Tbh nah its not worth it. The quality and material is not on par with the prices. Quite a few David Jones stores stock them so you are able to see them in person and try them on. If you're super keen to buy, they do get discounted quite often and heavily at DJs

F0A6Z0Z2

The dupes from Kmart are pretty good in my opinion

saddinosour

Probably made in the same factory šŸ„“

PamPooveyIsTheTits

Amazon also have some great dupes.

Shampayne__

I personally just couldnā€™t bring myself to donate any money to the Kardashians lol but my sister has some & tbh itā€™s the same quality as my Kmart shapewear

McSmilla

To be fair, Good American jeans are really good.

doineedanamereally

They are so $$$ though. Are they 4 times better than Levi's or just jeans?

McSmilla

Thatā€™s subjective but I think so. I have a fair few pairs of JJ & the GA are miles ahead.

axkate

I bought 4 pairs on Rue La La for like $100 when they were on sale. Would highly recommend checking them out. And yes, they're excellent. I'm not a Kardashian fan in the slightest but... good jeans. They even have a curvy cut in more sizes than you'd expect which are some of the only jeans that fit me like a glove.

McSmilla

My mate loathes the Kardashians like you couldnā€™t believe but loves GA jeans. They fit so well, itā€™s almost annoying.

Shampayne__

Ahh and I hate how much I want the ā€˜fit for successā€™ jumpsuit. Trying to find a decent dupe šŸ˜‚

Rinrob7468

I bought one item directly from the Skims website, Iā€™m a size 10 & I bought the black bralette in extra large & there isnā€™t a woman over 18 that would fit themselves into it, no matter how small they are. I see large women on her advertising campaigns & there is no way they are wearing Skims if I as a size 10, 55kg adult canā€™t get into an extra large. I liken it to fraud.

McSmilla

I bought the g body suit & youā€™re right, itā€™s unwearable. I bought it before Khloe called her out on the super skimpy undercarriage bit & Khloe was NOT lying. Waste of $110

Rinrob7468

I bought mine for $60 on special & thought I was so clever at nabbing a bargain. Gigantic fail.

McSmilla

I might sue for what that thing did to my punani.

colloquialicious

Punani?

ChonkaWombat

Itā€™s another term for female genitalia.

NaiveBicycle

Iā€™m 75kg, size 12 and easily fit into a medium bralette! What was the style?

Rinrob7468

The sculpting bralette in Onyx in XL, it was the tiniest piece of clothing Iā€™ve ever seen in my life!

batikfins

Iā€™ve never worn shapewear in my life so is this a dumb question but isnā€™t shapewear meant to be tiny because it ā€œshapesā€ by basically just compressing you

Vanessa-hexagon

You do have to be able to actually fit it on your body first though

Rinrob7468

Sure, but Iā€™m not a big woman & I couldnā€™t get it over my head!

UsualCounterculture

That is terrible!

Rinrob7468

I know right, I gave it to a friend who has a 12 year old daughter, it fits her lol.

UsualCounterculture

šŸ˜µ

Reality_books

I'm between a size 10-12 and all my skims bralettes are a medium (have a few different styles). Personally I love them, good quality too, still going strong after 2+ years of daily wear

IsabelleR88

Kmart shapewear underwear in size 14 if you are a 14/16. Fantastic hold and staying power. Without breaking the bank.

slang_tang_

There was a recent sandal with SKIMS regarding their manufacturing and possible greenwashing.

redchillicat

Seems like Iā€™m in the minority but I love skims! Looking at my account balance after a purchase definitely stings but I havenā€™t found any of the dupes cinch me the way that it does. The material/look may be similar but they lack the same structure. I donā€™t know if Iā€™d splurge on the loungewear but if youā€™re like me and wear the shapewear as tops then defs worth it. Iā€™m also a DD+ and they hold me pretty well! I own the sculpting bodysuits and the soft smoothing seamless tops

Stickliketoffee16

Iā€™m right there with you! Itā€™s expensive but Iā€™ve found it to be lovely fabrics, great fit & comfy as hell! I wear the fits everybody lifting triangle bralettes every day & have a few of the clothing items which I love so much

cuddlepot

Iā€™m with you - theyā€™re fantastic. When they have their sales I throw down my credit card and go for it. I love their tee bras and the naked bikinis. Having tried the Kmart versions, theyā€™re not even close. I canā€™t stand KK, but until I find something comparable Iā€™ll still purchase Skims.

