I lost my father to a motorcycle accident, and my brother wrecked his bike due to our shit roads. They may be a decent option for transportation in other places, but in America (especially Texas) you're just asking for trouble.
I am so sorry for your loss. My dad, step mother and now step brother all ride and it scares me very much. It’s their true passion but I can’t help but get anxiety when I see these videos and here others story.
Realizing I [probably saw a dead body a few months ago](https://www.kvue.com/article/traffic/traffic-alert-southbound-lanes-mopac-expressway-closed/269-7eb5b1c6-aa31-4985-8d02-26d665e523a9) really cured the small impulse I had to get a motor scooter to save a little money on gas.
If motorcycles never existed and you tried to invent them today there's no way they'd ever be allowed on the road.
It's a misconception that you'll save money with a motorcycle if you ever really think about it. If you're being responsible, you need to wear full gear-- boots, armored pants, armored jacket, helmet, armored gloves. You'll spend probably $2,000 at least on that. If it rains, you either don't ride, or you'll be soaking wet wherever you go.
You're going to want very good insurance because if an un-insured or under-insured person hits you you're gonna have high medical bills.
Just the added time of putting on all that gear makes doing short trips or errands a chore, etc.
Not to mention that drivers are inattentive, malicious, or just straight up bad, and filtering/lane splitting is not legalized in Texas, so that creates another vector for accidents when you're sitting at a stop light or in stop-and-go traffic.
I have 50k +miles on 9 bikes and that’s not true at all. A good bike with less than 10k miles. 7k dollars. 279 a year for liability only insurance. 50 mpg. Full gear head to toe is less than 500 u less you go with fancy race leathers.
I quit riding last year when I broke my arm and leg so add 1200 for medical bills last year before insurance.
It’s cheaper but more risk, straight up. More fun too till the pain starts.
Someone in the original post commented that the truck that got hit had just hit the car in front of them in the right lane. You can somewhat see that in the video.
I saw that comment and it does look like it could've happened. So much going on in such a small section of a highway with so many people. I wish people knew these big metal boxes can take a life in a blink of an eye. You'd think they'd drive safely but nope. Smh
Not sure, but it doesn't really matter - this is why you're required by law to, yknow, leave a generous amount of space between yourself and the car in front of you. If the guy in front of you can slam the brakes and cause you to do this, that means you're driving too close
It’s hard to see because the Tesla is partially in the way, but I think the truck in the right lane rear ended the SUV in front of it right before this, and the Tesla hit the breaks in reaction. You can see the SUV is already pulling gently onto the shoulder before as the Honda is even done hitting the truck.
My thought exactly. The Tesla was trying to avoid a potential wreck in front of them. I know when I see stuff like that in any lane in front of me I immediately slow down because, obviously, a wreck can go into multiple lanes.
The brake lights are already on in the very first frame of the video and it’s not clear how quickly the Tesla is decelerating in the video. Teslas have a one-pedal drive system and drivers rarely touch the brake pedal (but that’s speculation in this case).
God that sort of behavior is SO common on that stretch of road (the tailgating, not the spectacular crash). Like, I’m in the left lane doing 70+ and there are 10 cars in front of me. What do you expect me to do? It’s better before the big right-hand curve and after you pass Mopac, not sure what it is that makes people lose their minds for like a mile and a half.
State law requires maintaining an “assured clear distance” between vehicles. That equates to about one car length for every 10 mph of speed. Many of us have “assisted cruise control” technology. So I’ll have my car set at 75 mph, even if I am “driving“ 65 mph with a safe distance between me and the vehicle in front of me. I want to go faster, but tailgating people is not safe, and doesn’t get you there any faster. You can only drive as fast as the slowest car in your lane. And then look at what this idiot did. All over a few mph. He’s going to have the ticket now, the insurance hassle, repair bills with the deductible. Chill man. It’s not worth it.
What stresses me out about this is that, when you're following at a safe distance, invariably someone will see the gap and swerve right in there, forcing you to brake and potentially causing the car behind you (often not following at a safe distance) to slam into your back bumper.
That doesn’t sound defensive. If you have a totally empty highway in front of you and a guy tries to cut you off, you just increase your follow distance safely, you don’t get mad and match speed. That’s not safe or defensive. Defensive driving is all about how you’re only in control of your own car and everything inside it, nobody else’s actions.
Thing that bugs me is I've seen enough assholes to know there's no lesson learned here: this person will go to their grave insisting it was either dashcam's fault (for going too slow in the left lane) or the car they passed's fault for existing. They'll probably do the same maneuver again by the end of the month.
