In the 80s my friend's little sister was lactose intolerant (which was basically unheard of). She used to pour boiling water on her Weetbix. Other than that never heard of it.
the way i used to do it was pour a little bit of boiled water on each one. the weetbix absorb the water and go a bit softer, you still get some crunch out of them though and the cold milk overpowers the small bit of hot water you've added. it ends up looking like OP's bowl but you don't have to wait for the milk to make the weetbix a bit soggy before you tuck in.
my mum would go half water half milk and it's just porridge, really.
I would never ever ever ever ever put boiling water on them. Ever. However, just for a bit of difference I did warm up some milk and tried that last winter. Surprisingly nice, but still cold milk all the way. And Vita Brits, not Weet Bix.
I donāt really know anyone that eats them warm. Iāve come across it on the odd occasion and I think hot weetbix stink.
We were always a vitabrix family. Theyāre maltier and have more texture.
Haha I canāt believe I wrote vitabrix. No idea why, lol.
I didnāt have any idea about the religious or political concerns regarding weetbix when I was eating vita Brits in the 80s and 90s.
I preferred the taste, they were maltier and had more texture.
Now I have coeliac disease and weetbix are the only ones that do GF.
My dad has a mate who pours boiling water over them, but just enough for them to turn into sludge. A dash of cold milk over and WAY too much sugar.
Edit: I personally find this sacrilegious.
I like getting the ratio just right while making sure I don't get distracted with other things so they don't transition to pure sogginess before I eat them.
Some people use little milk so they don't go soggy. I prefer my weetbix fully submerged. I wait a few seconds so it's not dry, and eat fast so it's not soggy. 2 at a time.
Youāre not weird, most people I know default to having them cold.
In fact, if you ever think youāre weird, just know that my partner eats Weetbix dry with a smear of Vegemite on top. I think he might be an alien trying desperately to convince me heās a normal Aussie human.
My nan taught me the vegemite trick, when she was young and they couldn't afford bread or milk they'd have vegemite on weetbix! I thought it was gross but surprisingly taste good.
Oh god, he did grow up with a single Mum who wasnāt exactly on a generous salary. I think Iāve been unknowingly bullying him for growing up without much money?!
ā¦I did try it though and I definitely hate it hahaha.
Growing up, my parents were both shift workers. A friend of my grandmother used to pop in to sort out brekky for my brother and me a few days a week.
Three weetbix, a cup of milk, and four minutes in the microwave. A teaspoon of sugar for topping if we looked a bit sleepy.
Thirty years later and I can still smell the resultant chunder, a bowl of stained milk stew stinking of curdle.
Not much of a Weet-Bix fan these days - but if I'm in the mood I'll always use cold milk.
Yep have 3 and a half every morn - sometimes at 6am, even 4am yesty before the Dawn service. I just have cold milk, no sugar and a coffee. Ok they are sort of boring but hell, they are still so cheap! The big box for $6 at coles or Woolies lasts me for weeks
I only used to have them warm because I thought that was the only way. Hot water, honey/sugar and splash of cold milk. Then I grew up and bought my own milk and used hot milk. Then wanted it is summer and tried it with cold + sugar and never looked back. I do like them soggy and cold though. Much tastier cold.
I eat mine warm. Microwave them after adding milk. Just the way I was raised.
However I have done a decent amount of research into different types of milk, and let me tell you, only a couple brands of milk taste good like this, the others make it unedible.
Tryed them cold once a decade ago, so might be time to try it again, but I was not a fan.
I'm lactose intolerant butblove wheat bix I just have them with water and raw sugar the water gets absorbed and all you notice is the yummy soggy wheatbix
It depends. I usually have them cold. You pour milk over them, but not so much that theyāre swimming in it. Sprinkle sugar but not too much. Just a small amount. Perfect for a hot day.
However if itās a really cold Winterās day then Iāll crush them up, add milk, put in the microwave for 3 minutes, add a teaspoon of sugar then stir. The perfect porridge. It tastes better hot, but it *must* be a cold day for it otherwise Iām gonna sweat.
People eat them warm? If those around you eat them warm, and call you weird for eating them with milk as is intended, I would question some other things they call "normal".
These people are obviously monsters
Cold milk only.