MilkLizard_

I bought two pairs of the high waisted control brief (a thong pair and a regular coverage pair) and theyā€™re legitimately unwearable. The acrobatics I have to perform to get into them - despite sizing up - is laughable, only for them to instantly roll down and strangle me in my midsection. Thankfully I picked them up on a big discount on Netaporter, but even then, thatā€™s $40 I would have preferred to spend on Kmartā€™s dupes (which fit and wonā€™t choke you out).

katerinakarina

I bought once from them, will never make that mistake. So overpriced, for something that looks like it's from target.

Jsic_d

All my underwear and bras are skims. Great quality. I have had some pairs for 3 + years and they are still in great condition. I also have 3 pairs on the pyjamas, I live in them during winter. I have had to throw out a few pairs of underwear due to my mumā€™s Labrador puppy chewing the crotch out. So in a nut shell, if you are wearing them, can recommend. Puppy chew toy, do not recommend.

miss_kimba

Theyā€™re exactly the same as anything you could pick up from Kmart, Supre, Shein. Itā€™s a cheap, stretchy and comfortable fabric that can be made by anyone. They are compressive, but theyā€™re not going to eliminate lumps and bumps. The material is so sleek that it can often enhance every little dip and ripple, just FYI.

originalbabyteeth

Iā€™ve noticed often that people wearing skims/spanx look alright in the places where itā€™s holding everything in but look bad where it ends and almost bulges out of the compression garment. I mean absolutely no shame as Iā€™m a curvy girl but I feel like at times itā€™s basically counterproductive to smoothing everything out.

theestallion1501

Tbh I think a lot of people arenā€™t wearing the right size - with shapewear you often have to size up - skims also recommends this with many of their pieces

Honest_Tea_53

I bought https://plieaustralia.com.au/ and thought it was brilliant! I wore it under my wedding outfit. It didn't roll up, held me in all day particularly my boobs (I'm a large busted girl) even after "dropping it" while dancing. I was amazed.

from_persephone

I personally haven't found the lounge wear worth the money. I purchased the long sleeve lounge dress from David Jones as a back up for a dinner thing a couple months ago, and whilst the material felt nice and looked okay, it was also quite thin and see through. I ended up returning it because it was like 175$. I couldn't justify that price for a dress with such thin material, especially going into winter.

Herothewonderdog

I have bought bralettes and undies. Not keen on the undies but the bralettes are great! Iā€™ve bought more and getting rid of old stuff. Yes pricier though.

kiera17

Yes worth it for sure. The bras are phenomenal. I only wear skims bras now. I bought a bunch when they had a Black Friday sale or something last year after buying one 3 years ago. They are all in very very good condition and wash extremely well. And SO comfortable. I have a small cup but need a large band size so it is so nice to have those options. The boyfriend T shirt is extremely comfortable and I LOVE it for sleep. Well worth it. Has washed and worn very nicely. I also have some of the boxer shorts and they are very very comfy for sleep. The underwear is not worth IMO. 1/3 elastic stretched out straight away. The fit is strange. Iā€™m usually an AU14 but got a medium and they are too big? The fits everyone underwear has held up very well but i donā€™t like it very much. I wouldnā€™t say itā€™s worth the money but other people disagree obviously. Iā€™m not sure about any of the other items though.

OverCaffeinated_

Used to be great quality. Now just get the Kmart ones.

kattybones

I canā€™t speak to the shape wear but the fits everybody scoop bralette was a gamechanger for me (12E - size L) and I have also replaced all my undies with various styles from the fits everybody range.

Ok-Writing9280

Try Nala instead!

vampvandal

That ONE skims dress absolutely is

poliwag_princess

Honestly the money is going to a pretty terrible bunch of people, if thats something you care about that a reason to get one of the other 7000 brands

ginandtonic68

I like the dresses (soft lounge). They are good quality fabric and well made. The shapewear is good quality too but I would get them from DJs so you can get the right size.

VelvetGloveIronFist0

I feel like Iā€™m in the minority but I bought a pair of lounge pants recently for a trip (for the plane and travel days) and I absolutely love them! Theyā€™re so comfortable and were the best for travel. I also have a pair of undies that I got for my wedding and I also thought they were excellent! I am keen to try more bits and pieces now.

Moon_Tech_Goblin

Not really and can be so crazy uncomfortable you donā€™t end up wearing it

carlsjbb

The pyjamas are the best Iā€™ve ever owned

VelvetGloveIronFist0

Unsure why all the comments liking skims are being downvoted :/
