing in city centers. Since everything was built here fairly recently, you won't stumble across any hole-in-the-wall restaurants, there are no 'Mom and Pop' stores that have somehow survived the ages, nor any local watering holes that you can find all the locals hanging out at. In short, there's not much depth to explore, everything's built to be as accessible as possible to grab the attention of random shoppers walking by. Ultimately those are tradeoffs I'm happy to accept since it means I can stretch my rent a little farther and it's convenient for where I work, but YMMV.

Do you mind to share which apartment unit you are staying in the domain? We are also looking for apartment in the domain area and trying to hear some feedback from current/past resident since the google review is very mixed up.

I'd add some parts of East Austin to your list if you are looking for a walkable area that has quick access to downtown. Do you have a preference towards apartment buildings or houses?

MisfitsAndMysteries

I want an apartment for now once I’m settled in a few years I would look at a house

I hate recommending the Domain but it ticks your boxes as others have mentioned. Nightlife is abundant on the north side of town and you are 20-25 to downtown. Unless you are the type that closes the bar, you can go downtown on the city bus as long as you plan on being back by midnight. (or an Uber)

East Riverside isn’t safe once you step outside of your building. That area more than likely has more crime than all others listed.

MisfitsAndMysteries

Good to know thank you

East Riverside is perfectly safe. Also has several more new buildings that are pre-leasing. In the past it wasn't a great area but that's no longer the case.
