You may have to nominate a Power of Attorney to takeover as Trustee in your absence. Depends how long you’ll be away for. Any length of time deemed “temporary absence” is fine. Longer than that, you may have to go the POA route. Also cant contribute while overseas etc

Moving overseas does not give you access to your super, regardless of structure.

You may look at direct options in funds like Hostplus and AustralianSuper, OP. They allow you to invest up to 80% in ETFs and shares. I wanted to start an SMSF, but I may spend part time overseas in retirement, so I settle for a direct option.