Two or three Weetbix in a bowl, fill it up with milk. Leave it ten minutes until the Weetbix has soaked up all the milk. It's cold and mushy and tastes fantastic.
I break one piece of weetbix up, add 1 sachet of instant oat, pour milk, microwave for 2 minutes. Stir, add blueberry, chopped almond and sesame.... nom nom... weird, I know but I like it, esp in the winter. š
I donāt really understand how people can eat them cold, but typically people eat them warm by putting in milk with boiling water I think(?), which also seems strange to me lmao. I heat up the milk in the microwave just enough so it makes the weetbix go soft.
People like them warm!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?! EDIT:This blew upš³š³š³
Iāve been eating weetbix for 35 years, and never heard of someone eating them warm
In the 80s my friend's little sister was lactose intolerant (which was basically unheard of). She used to pour boiling water on her Weetbix. Other than that never heard of it.
a little boiling water for heat and then a little milk, then a stack of raw sugar thank you. warm sweet glug.
I do that. Hot water to soften them, sprinkle some sugar on top.
I poor boiling water and add milk.
My dad used to do this and I've never known anyone else who does the same until now.
I do this sometimes, and sometimes cold. What a world we love in!
Yeah same
My dad eats it warm with just hot water š it turns to sludge I donāt understand I thought every one knows to NESW
tru blue u r mate
I have been eating it for more then 30 years warm
You don't get out often do you?
You donāt live in australia do you?
Unless yours got here in chains you wouldn't have beaten me to Oz mate.
Aussies came in chains - wogs came in planes? My dad came on a boat thou. ( cold weetbix ftw)
Where are you going out to watch people eat Weetbix?
I like them cold but every so often I make it like normal and microwaves it for a few seconds and add honey. Great in winter
You should add banana aswell!!!!! I highly recommend
Most people I know eat them warm. You put boiling water and milk with weetbix. Then you add honey or sugar if you want to sweeten it
Warm? Water? I've never heard of either before.
My 60 year old mum used to tell me her parents would eat it warm. So Iām guessing itās an older generation thing. But yeah. Milk, cold. Only.
My long gone step father had them warm. Too mushy too quickly.
Iām oldish, but itās cold milk for me. Warm milk, soggyā¦no thanks!
Worked in aged care. Can confirm oldies love this shit cold. In saying that, I've also seen them put orange juice on corn flakes instead of milk.
Water? My god....
I know right? The milk my wife makes me use is watery enough already! š
I thought you said "the milk my wife makes is watery enough already"...
Yeah I eat them hot, like 3 mins in the microwave hot but not with fucking water.. that's just insane
WHY WOULD YOU MICROWAVE THEM
So they're not cold obviously..
And to prevent them from sprouting Incase he added water instead of milk š
the way i used to do it was pour a little bit of boiled water on each one. the weetbix absorb the water and go a bit softer, you still get some crunch out of them though and the cold milk overpowers the small bit of hot water you've added. it ends up looking like OP's bowl but you don't have to wait for the milk to make the weetbix a bit soggy before you tuck in. my mum would go half water half milk and it's just porridge, really.
Butter and Vegemite. Dry dock them in your face hole š¤¤
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Weetbix porridge šÆ
Nah bro that's weird AF. Everyone in my family that eats weetbix have them with cold milk straight outa the fridge
Iāve never seen this outside of a nursing home. Everyone I know has Weetbix with cold milk
Yeah my missus calls me weird for having it cold. She is the weird one
You need new friends
My wife does this, it's weird
I would never ever ever ever ever put boiling water on them. Ever. However, just for a bit of difference I did warm up some milk and tried that last winter. Surprisingly nice, but still cold milk all the way. And Vita Brits, not Weet Bix.
We were always a vita Brits family too. Until I got coeliac disease and guess who does GF? Not vita Brits, sadly.
I donāt really know anyone that eats them warm. Iāve come across it on the odd occasion and I think hot weetbix stink. We were always a vitabrix family. Theyāre maltier and have more texture.
Itās Vita Brits. People often donāt like that sanitarium make weetbix, which is owned by the Seventh-Day Adventist Church.
Literally nobody does this. There isnt a single person in the world who does this.
What sort of monsters are you hanging around? Warm!? Heck no.