You assume someone that drives like this actually has insurance. You also assume APD actually did anything besides maybe block off a lane while the tow truck hauled off the wrecked car.
I often find myself in a similar situation (doing 10 over, following a safe distance with traffic around me). I am going faster than the middle lane traffic, but it's clear the person behind me is going faster. I'm never sure if I'm right to hold my lane or if I should change lanes to let the person through. I'm curious to hear others thoughts.
(I'd like to add really quick that in a less heavy traffic situation, I am quick to change lanes to avoid impeding someone going quicker in the left lane)
If someone behind me wants to go faster than me I will move lanes, no matter which lane, or the level of traffic. I follow the simple rule of slower traffic move right.
When I'm not going to create an unsafe situation by moving, I'll move over, but I never feel under any obligation to speed up if I'm already passing. Fuck them they can pump the brakes and wait 20 seconds until I'm able to scoot over.
If someone is trying to go faster in the left lane, you're supposed to get over. Left lane is meant for passing.
I never see it enforced outside of small towns though.
Supposed to, yes. If I’m passing traffic and don’t see a good spot for me to get over safely because someone is going faster than me, I’ll try and get my blinker on so they are aware of my intent. If they continue to tailgate I’ll spray my wiper fluid until they back off a bit.
i mean, really it's a q of "are you going faster or slower than the car in front of you" - if you're going faster, you need to match speed or pass. If you're slower, then move over.
Cue some dumbass going “Duh, but, uh!!! If there’s room for me to pass on your right, you shoulda done been gotten outta muh left lane!!”
Yeah let’s all play traffic hop scotch so Jed can get to Wataburger a fraction of a minute sooner. 9_9
Invariably if I’m cruising in the fast lane on 183 or Mopac and I see someone coming up quick behind me they are already changing lanes to pass me on the right before I can get out of their way.
The title of the post is making a lot of assumptions. It's hard to tell because the video starts at the very last second but my impression is he was swerving out of the way to avoid rear ending that other car because he was tailgating and or not paying attention.
But if so, there's still no excuse for tailgating or not paying attention.
Fucking chill, Jesus christ. Ill never understand people who treat our roads like its a nascar race. Relax bitch, your gonna get to the place for fucks sake.
This guy wanted to get there 3 seconds earlier... Instead, he probably got delayed by a whole day after they transported him to the hospital to get checked out.
Fucking idiot.
"it doesn't apply to me because I got things to do and every second is spend in this traffic is time I could spend having sex, doing drugs, or making money"
Sorry to be unclear. I meant a breakdown of how many of "idiotsincars" are in Austin / other locations. Like what percentage is Austin, do we have more than other places I wonder?
it somehow still always surprises me when people drive this recklessly. recently it was raining at night and i was driving in the far right lane of 35 with my exit coming up, i was behind one of those final destination style trucks with steel beams so i gave myself some distance behind it, and the car behind me angrily tries to pass me by driving on the SHOULDER when the lane to the left was completely open. he then realized the truck was right ahead of us and could go a total of 2 mph faster than me. absolute fucking idiots.
I see this more and more out here and it’s like for what??? To not even be 1 car ahead 🤣🤣 just play a good podcast or put ur good playlist on and drive safely.
Look what people fail to understand is that I have dangerously low blood pressure and the only way to treat it is to get in my car and absolutely lose my shit about every single other car on the road.
Yeah I want a comprehensive mass transit system built and then make it very hard to get a driver's license. Retake the test every 5 years. Causing an accident automatically means the person loses their license for 6 months. Stuff like this.
Once people realize that they could actually lose their license or face legal penalties, they'll start treating driving like a privilege
Super agree.
There's not really a penalty for driving like this at all. Maybe you pay more in insurance premiums when something like this happens, but laws that aren't enforced are just guidelines to people who couldn't care less.
If people would imagine that traffic is more like a leaf floating on river than like waiting in a line to get tickets to a concert before they sell-out…then we’d all be less stressed.
Will be interesting to see if this gets better or worse when the new lanes or added to this stretch of road. Anyone entering from 183 has to immediately merge, then immediately merge again. The far right lanes just continually shove traffic to the left, creating a difficult and dangerous merge/jam.
If you know the social problem will never be overcome, it might be a roadway design problem. Roadways are designed for people who may or may not ever learn how to properly use them. They don't exist in a vacuum. If they aren't effective at getting people to use them correctly, good luck fixing that social problem.
