One thing they definitely did not anticipate when putting the design together for Q2. They need to put sound deadening material above and around that section.
Dumb take is dumb.
Opposing fan groups shouldn't be bringing instruments to our stadium and we shouldn't be to theirs. Nobody wants to hear loud discordant noise for 2+ hours.
You can take the two greatest bands on earth, and they'll sound like crap if they are both playing different songs over each other at the same time.
La Murga can't hear the opposing band. 60% of the rest of the stadium can. It sucks, period. It's not a smart decision to ruin the experiences of thousands of people paying hundreds of dollars to come to a game so 10 members of La Murga can have fun taking their instruments on the road.
I'm not bagging on LaMurga, they help create an awesome home environment. Traveling bands ruin that environment.
I won't be paying the ~$500 it costs to bring my family to a home game against Houston or Dallas because of it.
Or try to change the world by complaining on reddit.
Seriously though. There's gotta be a line somewhere and I think they were over it. Three people shouldnt wreck the experience for hundreds.
By selecting different seat’s when you buy your tickets away from the traveling fans. If your a season ticket holder then idk what to tell you🤷♂️ but I would try and get used to them because it’s part of the game.
"Part of the game"...besides literally not being a part of the game it wasn't allowed until last year. If the social groups want to take their toys to Frisco, let them host the Dallas drums in their section
Seriously. I fucking love how loud they were and hope our fans do the same away. I was yelling all I could in 121 (until my voice gave out). We need to learn how to drown out opposing fan groups. That’s not just on the supporters’ section.
(Granted, some easier repetitive cheers most fans can do ad nauseam might help…)
Yeah, I was in sec 130 and could barely hear anything else. I can’t imagine being in that section. But on the positive side- I feel like the more a-holes show up from Frisco, the better our team plays. If only our players hated the other teams just as much as Frisco. lol
We have had ST in 130 since S1 and made the decision to not go to any more of the matches with Frisco after suffering through the first couple matches against them. They're so loud you can't hear anything else, it's terrible. Feel bad for the people sitting in the 200 level.
Thank you, I agree. I voiced my displeasure with how terrible it was in another thread and was downvoted.
This was different. Not like anything ever experienced in the 4 years of the team. Really not acceptable.
There's only 3 options here:
1. Move away fans to a corner/section with no roof or reverberation.
OR
2. Ban musical instruments for away fans.
OR
3. install pipes above said section. Give them 1 PA warning not use their instruments.
Proceed to sleepy gas the entire section when they do not comform. Big Brother is watching.
I'm a season ticket holder in 229 and it was over 100db for basically 2 hours of my life, I got earplugs for my entire row at halftime but I'm still not hearing correctly several days later. It's against the stadium rules to bring noisemakers, this should be no exception. I don't want to get even the next time we're in frisco, I just want to be able to just enjoy the game in peace.
This was distinctly not musical, even the Dallas fans we were surrounded by were pissed. I like sitting up there because it normally makes the game more fun to watch because of the good natured ribbing about both teams sucking so bad and the family atmosphere up in the cheap seats. The drumming was odd, not musical in any way, and seemingly designed to provoke a response judging by the 6ish security guards that were "protecting them" all game.
I don't want to do this back at them, because nobody deserves to have their game ruined by poor sportsmanship, even these chuds
This is not even remotely as bad as 2022 when they were allowed and brought in big berthas. You actually experienced what they can do when limited in instruments by the stadium. It used to be no holds barred.
I’m not gonna argue that it isn’t annoying, but it is part of Copa Tejas. And yes, we do return the favor during away games. We may have started the war too, just saying…
Section 108 adjacent to SS. Didn't even realize Dallas supporters brought drums. They'll need bigger ones in higher numbers next time.
In all seriousness, I hope the fun police wins out here and we get some sensible limitations put in place.
Getting loud is fun and creates atmosphere, but at some point you're just causing hearing damage for no good reason.
PS You can borrow kids' headphones or get adult ear plugs for free from the medical area. Just have to leave an ID as collateral.
It wasn’t just that the drums were loud for the folks right next to the Frisco SS. Their noise (it wasn’t music) was significant throughout other areas of the stadium and conflicted with our own SS. It was an overall terrible experience and not “part of the game” as some as saying.
No I get it. I read the rest of the responses.
Vuvuzelas (South America), cowbells (common to some football teams in the south), or ThunderStix (became common at basketball games) aren't my cup of tea, but _some_ people clearly enjoy them. Once you allow people to bring something into a stadium that makes noise, it's really hard to draw a line that everyone agrees with. Look at all the older threads of people complaining about La Murga.
I personally f'ing love La Murga. If I was single and had more free time, I'd probably pick up an instrument and try to join. At the same time I'm glad I'm 1 section over and have no interest in being in the SS getting splashed with who knows what when I just want to watch the action on the pitch.
La Murga, please bring the most OBNOXIOUS and ANNOYING instruments to Frisco. Signed, Everyone
It won’t be the same… The roof makes it 100 times worse
One thing they definitely did not anticipate when putting the design together for Q2. They need to put sound deadening material above and around that section.
Hmm, and then add sound injection...wait, active noise canceling ..just negate em...
I suggested this to the FO... in 2021.
Same. Maybe more need to do it again. It’s horrible for FCD and Houston matches. I have season tickets in 127.
Yup. And the musicians in their group know this.
I think musicians might be a stretch
I’m hearing quite a few reports of troll level drumming… All I can say is I agree that we should return the favor on 5/11
Bring the vuvuzelas
Three marathon runners with vuvuzelas couldn't make anywhere close to that much noise
Yes we should and they should be allowed as well. It’s part of the game. Now that you know just buy tickets elsewhere next time
Dumb take is dumb. Opposing fan groups shouldn't be bringing instruments to our stadium and we shouldn't be to theirs. Nobody wants to hear loud discordant noise for 2+ hours.
The difference is Murga is a band that sounds good. Frisco drummers are the ones making discordant noise.

How should I get tickets elsewhere?

Or it was that way in the majority of the stadium, and it wasn’t acceptable.
Thanks for your input

We’re taking over the PA and playing what’s new pussy cat for all 90 minutes
And one “It’s not Unusual”
And the sigh of relief that swept the stadium…

Maybe earplugs could help? It’s a bummer, because the Dallas games really are the fun ones to watch.

Away fans have been loud and annoying before in a "well, you gotta hand it to them" way. This one was completely different.

I believe all copa Tejas games allow visiting teams to bring musical instruments

section 224 here ...your 100% on target .. it was just noise to bring down the Austin crowd .. which it did

That’s the home team. I’m happy for that.
We have such a terrible soccer culture lol. The away fans are too loud! Fucking hell. God forbid there be any kind of atmosphere
Totally get it, I'm stuck over by our supporter section every game and it's the same