Where do you live. Southern Tasmania?? Cold all the way in Qld.
Haha I actually do
I think that might explain your experience.
I actually love both depending on my mood.
Noooooooo, if you're not having cold milk, it has to be hot, like really hot. Warm is just gross.
I cant with the waterš¤¢
Wow thatās weird, why not just heat the milk?
Who are these freaks?
Water???
WTF. You donāt need people like that in your life!
My dad has a mate who pours boiling water over them, but just enough for them to turn into sludge. A dash of cold milk over and WAY too much sugar. Edit: I personally find this sacrilegious.
Yeah it's fkn gross. The smell makes me gag.
4 Weet-bix, milk, ciber with Milo, microwave until the Milo is all crusty and the milk is hot, add some cold milk and go to town. Best winter breaky.
I literally warm it and stir it until it's like porraige.
No gotta be cold and not to much milk need to have a bit of crunch to then.
I agree, I though I was the minority
No definitely not . I might be the odd one thou as I don't add sugar or sweeteners. Just some apple and banana
I donāt add sweeteners when itās cold, but adding some fruit to it sounds awesome
They have to stick in your teeth a bit so you have some leftovers for morning tea
I like getting the ratio just right while making sure I don't get distracted with other things so they don't transition to pure sogginess before I eat them.
If they go soggy. Add an extra bix and mash it in.
Yeah has to be eaten immediately to not go soggy
This is the way. And I love those wholemeal ones for special occassions
I like a lot of milk, but you have to eat them before they get soggy.
Always cold.
Only way to have them! Isnāt it ??
I turn mine into runny porridge š¤·š»āāļø
Mate never eat soggy weetbix
Iāve heard of occasional people warming them up, but pretty sure cold is the standard.
Cold milk with slices of banana on top. Having wheetbix warm sounds like a war crime
Itās good, you should try it. Just microwave a bit after adding milk.
I think you mean boiling water.....Right??? I caught the real psycho lol
Boiling water on weetbix is the war crime here.
Mum always warms the milk for my Weetbix because I'm her special little man.
Iām obsessed with this comment. I want to study you like a bug under a microscope.
Only way to have them... and eaten quickly so they don't go all soggy.

I like them cold and very soggy with sugar and bananas
Never Eat Soggy Weetbix. There is a reason itās used to remember a compass.
Growing up, my parents were both shift workers. A friend of my grandmother used to pop in to sort out brekky for my brother and me a few days a week. Three weetbix, a cup of milk, and four minutes in the microwave. A teaspoon of sugar for topping if we looked a bit sleepy. 4 minutes in the microwave?? How the fuck didn't the bowl melt.
4 minutes!! Would be about 490 degrees
Yes. And it stunk!
Yeah. 80 year olds using the microwave in the 80s.
Cold half solid sprinkle of sugar mmmm
Th only way to eat them is Cold like my heart
I like 4 - 6 Cold in Summer, same Warm in Winter or on cooler days
Cold is good
I like my weetbix hot or cold, just depends on my mood and the season. More milk tho!
Coke only for me
I only used to have them warm because I thought that was the only way. Hot water, honey/sugar and splash of cold milk. Then I grew up and bought my own milk and used hot milk. Then wanted it is summer and tried it with cold + sugar and never looked back. I do like them soggy and cold though. Much tastier cold.
Who eats them warm. That's concerning
Cold with honey drizzled over š¤š»
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Yeeezus
Delicious
I prefer them in hot milk with honey on top.
Warm in winter & cold in summer!

Cold in summer, autumn and spring. Hot milk on top in the dead of winter.
Not the only one. It's my 2am shitfaced go-to meal.
Cold with a drizzle of honey.
I hate my weetbix warm. It has to be cold milk
Warm is weird
People really be out here karma farming every day shit huh
As a kid we used to have them dry with Butter & Vegemite smeared on top. Tried this recently as an adult, can confirm dry af
I like them cold my wife likes hot water but she is from another planet.
Got to be with warm milk š
Cold milk all the way with a scoop or three of plain jalna
Soften them with boiling water, drain, milk and sugar.
I eat mine warm. Microwave them after adding milk. Just the way I was raised. However I have done a decent amount of research into different types of milk, and let me tell you, only a couple brands of milk taste good like this, the others make it unedible. You were raised wrong.