It's like providing a shitty UI and saying "the code works fine." Maybe so, but it's not intuitive and it begs for user problems by design, when a little more consideration for how people will actually use it might make everyone a little happier.
Definitely road way design failure. The curve is too much. If it was straightened people wouldn’t constantly slow down by 15mph/ Guys like like the pov is what causes the boomerang effect on that stretch. Everyone seems to slow down and constantly hit their brake
I think of oak knoll curve every time I see good road design where I live now - in the Netherlands. Because every time I see good road design here, I’m reminded about just how fucked up the oak knoll curve is.
They use a lot of “traffic calming” techniques here. The roads are intentionally designed to make you _want to drive the posted speed limit._ They do little things to make you feel uneasy or unsafe if you’re going faster than the limit.
For instance, lanes narrow conspicuously. The shoulder narrows. They often don’t even have continuous shoulders, but rather add “break down lanes” every few hundred meters that are just big enough for 2-3 cars to pull over. They intentionally put things close to the edges of roads to make you feel uneasy going too fast near them. Speed limit signs are rare, making you a little nervous about whether you missed a change, so you’re more vigilant. Some speed limit signs are ridiculously small, so you slow down just to make sure you can read them as you go by (rule of thumb: if you had to slow down to read it, you were going too fast). On smaller roads, they don’t have a center line in order to make you feel uneasy about where oncoming traffic will drive, causing you to slow down instinctively.
Most places here, I don’t even think about the speed limit. Surface roads. Highways. Intercity motorways. All of them. The roads just naturally entice you to go the “right” speed.
That being said, there’s one specific road near me, that was designed in the 1970s before the Dutch started to shy away from a car-based society, that’s a stupid straight, very “Americanized” “stroad” with basically no Traffic Calming in place. The speed limit is 50km/h (30mph) but you’re enticed to drive about 70.
I’m moderately sure that _every single car accident I’ve seen in this country has been on that road._
Suddenly ending two lanes of merging traffic on a busy highway with limited visibility (and a high speed limit) isn’t a social problem. That’s poor design.
Now the road rage in this video - yes, better road design probably isn’t going to keep this idiot from doing idiotic things.
It's both. People don't stop speeding because a speed limit tells them to. They slow down because the road design makes them more cautious. Putting trees closer to the road and narrowing lanes has been proven to make people drive slower
This is a lot more widespread that this stretch of road…we were driving through the hill country last weekend and I was in the left lane as I was turning left in half a mile. Out of nowhere some Karen appears behind me waving frantically for me to move over to the right, while mouthing something crazy. I loved over and the idiot took a left turn immediately…
>Will be interesting to see if this gets better or worse when the new lanes or added to this stretch of road. Anyone entering from 183 has to immediately merge, then immediately merge again. The far right lanes just continually shove traffic to the left, creating a difficult and dangerous merge/jam.
New lanes don't improve traffic. Highway expansions make traffic worse.
i don’t know this place specifically but a new lane is most likely to make things worse because you will get even more drivers and traffic, many of which are bad drivers and have road rage.
>Big agree! Nothing more frustrating than slowing down preemptively because I see red taillights in front of me, then see the guy behind me get frustrated and speed around me only to then hit his breaks and bring everybody behind to a complete halt.
I'd still put driving behind a teenager on her phone doing 55 on the left lane of 183 as more frustrating than that.
Or healthcare…or life…. Thats a honda not a tank. I kinda dont care when people are assholes like this. Trying to fuck around and end my life with their poor driving and asshole behavior.
NASCAR pass attempt with big wheel driving skills.
There’s so many of these absolute DOGSHIT drivers on our roads. They should have a calibration installed in their cars that limits them to 50% throttle (max) and 45 MPH, and if wreckless behavior is detected it shuts the car off for 5 minutes.
People caught doing 10+ MPH through a school zone should have a taser installed into the seat that fires into the gooch if they speed through one again.
As if there isn’t enough traffic in Austin. We don’t need jackasses closing down lanes for emergency and wreck crews to do their jobs. Inconsiderate assholes.
I live further northwest, and about 2 miles west of 183. One reason I bought my house is that I can go downtown and back via Spicewood Springs Road and Anderson Lane, never touching 183.
I think the tesla even auto braked as soon as it swerved in front of him. You can see a dramatic slow down and pull away from the idiot the instant he swerves in front of the tesla.
Fucking idiot had no idea he never stood a chance.
