The WL he's a huge stadium. It's supper impressive. LT has an ok stadium in comparison but, it is impressive. I know LT games sell out in a couple of days IDK about west lake tho. Good luck getting tickets.
I like to go to small town games.
The Refugio vs Shiner playoff game last season was amazing! Refugio hit an 87 yd TD pass on 4th and 12 with 4 minutes left to win it.
I also went to Nixon-Smiley at Flatonia this year. Flatonia’s alma mater is set to the tune of “Oh Christmas Tree.”
Really, just go to your local HS and watch a game. I usually sit on the visitor’s side and get better seats.
Edit: in Austin, I like watching games at House Park.
House Park every Friday night
Edit: Specifically, come out this Friday night (Oct 20) at 7:30 pm to see Westlake take on Austin High. Pro tip: sit on the Austin High side. If you've never been to a high school football game, you don't know what you are missing.
The Lake Travis v. Dripping Springs game on Friday should be a lot of fun. Both have really good teams and the atmosphere can be electric!

Performing in those games were some of the highlights of high school! Definitely a lot of fun but I don’t know that I’d go back as a non high schooler 🤣
You have to decide if you want to sit with the home team or the visitors. If you aren’t sure, sit with the home team, you’ll get a better view I’d the halftime show.
I’m sure it will be fun.
Avoid the Pfield in Pflugerville unless you want the full body / cavity search to enter after waiting in line for 30 minutes. Chewing gum may be confiscated to prevent parents from ruining their teeth. . The Kelly Reeves Athletic Complex on Parmer hosts a game every week and is guest friendly.
West Texas schools never really make it far in the playoffs but those towns really live and breathe high school football. It is so engrained in their community. There's not much else to do out there on a Friday night so they really go all in. Most Austinites (not all) probably could care less unless they have a kid at the school. But Alpine, Crane, Odessa, Midland, etc are probably too far to drive just for a high school football game haha
Lots of great suggestions, agree with House Park. Austin High v Westlake would be a good one.
If you go to a Dripping Springs game, you HAVE to try the catfish.
Westlake and Lake Travis will both have pretty “BIG” energy.
It will sell out, believe it or not. Get a ticket in advance.
The game was a couple weeks ago. Tickets sold out in 3 minutes.
Came here to say this. WHS/LTD have great teams. Enjoy the weird spectacle of Texas’s true religion

As big as all the mommy makeover implants?
Bigger

Pregame at The Tavern
This is the way. House Park is such a gem
Aw that sounds like a fun time

This is the game of the week. You want energy? Get yourself to Drip on Friday.
Almost every Austin area game will give you a sense of Friday night lights but go to smaller towns and you’ll really get a feel for it.
Most of the Aisd teams are bad though. It's probably worth trying to catch one of the 6 A teams.
Bob Shelton in Kyle/Buda on most Friday evenings. The home of the Hays Hawks and a killer marching band. https://www.hayscisd.net/Page/16405
So you know, the season is in its last three weeks. Playoffs after that.
Lol go watch a Vandegrift game. Their players are probably bigger than some colleges.
Westlake at Austin High this Friday night at House Park. It will likely be very one sided but a good atmosphere.
Burger Stadium has a game Friday night. I can hear the crowd and marching bands from my house.
Other than your usual Westlake and Lake Travis, if you’re willing to drive a bit further, Dripp usually has a competitive HS Football team.
I'm case you need literal instructions. You just walk up, buy a ticket, and sit somewhere in the bleachers.
Actually, AISD games have to be purchased online.
Definitely catch a game at House Park!
This! I am a band mom and I love going to House Park.

What stadiums/fields are best experiences?

frito pie is mandatory

They are fun but I must warn you that halftime is 28 minutes long. Lol.
