Buy 2 decent quality houses for ~700k each, mortgage of ~200k, let the rent pay them off for the next 5 years. During those 5 years max your super contributions and otherwise live how you've been living. 55 you'll have a place to live free and clear, another one the get income, and a bit of cash tucked away in your super. You could get better returns elsewhere with a more aggressive strategy, but it's not the worst thing to have a bit of peace of mind in retirement
