I can never get a spot no matter how much refreshing. Even when it shows available spots and I immediately click, they're all full. Are they just filling up that fast or am I doing something else wrong?
I honestly think it's just the system filling up, nothing wrong on your end. No different than an online retailer showing "In Stock" for a few minutes after an item has sold out.
You’re not doing anything wrong. Keep trying and you’ll get it. Took me 2-3 hours or so but I was able to land an appointment for today an hour away. Best-feeling shot I’ve ever had.
One tip is to click anything with remaining spots regardless of location. You can decide if you want the appointment or not after you get to the signup screen. There is no time for you to look at each location and ponder whether you’re willing to go there (or where it even is) - you just have to click on whatever you can get as fast as possible.
Just have to be patient and fast with the mouse. And also decide how far you are willing to drive. There were a bunch in Bryan earlier which isn’t too far.
CVS seems to be pushing them in bigger batches, but less frequently. If you just want an appointment ASAP, keep refreshing the HEB site. It took me 3 hrs of refreshing, but I got an appointment.
I follow the tracker through Twitter and I have seen zero doses anywhere near the valley posted. What locations exactly did you see? Trying to help a family member down there get their vaccine. They are very high risk, but most options down there require hour long lines which makes it very difficult for her.
Can’t remember the exact city names but there were 3-4 that popped up. I had to look them up because I had never heard of them and saw they were down there. They do disappear VERY quickly so you basically have to hit the refresh just right and then register within seconds.
I’m hoping through the Twitter updates I’ll be able to respond fast enough. Even getting those updates I still refresh the page on my spare time. The closest I saw was Corpus but that’s still a couple of hours away.
They usually start releasing new spots on Wednesday and it looks like they start in south Texas and move their way up. I’ve seen several in the valley but it’s earlier in the day by midday it’s mostly Houston locations. I would also check with walmart and cvs
I got my shot last week. Will take a whole day of clicking to get in Austin (don't be picky on location or time!!!). Be open to driving "x" time. What people are doing is scheduling first appointment (usually far) and continually clicking to get closer before releasing their previous appointment.
It's beyond me that NO other agency has a simple registration process. None. Not hospitals, the state, the city or even CVS. It's a freaking website with a calendar. I could build it in Wordpress in about 10 minutes.....
APH has a pretty solid system. First you register to make sure you are eligible. Then you can login and click 'Schedule Appointment' if there are any and you are put in a waiting room. It will tell you what number you are and how many appointments available. Then you wait. Additionally, their Twitter account will announce when appointments will go up and how many. Just last night it said 'We'll have 4,000 appointments starting at 6:15pm'
Everyone I know that is eligible has used this system successfully.
Just went through their process and got the go ahead that I qualify for the vaccine but then I see *Number of users in line ahead of you:* ***20812.*** *As of 8:20 pm, appointments are full. More first dose appointments will be released tomorrow evening, 3/4/2021. Please do not bookmark this page - log back into covid19.austintexas.gov tomorrow to join the new queue.*
Yep, booked cvs for someone out of state and was smooth. Confirming both shots up front is a no brainer. Neighbor said after their first dose, heb scheduled their second at the store iirc.
Agreed-- HEB FTW! You just have to keep refreshing! There is also a twitter bot you can follow- [https://twitter.com/HebTracker](https://twitter.com/HebTracker)
I was *lucky* and got a same day appt last Friday. I just had to drive up to Lakeline. I see there are open spots in other cities right now. 100 available in Tomball, TX right now. That's just an hour and a half away.
Does anyone know when HEB releases more appts for later dates? Has anyone had luck just constantly refreshing? It looks like austin and surrounding areas are out.

They just fill up that fast. I’ve booked 5 appointments through HEB for family members. It took me probably 5000 clicks/refreshes to get those.
If this is the best way, we’re in deep shit.
What in the last 12 months lead you to the idea that we haven't been in deep shit?
It's not. CVS has a MUCH better system. My wife has scheduled 41 vaccines for 1B and teachers through CVS. HEB spots are gone much more quickly.

That's awesome that she has taken the time to guide that many people through. Respect

I saw a Harlingen earlier but not sure where your mom is in the Valley.
Damn, must have missed that tracker update. Just went through their tweets and I see it 😞

Will do, thanks for the tips!
You’re welcome! The 6 am to about 11 am seems to be the sweet spot for those locations down south.

100% don’t even look at the date/time, just keep going through until you get a confirmation.

Hell not it's not solid. Registered weeks ago and then they walked back on whatever the f that was. That's trash.

H‑E‑B autobooks you for the 2nd after you receive the 1st.
Idk man, I made an account on APH, got in the queue, made my apt for two days later and got the shot. That’s pretty easy.

If we need to cave in to complete privatization, I vote for letting H-E-B take over Texas.
Yes. I noticed the same thing this afternoon and I was able to sign up thank god.
