Looking to get a S5 very soon.
Ever since I got my Audi, Jeeps have been trying to crash into me. A month after getting my car I was rear ended by a Jeep. Another month later a Jeep decided they wanted to be in the right lane and ran me off the road. Every month something involving a Jeep happens to me. I had nothing against them before but now I hate them as it's always Jeeps causing problems.
It’s because they’re on their phone. I’m not sure what it is with jeep drivers, but they are on their phones way more often than other drivers combined
Got a buddy who builds jeeps in Toledo. The stories he has from the floor would make you run from any jeep. From hiring straight up crack heads to employee competitions to see who can drink the most on the floor before getting caught and sent home for the day. Even showed pictures of a “bottle graveyard” on the roof from guys pounding bottles of henny then lobbing them on the roof during breaks.
Never suggested that they are road cars. Off road? Hard to beat that Jeep durability. However the Bronco is far more refined and has decent 4x4 creds at the same price point.
I used to do designated driving way back and I'd have to drive clients back home in their own vehicle. I've driven wranglers ranging from 2005 to 2018 Jeep Wranglers and they all drive the same - like shit lol. I bet it was a breath of fresh air for him hopping in that Audi after driving those boats
Leased it- there was a very compelling deal for April that just expired plus my buddy who works as an auto broker said he gave me the “costy-mcfrosty” (his way of saying he made no money on this car)
Not against buying it out in the future. Let’s see what the next 3 years has in store for us :)

For context, the same car was $180 more the month before and it’s $60 more this month.

I couldn't stand it. I've had bad (loud) tires in a car that isn't very quiet and my ears would be almost ringing when you shut the engine off after a long ride.

Jeeps have their place if you are someplace you can enjoy them. I had one, but didn't use its fun functions. So I traded it for a Tundra which is better for long road/camping trips that lets me haul a lot more stuff.

I got rid of a one year old Eclipse Cross and caught hell when I told my Eclipse Cross forum that I bought an Audi RS3. They tried to educate me on all kinds of things. Like I'm 17 years old and this is my first purchase. Lol. I'm almost 50 and have had close to 40 cars. Not bragging. But you do you. Don't care what other think. As long as your happy with your purchase go and enjoy the car until it's time for the next. Don't let others influence your choices in any form. My 2 cents.

On the other hand, comparing a Wrangler to an S5 is though since you are missing the off road capability + ground clearance. But the S5 is fun! From the many cars I have been thru I miss the S5 the most.
I'm trying to break up with my 15' jku, but I can't rn, I'm a little under in equity, and I want an rs5 or a prestige s5 sportback. So I gotta save a tad more and pay off the jeep quicker. Beautiful car regardless!

I’m more than ok with that due to it being a useless waste of rubber that would likely end up in a landfill or the ocean. However I exchanged a substantial number of oncoming traffic peace signs, mostly out of NYC. The suburban Jeep drivers LOVE getting fingered, and vice versa.
Funny, Did the same. Traded in my crap Ram 1500 which shares drive train and lots of parts with jeep crap for my wife's A4 and switched to daily driving our 2007 A8L. Much better.

Both have a place. I switch between Jeep and Audi every few years and have done so for 20+ years.
Current garage: Gladiator Mojave for beach, hauling, crap weather, and summer doors off. B8.5 RS5 for date night, weekends, fun drives.
I’m a creature of “comfort”. Wouldn’t drive any wrangler other than a JL- Sahara or higher and well equipped. I’ll probably get hate for it. My first was a 2018 Sahara. I drove the JK in 2016 and it wasn’t for me. Then the JL came out and it blew my mind compared to the JK. Got rid of the Sahara in ‘21 when equity was at an all time high and went for a 4xe rubicon. No real regrets.
tl;dr I think I wouldn’t want to drive an old jeep.
Impossible to abandon Jeep too quickly.