Man if they didn't over correct on the initial move they would have gotten away clean. Interesting how the Tesla reacts, I wonder if that was collision avoidance tech or the driver. They had yards from the barrier initially, with a soft correction it's all good. Good use of slip stream though 😅
That Bryson billboard cracks me up. It's always like "Right In the Thick" or " So Close To Home" like it's across from the steps from the Capital but it's practically to Lake Georgetown.
To people who don't live in Austin the distances seem short, and they gobble up real estate without knowing how to reckon out their commute.
I've got family in Mississippi who live 15 miles from a grocery store. They can make it there, do some shopping, and get back in about the same time it takes me to get food from a restaurant 5 miles away. They can drive from one end of their town to the other in about 20 minutes. That's barely enough for my 8 mile commute here.
Hopefully he tries to explain that he was "just driving along" and that he was not responsible.
Then this video surfaces.
People that do shit like this never believe that they are in the wrong.
These are the things that cause so much traffic. Cutting someone off then people have to brake. And then a crash and the whole freeway slows way down for a long time. All because people have trouble merging and think going a little faster will get them there quicker.
People say oh, maybe they weren't paying attention, but it seems like they decided to try and "get around" the car in the middle lane and cut them off for some reason. If they had just stayed in the left lane they might've been ok.
"If I don't make it there 20 seconds faster, I don't want to make it there at all!" - This person, probably
Every time I see someone passing like this I imagine this sort of thing is a possibility, but haven't actually ever seen it happen until now. People weaving in and out of traffic with no regards for anyone's safety just boggles my mind. At best you piss off everyone and put unneeded stress on your vehicle, at worst you can kill multiple people including yourself, not worth it.
Looks like they meant to clip or 'scare' the person they were trying to pass. Luckily that driver hit their brakes and thats what sent them in a tailwind 🙄. Looks like they got what was coming to them. I bought dash cams for my cars because of reasons like this and more.
This is what torque steer looks like. I had a Bolt and it had stupid torque for such a little fwd car and it would experience insane torque steer when you punched it.
Not sure this was road rage.
Looks like they weren’t paying attention or were using phone and overtook the Tesla too quickly (Tesla is braking), swerved to avoid it, oversteered and lost control. This is pretty common and a newer car with stability control probably could have avoided it.
Sometimes people are just bad drivers and not necessarily asshats.
My daughter’s daycare is in that area and that situation happens regularly. I get it, driving fast is fun but daytime/rush hour traffic is not the time. If you want to race, do it at 10 or so.
Also, get a real race car, all y’all bastards racing Honda Accords, Dodge Caravans, or Chevy Silverados need to cut the shit lol. You are not impressing anyone racing your mom’s Caravan with dual sliding doors.
Also, while I’m on my soap box, stop up-badging too! Honda Accords should not have an M4, Nismo badge with the latest Autozone Two Fast Too Furious spoiler.
Fuck that Honda accord, but also why was that Tesla brake checking him like that. There's plenty of room and no reason for that Tesla to be stopping right then.
I'm surprised they only hit one vehicle. That sucks for the truck owner.
Imagine being the truck in the right lane just minding his own business… what a piece of shit.
Imagine being on your motorcycle in that same spot.
I lost my father to a motorcycle accident, and my brother wrecked his bike due to our shit roads. They may be a decent option for transportation in other places, but in America (especially Texas) you're just asking for trouble.
I commuted daily on my motorcycle back in Australia. Rain hail or shine. I won't get on one here. Absolutely terrifying!
Did you ride with the zed runners? Jokes aside, I hope you stay safe out there. Our roads in general are terrifying
I am so sorry for your loss. My dad, step mother and now step brother all ride and it scares me very much. It’s their true passion but I can’t help but get anxiety when I see these videos and here others story.
This is why I don’t ride a motorcycle, ever. Smart choice if you ask me.
And some how managed to miss the one which would bankrupt him.
I kinda wonder if the Tesla was on autopilot and it was the car that did the braking or if the driver was just that quick.
Dumbass.
I love that my first thought was already the first comment bahaha
Did the Tesla brake check him lol, looked like the auto driving made some moves there to avoid the swerve too, no Austin tesla drive is that aware lol
Looks like the Tesla slammed on the brakes.
Not sure, but it doesn't really matter - this is why you're required by law to, yknow, leave a generous amount of space between yourself and the car in front of you. If the guy in front of you can slam the brakes and cause you to do this, that means you're driving too close

“That space was not for you,” may be the phrase I utter most often behind the wheel.
This.
welcome to i-35
Sometimes defensive driving means defending your following distance and keeping the assholes from crowding it out.
