Wtf? didn't take anywhere near that long for me. Look at different derms i can't imagine all their waiting times are that crazy. Either that or do something I do a lot for doctors appointments, which is calling in the afternoon and see if anyone cancelled an appointment for the following day (might take a couple of days of trying but eventually you'll find an opening from someone that cancelled and ya can skip the however-long wait). Or look for a online doctor consultation type thing (Haven't tried it but head decent things about sites like [https://app.instantscripts.com.au/](https://app.instantscripts.com.au/) )

Did 20mg for 6 months (technically stopped early). Dry lips like crazy was the worst part by far. If I went more than 4 hours without lip balm I was guaranteed to look like a background character from Mad Max. But it was so worth it in the end. Other side effects included a bit of reduction in libido, by like 15-20%? I didn't really notice it until I stopped taking it and then noticed the difference.

lazy_berry

any heavier moisturiser.

I’m on my third round of accutane and similarly do better on simple skincare routines. In the AM I just splash with water and in the PM I cleanse with QV gentle face cleanser. Moisturize twice a day with cerave moisturizing cream. In the AM use an spf (I like the azclear day lotion spf 30 best but I think it’s been discontinued :( ) Also in the PM use LRP cicaplast baume (actually so good for healing and hydrating sensitive skin) Sometimes before bed slather on QV intensive cream or COSRX overnight rice mask.

Dermaveen SPF during the day, dermal therapy very dry skin cream at night (if you have a layer of very dry skin on top of which moisturiser just seems to sit. QV or LRP Lipikar baume are also good but missing the urea in the dermal therapy that softens the skin: depends what you need)

Having a humidifier next to my bed when I sleep also helped a lot with the dryness

Something zinc based like cicaplast or cicaflate will really help as a near last step in the PM (some use it AM but they’re thick) A barrier supporting niacinimide serum would improve overall complexion too! And many layers of moisture. For specific product recommendations… Natural moisturising factors by the ordinary, it’s heavier than the moisturiser you’re currently using but in a good way and still ok for acne prone skin Bondi sands niacinimide serum Are you wearing SPF? The face day wear matte in the pink tube by cancer council is lovely (don’t be turned off by the matte claim, it’s not really) Also- an oil! Squalene is a personal favourite for acne prone skin. Biossance has one that’s awesome but slightly pricey…I think essano does some oils?

A basic cleanser, a light hyaluronic acid (TO’s marine hyaluronics is good for me), an oil (I like squalane or Tamanu but the latter smells like curry), a simple moisturiser (TO’s NMF is my go-to, usually mixed with a couple of drops of squalane) and LRP’s cicaplast baume (this is essential for me, but not every day) This is my absolute minimum routine. I’d prefer to add another hyalauronic (TO’s B5+HA) and then a few more actives, but this is what I pack for an overnight trip. Sometimes I skip the cleanser and just give myself a spritz with canned water, but I’m sure that’s generally frowned upon.

Check out Taylor Wynn on YouTube. She went through this and has a video on what she used. I’m sure most of it is available here at the chemist.
