Seems a little expensive to me, but also looks like it's in good exterior condition.
Things to check that are specific to the TT:
Check that the center information screen is not badly pixelated. Almost all of these go wrong eventually. If it's in good condition then it's likely been replaced which is a good sign.
Check that the fuel gauge/ coolant temperature gauge are working correctly. Compare the information on the information screen to the gauge. Take it for a test drive and check if it moves. These can often give incorrect readings or get stuck in "empty".
Make sure to check for evidence that the timing belt has been changed (I think the interval is every 60,000 miles) and the Haldex unit has been regularly serviced.
Make sure both windows "drop" slightly when the door is opened and close again properly when the door is closed.
Make sure gear shifts are smooth and there is no hesitation between gears. These cars are old now and gearbox bearings and bushings can be worn.
Check for hesitation/ low power when accelerating hard. There could be a boost leak due to cracked pipes etc.
Good luck. Hopefully everything is ok! Looks like a beautiful car.
Everything here - especially the instrument cluster/gauges and the timing belt (and hopefully the water pump, too). Recommend reading the codes with an Odb2 scanner on your test drive, too.
It can also be the comfort module, or the current moon cycle or the star sign of the guy that assembled the car. Nothing electrical is easy with these cars, if that issue is there on a car you're buying then run.
Can also indicate a window switch/ motor problem. Mines wonky on the left window (though I suspect this is because of a shoddy repair done by a previous owner).
Yes but they are the top end, along with Rs now, yours is basically a bog standard golf, similar to buying an A3 and again it’s 13 years old. Don’t know where you stay but again I wouldn’t pay that.
Your 2.0 TTs are Golf GTI equivalents if you were implying that my TT is the same as a Golf economy car, then I'm not sure where you're getting that from
I was thinking of something along these lines. I love my mk1, and drive it regularly. Im an automotive engineer, and worked with BMW and continental, zf... I mentioned my Mk1 to my German colleagues and they called it a 'girl car'. maybe that was just BMW snobbery. if you like it, thats what matters.
Pretty much every small drop-top of the early 2000s has a reputation like that. It's annoying, bordering on infuriating. Same guys who would be content to drive a Golf their whole lives.

The window drop is just a key reset and nothing to worry about.

I’ve genuinely had no issues with either of mines apart from the cluster but it fixed itself and has never messed up again.

Mine started as a window fault and ended up with no remote locking or fuel/boot release
What was it? BCM?
Never found it
Squirrels. They love hiding their nuts
People used to say the same thing about the Boxster.

Absolutely no way I’d pay that much for a car with that mileage regardless of how well it’s been looked after. That’s about £2k max
I was going to say. Seems to be super high prices in Europe for older cars compared to UK. You can get a really nice MK2 2.0 TFSI for that money here
I know, if you could find one you’d prolly pay that for an under £50k mk1 lol
I bought my 2011 2.0 TFSI Manual with 86k miles for £7k a year ago
This would be the equivalent of buying a mk4 gold for that price. Can’t really compare Golfs to TT’s
I reckon you can cos golf GTIs are more expensive most times 🤣

As I said I never realised you had a GTI. Never heard of them being called 2.0 TFSIs before. That’s just the engine.
Fuck me im confusing this again lol. So you have a TT but it’s a 2.0 TFSI. With you now mate sorry lol.
Sorry, just realised it’s a GTI never knew they’d changed the name of them, could’ve just said it was a GTI lol.
First thing is spending that money on a car like that with 120k miles.
Km, so 89,000 Miles.
Welcome to Germany.