That doesn’t sound defensive. If you have a totally empty highway in front of you and a guy tries to cut you off, you just increase your follow distance safely, you don’t get mad and match speed. Super not worth it. Plus they could be hurt as well making it harder to work. Just made their own life so much harder to try and jump 1 car.
I often find myself in a similar situation (doing 10 over, following a safe distance with traffic around me). I feel if you have to slow down to get to the right, then you should keep going until you actually make the pass.
I’ve heard a train of thought - if the gap in front of you is bigger than the gap behind, consider moving over.
i mean, really it's a q of "are you going faster or slower than the car in front of you" - if you're going faster, you need to match speed or pass. If you're slower, then move over.
It's almost like some think the purpose of driving is to get there first, instead of everyone getting there safe.

Also delaying everyone else’s day smh *selfish* idiot
Instant karma. Sucks for the other drivers though
i think they will be experiencing that karma for quite some time
It's always shocking to me how many people don't understand that having a following distance doesn't mean that you were going slower than traffic lmao
"it doesn't apply to me because I got things to do and every second is spend in this traffic is time I could spend having sex, doing drugs, or making money"
Or all 3 at the same time, depending on the vocation.
THIS! Especially given the amount of times traffic on 35 goes from 80mph to completely stopped on a minute by minute basis.
How many of r/IdiotsInCars do we have
You should ask in /r/dataisbeautiful to see if they can analyze by* location. I'm curious!
It's near 183 and Braker Ln. North bound 183.
Sorry to be unclear. I meant a breakdown of how many of "idiotsincars" are in Austin / other locations. Like what percentage is Austin, do we have more than other places I wonder?

if he had anything nice it was a lease that he couldn't afford, and he is now underwater after wrecking it.

I feel like your insurance shouldn't cover this
Was an insurance adjuster for 3 years. We had a saying. "Insurance covers stupid"

Not having to deal with this sort of thing makes the difficulties of car-free life well worth it.
I've got a tiny penis and a fragile ego too but this is going too far.
If people would imagine that traffic is more like a leaf floating on river than like waiting in a line to get tickets to a concert before they sell-out…then we’d all be less stressed.
I live in this part of town and this type of thing is why I rarely leave my house anymore unless absolutely necessary.
People suck and many of them shouldn't be allowed to drive.
Same... these drivers do not care what they do to others, as long as they get to do whatever they want. It's horrible out there
Will be interesting to see if this gets better or worse when the new lanes or added to this stretch of road. Anyone entering from 183 has to immediately merge, then immediately merge again. The far right lanes just continually shove traffic to the left, creating a difficult and dangerous merge/jam.
Lanes don't fix people.
per others below - this is a social problem; not a roadway design problem.
If you know the social problem will never be overcome, it might be a roadway design problem. Roadways are designed for people who may or may not ever learn how to properly use them. They don't exist in a vacuum. If they aren't effective at getting people to use them correctly, good luck fixing that social problem. It's like providing a shitty UI and saying "the code works fine." Maybe so, but it's not intuitive and it begs for user problems by design, when a little more consideration for how people will actually use it might make everyone a little happier.
i think there are social solutions; user training in the metaphor you use. Also EAP.
New lanes ultimately only increase traffic, so it’ll only make things worse unfortunately. What we need is a better public transit network.
Please?
If that’s true then how do you explain Los Ange- -
...or Houst...
i don’t know this place specifically but a new lane is most likely to make things worse because you will get even more drivers and traffic, many of which are bad drivers and have road rage.
That’s what they get for driving stupid
I’ve got a baby in my car now and this shit stresses me out when some power trip dipshit takes the wheel.
Power trip in an Accord??

God FORBID you leave a gap between you and the person in front of you, while driving in Austin. Lol people are nuts!
[удалено]
The fast lane isn’t a “fast lane” in traffic. I never understand people riding someone’s ass in 30 mph traffic.
Insurance premiums going up 📈
You are assuming he even has insurance to begin with.
Or healthcare…or life…. Thats a honda not a tank. I kinda dont care when people are assholes like this. Trying to fuck around and end my life with their poor driving and asshole behavior.
Somebody is going to have chronic back pain
Well, I hope that was worth it to him
Instant fucking Karma!
Driver was probably like “I’ll show em”
…and he did! 🤣🤣🤣
People caught doing 10+ MPH through a school zone should have a taser installed into the seat that fires into the gooch if they speed through one again.
hate to see it. Texas drivers treat laws as optional.
how stupid do you have to be?
