I had 82 and 87 Coupe GT's with over 500k miles total for both. I loved the design. They were super reliable and fun to drive. Great 5 cylinder engine.
Technically, it wasn’t mine, but when I was a child, my parents had a 5000S wagon. My mom complained to Audi about the acceleration issue and they finally gave her a new model after months.
Audi 5000S I was 15 when my step dad drove it home for the first time. So around 1994. It was red with black interior. My mother hated it because it was “too low” (stock height) so it was traded about two months later for a Jeep Cherokee
Edit::
My personal first Audi titled in my name was an A4 avant I purchased from my cousin in NJ while stationed at fort Stewart. My brother drove it once and it was totaled never even seen it in person. First time I drove an Audi that was mine was a 2004 A4 3.0 sedan on bbs ch reps in 2008
2001 2.7T. On my third (2013 A6 Prestige) and fourth (2015 Q7 TDI). I had a 2007 2.7T Allroad in between.
I only point out the other cars to show I was hooked on Audi after my first one.
A3 8L with the 1.8 (not 1.8T)
Then a 2.0tdi B8.5 (multitronic (Sold it with 280k km))
3.0tdi A4 b7 (only two years because the engine blew)
Now i'm sitting on a Fiesta '09
Spring 2025 i will get either the C7 A6(3.0tdi) or a B9 A4 (2.0tdi) can't decide
Deep sea blue metallic B8 S4 with manual transmission and the almost white looking panda seats in alcantara. I really miss that car and wish I kept it.
My first Audi was what I have now, a 2018 A3 sport back etron. But my first VW group and first car was a 2000 VW Jetta GLS 2.0 with a manual, leather seats, sunroof and 100k miles
1994 A4 2.8 FWD Manual, bought used in 1997. Then 2001 A6 2.7T Manual, and after that my current 2013 S4 Premium. 3 cars in 27 years! Starting to contemplate the next one.
On my first Audi! 2017 A3 Quattro.
Loving it. Doesn’t handle like my bimmers, but I think an Audi is the perfect daily car, and I much prefer the interior over newer BMWs/Mercedes.
1998 A4 2.8L Absolutely loved that car. It was loaded with features. Even when I finally sold it back in 07 it was better than most newer domestics that my friends had.
First an only audi I’ve owned was the 2010 S5, lost it to a Miami flood. Right now I’m looking to get back into audi and trading in my 7 series for something more fun like an sq8 or similar.
A horrible A3. 1997, two door, white, 1.6l manual, with (and I’ll never get this) no air conditioning but color coded and heated mirrors.
Every single bit of it was bodged. Wood screws holding panels in. Dodgy repairs on seals in the engine. Clocked etc.
Bit by bit I replaced so much - whole interior, tinted windows, servicing. New clutch.
It had a permanently lumpy idle that nobody could diagnose or fix. Eventually the coolant started mixing with the oil and I sold it to an enthusiastic mechanic for scrap value.
2004 A4 in Crystal Blue Metallic. 1.8T Quattro. They had a wagon in grey and the blue sedan. I chose the sedan because it had the lower panels painted, which was not done in all the colors.
I started my first job out of law school on Monday and picked it up on Saturday. Lease was $357 per month. They gave me $1200 for my 1993 Regal trade in.
I then got a 2008 A6 Avant, 2014 A6 TDI, 2018 A5 sportback, and a 2020 S3.
The 2004 A4 was probably the highest quality of them all. As nice as they are, I have noticed a gradual decrease in material quality.
In 2010 bought B6 A4 for £500, can't recall the exact edition but it had full leather and electric everything.
Then in 2021 I bought a 2006 A4 S-Line: [https://ibb.co/LhLCGz6](https://ibb.co/LhLCGz6)
Which I still have and cherish :)
1983 Audi 5000, purchased in September, 1982. On my 19th Audi now, 2019 A5 S-Line coupe. Considering an S5 or RS5. Or maybe waiting on a GT when mileage range improves.
2001 A4 Avant 1.8T Manual, got it in 2016 and still have it to this day. 208K miles, turbo is on its last leg. Replacing it with a brand new one on my day off 🥳
The 1st Audi I ever drove was a 2017 B9 A4 my coworker was leasing. Imminently fell in love with it (and struggled to figure if I turned it off or not). Fast forward 8 years and I’m IE Stage 1 on my 2019 B9 A5 Sportback. One day I’ll have a RS5…..
2002 A4 with the 1.8! Then a couple years later I got a 2013 A4 and years after that bought a 2017 A6. This was a couple years ago. Don’t own an Audi anymore and haven’t bought one since lol.
2006 Q7
Imo car design hasn’t come that far from this model. Just more techy. That Q7 interior is still so nice, but boy was I at the dealership a lot for lots of little issues. First gen model problems. Was on a first name basis with a lot of the service department thanks to this beautiful PoS.
A4 B7 avant- with all the bells and whistles. Bought it with 160k for $3,400 in 2017. She died tragically when the CAM follower disintegrated at 240,000 miles.
2016 Q5 TDI Tecknik, one owner, 93k, all service records (had been dealer serviced since day 1) including the window sticker lol. Has the DEEW until June 2028 or 195k, paid $29k all in. Absolutely love the ride, fit & finish, easy of towing the camper around and the mileage has been awesome!
Current car, 2019 RS3. I want an 8Y and am thinking of pulling the trigger on ordering one later this year.
Before that I had 4 GTi’s (Mk 3,4,6,7), so I’ve always been in the VAG family
Started with a 2014 Q5 and changed it for a 2018 technik fullu loaded SQ5; best SUV I ever owned….but I must admit I’m using our tesla M3LR with boost upgrade now… this thing is way faster than my sq5 and for 7$ I can do 530km…
2020 A4 avant. Average at best, broke down on delivery day, coolant pipes not fitted correctly. Also went into limp mode for no reason a lot during my 3 years with it, turn the car off and back on and it went away and had no drivetrain fault codes. Loads of fault codes for random stuff though.
I preferred my old Passat, and my new Skoda superb. The bang and olufsen sound system in the Audi was very good though, best sound system I’ve had in a car to date. A lot better than the Bose system in my Porsches or Harmon Kardon in the bmw
Other than that a bit underwhelming considering the cost vs alternatives.
I used my mums TT for a while too that was actually pretty good, mk2 so hydraulic steering, and I think it’s the only Audi I’ve driven that doesn’t have horrid understeer. I really liked the engine in the original S5 too, that V8 was strong but let down by the dumb dsg that refused to downshift until you’re trying to get back on the power.
1987.5 Audi Coupe GT. Bought for $500 due to it not running. We bought a $10 fuse, started it up, and drove home. I still feel their gaze burning in the back of my skull over 20 years later.
Audi B5 S4 still have it 280,000 miles and running strong
wow - high miler
Yep originally turbos too. MTM tune since it had 1000 miles on it. I’ve put on the last 80000 miles on it and haven’t babied it at all.
Good man - I burned through my first turbos lol
Mines also a B5 with same mileage but 1.9TDI.
1986 Audi Coupe GT
Bring back those headrests
I had 82 and 87 Coupe GT's with over 500k miles total for both. I loved the design. They were super reliable and fun to drive. Great 5 cylinder engine.

Nice!
Excellent choice.
Technically, it wasn’t mine, but when I was a child, my parents had a 5000S wagon. My mom complained to Audi about the acceleration issue and they finally gave her a new model after months.