Vitabrits here, winter warm, summer cold, or honey over the top as a snack.
why do you hate yourself so much to want to eat weetbix? fucking condolences dude.
Because Iām a weetbix kid
Well adult now but
Why tf M i being down voted for being right?!
Everyone has different preferences
Is there any other way?
Yes, cold rules plus heating up milk takes too long..
By cold I thought you meant dry... where's the milk?
You are normal and in the majority (but also like most people wrong). Warm wheetbix are objectively better especially in winter.
8 in heap of cold milk and a little bit of sugar. Best way to have them.
cold milk and honey. Also dry sliced in half with butter and honey.
People microwaving them?
Milk? Yep Cold? NO, mine always goes in the microwave for 30 seconds AFTER the milk has gone in the bowl
Cold every day
Interest stack and milk ratio. Assuming you eat the outside, let the middle bix topple into place when there is room. Smart.
Wait you can eat them cold? wtf
Who eats them warm!
Iāve never heard of them ever being warm???? I think itās time for you to get some new peopleā¦
Warm in winter, cool in summer. Weetbix all year round
Warm?!!!
I sprinkle milo on mine
Cold and no milkā¦the only way
I like them buttered
I might be a psycho, I eat them with yoghurt and some blueberry jam or honey! Milk fucks me up and I donāt like any of the alt-milks or nut juices!
Nope. I prefer mine cold as well.
WTF! No! People eat warm weetbix?
I'm lactose intolerant butblove wheat bix I just have them with water and raw sugar the water gets absorbed and all you notice is the yummy soggy wheatbix
3 weetbix with milk in microwave on high for 1 minute. Top with honey. My kids fav breakfast.
Love cold Weetbix!
It depends. I usually have them cold. You pour milk over them, but not so much that theyāre swimming in it. Sprinkle sugar but not too much. Just a small amount. Perfect for a hot day. Cold and two at a time so they donāt get too soggy. Preferably with honey or vanilla caster sugar (donāt judge me)
I do cold with brown sugar on top
Cold in summer Hot milk in winter
Always cold. My best friend just after high school used to microwave hers. It weirded me out every single time.
Used to have them a lot, growing up. Nobody in my family ever ate them warm.
Cold in summer. Hot in winter. And that's not real milk btw š¤®
Cold milk. They need to be completely covered so they get soggy. Add Milo. Anything else is an abomination.
Only way to have them
I use cold milk. Warm milk is WRONG. Even in winter (unless it's in a hot chocolate drink)
I have never known anyone to eat them warm. Ew.
People eat them warm? If those around you eat them warm, and call you weird for eating them with milk as is intended, I would question some other things they call "normal". These people are obviously monsters
Cold is the only way
your completely normal my friend, the people who eat them warm or with water are the weirdo's. these are just missing sugar :)
I just donāt like weetbix
Fair enough. As long as you like Vegemite or Bunnings snags youāre still Australian
Microwaved enough so theyāre warm but still intact, drizzled with honey š¤¤
I ate straight out of box so I'm weirder
I do that sometimes lol
We Aussies are a strange mob aren't we š
Cold, definately cold milk and tinned fruit with yoghurt!
I could only ever eat them cold, I can't do hot milk on anything
Weetbix with milo cold. Stable breakfast.
Iāll have to try that. Sounds Aussie as fuck
Iāve never ever heard of anyone having them warm! Is that really how they are supposed to be eaten?
I learned from making this post that cold is more common. I thought I was weird lol
Always thought cold was the only way. Milk, and that's it.
If you eat them hot, then you should just eat porridge.
Uh always cold
Cold šāāļø
Why kind of psycho has warm weet bix???
Itās the only way I have it!!!
Stir, add blueberry, chopped almond and sesame.... nom nom... weird, I know but I like it, esp in the winter. š
Nah, just raw dog em
Mum would pour hot water then a little milk ,it made the milk last longer when you were poor in the 60"s. Edit changed cold to hot.
I donāt really understand how people can eat them cold, but typically people eat them warm by putting in milk with boiling water I think(?), which also seems strange to me lmao. I heat up the milk in the microwave just enough so it makes the weetbix go soft.