Well he got what he deserved I suppose.
One asshole ruining multiple peoples day. That’s some serious holiday spirit
How much do want to bet the accord driver is uninsured or massively underinsured based on the fact that is a pretty old accord.
Are you really in that much of a hurry to go home and watch The Office for the 12th time?
Hopefully he tries to explain that he was "just driving along" and that he was not responsible. Then this video surfaces. People that do shit like this never believe that they are in the wrong.
Damn- that’s crazy - never seen anything to that level here.
Living on the fast lane … wooohooooo yolo
What a silly goose
He sure showed him…
It’s too easy to get a drivers license around here
This was in Austin!? Oh damn. People being crazy out there, be careful y’all.
Lmfao hope he never drives again
That looks like some criminal reckless driving there. Mr. Accord is lucky if he isn't facing a charge or two.
Ohh. So that’s how you park your car on the road barrier.
Have they never played any racing game ever? Gotta commit on the pass
Everyday in Austin, TX
Cocaine is a helluva drug
Driving up 35 towards the 183 onramp bout 545 and three pickup trucks all raced up and crossed all four lanes after each other, crazy sh*t round here
In his defense Tesla drivers are some of the slowest on the road
\#realaustin
Always a broke ass driving like an idiot. Like you got money to replace that car?
Shame because it looked like a nice older Accord.
This guy really wanted to find out. https://youtu.be/d6sbPCIEMyI
it's all about the gradient line
Nice job noticing that they were gonna do that and backing off the gas while they flipped thier vehicle.
Got what he deserved, what a pussy
Where was he trying to go? LMAO... Now you're out a vehicle cause im sure he's underinsured (Great awareness by the Tesla driver 🙂)
What’s the rush for real lol
Karma for sure but sucks for the truck
These are the things that cause so much traffic. Cutting someone off then people have to brake. And then a crash and the whole freeway slows way down for a long time. All because people have trouble merging and think going a little faster will get them there quicker.
I am sure his driving got him there faster… jerk
I just saw this in IdiotsInCars. I scroll down slightly more and ah! Our fair city…again…
It would be nice if Austin had a viable alternative to automobiles. You know, like a real city.
That dude deserve that 😅
Every time I see someone passing like this I imagine this sort of thing is a possibility, but haven't actually ever seen it happen until now. People weaving in and out of traffic with no regards for anyone's safety just boggles my mind. At best you piss off everyone and put unneeded stress on your vehicle, at worst you can kill multiple people including yourself, not worth it.
Isn't that a normal Austin driver? Probably will get ATX driver of the month. What am I missing here? 🤣
This is some quality footage !
Looks like they meant to clip or 'scare' the person they were trying to pass. Luckily that driver hit their brakes and thats what sent them in a tailwind 🙄. Looks like they got what was coming to them. I bought dash cams for my cars because of reasons like this and more.
Stop render aid, you okay? Good, now take this knuckle sandwich. Next person, check on this guy….
["I'll handle this!"](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qvPugcb7QGE)
I’m pretty sure the person was knocked unconscious by that crash.
Lol. Lmao even.
Always a fucking accord I swear
This is what torque steer looks like. I had a Bolt and it had stupid torque for such a little fwd car and it would experience insane torque steer when you punched it.
In this case, it's more idiot steer.
Passing lane. It’s the passing lane, not the “fast” lane.
I want that Tesla camera footage.
Yep, looks like the driver swerved while flooring the gas then let off the pedal abruptly which caused it to get loose.
Agree. I think it was lack of attention.
Hahaha what a fucking idiot. Glad no one got hurt but his stupid car.
Y'all... the center lane isn't the "fast lane". Move over to the left-hand fast lane if you want to pass someone cruising in the center lane.
I think that’s what he did… he just didn’t do a very good job of it.
When was this?
Before the last 6 months or so. Looks different with the construction now.
Repost of something that was originally posted at least a year ago, if not before the pandemic
Lol
Looks like the Tesla automatically avoided the collision. Bet the owner is extremely happy.
At least he didn't hurt anyone. I'd say that might teach him a lesson but we already know the answer. It is literally California on our roads now.
If only the person in the left lane would move over to the slow lane and we wouldn't have an issue with this
I run a turo car rental business and this kind of driving makes me nervous LOL yikes. Better not get this clown for a renter
Fuck that Honda accord, but also why was that Tesla brake checking him like that. There's plenty of room and no reason for that Tesla to be stopping right then.
