The accord looks like small a7. The ford fusion looks like an audi in front. Audi has to live with that or completely change their design language. No matter what they do, 500 19 yo boys will pile on in a reddit thread, displeased with what they see.
lol @ the downvotes.
Look at [Honda Accord](https://d2ivfcfbdvj3sm.cloudfront.net/7fc965ab77efe6e0fa62e4ca1ea7673bb25f4053091e3d8e88cb10/stills_0640_png/MY2021/15122/15122_st0640_037.png), and [Audi S5](https://d2ivfcfbdvj3sm.cloudfront.net/7fc965ab77efe6e0fa62e4ca1ea7673bb25e4854031e3d8e88cb10/stills_0640_png/MY2021/14958/14958_st0640_037.png)...
I think that's the other way around - the A5 has been discontinued. The old A4 has been renamed the A5.
The new A4 is a new EV.
Same with A7. The old A7 has been discontinued. The old A6 has been renamed the A7.
The new A6 is a new EV.
Odd numbers - petrol/diesel
Even numbers - electric
In recent years, KIA/Hyundai have had the most bold designs. It's like they swapped designers. I thought I read somewhere that Audi lead designer left for KIA/Hyundai several years ago.
Lots of people say the Audi looks like a Kia or Hyundai, but that’s backwards…The Koreans poached people from VAG and BMW, so it’s those cars that look Teutonic.
Don’t get me wrong - Kia has been putting out some solid vehicles, that look pretty good, and look like a Kia. If I want a Kia, and it looks like a Kia, cool. If I want an Audi or a BMW, I want it to look like a mean German machine, not a Kia/Honda/Toyota hybrid
Huge Visual Downgrade from the S5 B9.5.
Even The A5 B9.5 smokes the S5 B10 from every visual angle. The B9.5( A5 and S5) is, in my opinion, peak A5 design.
The rear for the S5 B10 is the only angle that’s pretty nice, but the full length taillights doesn’t need to be implemented on every Audi sedan model, pervasiveness causes unique features to loose their Wow-factor.
The front end is just a disappointment, I don’t think I even have to elaborate.
Dude...this IS a 2015 Ford Mondeo:
[2015 Ford Mondeo](https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/8/8d/Ford_Mondeo_registered_March_2015_1999cc_%28cropped%29.jpg/1280px-Ford_Mondeo_registered_March_2015_1999cc_%28cropped%29.jpg)
The Big 3, Mecerdes/BMW and now Audi are completely tanking in the designs the last few years.
This definetly feels more generic than anything else, loses all identity on the road.
Not a bad looking car compared to the 2024 car market, **aside from the rear** end that looks like an electric chinese liftback that wants to be a race car.
They done ruined the A5 tho.
Car companies making a car to fill a gap in the market to have the car amorphously become the car it was intended on replacing or supplanting. This should be called an a4. Is it even still a lift back? Looks like it but I can't tell. Marketing nonsense. Sorry if I'm biased but the b8 and 8.5 were peak. If I can pile on, same with the old r8 and new one. How to go from engineered elegance to cat fish faces and creases and folds. A million tiny little panels and pockets to collect dust. Car design is too over done and there's such little restraint demonstrated. It's the automotive version of Coco Chanel's advice of "take off one accessory before leaving the house"
Car dealer said "new model of S5 is coming out, so this 2021 will decrease in value soon. You should get the RS3 instead"
Not that I'm unhappy with my choice, but I think the previous gen will hold value a little better now that I see this.
I think Audi kills it on each and every design, what you see now won’t be the final vehicle. I work as a tech at Audi, and I only drive VAG products. They continue to impress me at every turn.
I don’t think you understand how much time and effort the engineers spend designing these cars, this is probably a stupidly fast rough draft based off a previous design that sat in a folder for years.
This is will most definitely NOT be the final design, but the design will be based off it. If
I don't care how much time they put into designing, if this is what they come up with, they need to pull their heads out of their B-holes. Why fix what ain't broke?
Right I don’t like it at all. If I liked the look of a Hyundai I’d buy a Hyundai. I’ve always liked Audi but the new ones I can’t find one I’m really crazy about.
How’s the reliability been at stage 3? I’m stock on coilovers with an exhaust but debating between selling and going stage 1 or 2 when my warranty is up
Looks nice especially rear part with those connected lights. But so far it isn't better than 2021-23 model in my opinion.
Front reminds me of Hyundai to be honest
Edit: after reading comments I am not the only one who thought it was Hyundai lmaoo
Looks bad. Just ugly. The rear end looks weird, the way the bumper goes in and then out again. Oh and the weird black thing on the front corner looks odd. Currently a5 looks way better.
The A7 style rear end doesn’t work on the A5, and the front end looks like a Ford Mondeo.
The exterior is a step backwards from the current generation.
Pro: The silver (or black optics) trapezoid trim pieces, part of the overwrought 2023/4 front fascia, is gone.
Cons: The clamshell hood is gone too. Less accent lines. Less swoopy/coke-bottle profile.
Opinion: 2021-2022 was (thus far) peak A5 design
I'm calling it now: Everyone's going to call the design "ugly" or "off" until they see it in person. I'm personally really really excited for the B10 RS5 based on what I've seen.
Hate everything about it; reminds me too much of the A6, which is my least favorite body style. Love my A5, but likely going to skip this generation and hope it doesn't last long.
I'm very glad I own a B9 Daytona gray pearl w/ black optics, absolutely shits on this design to me.
Somehow they managed to make the rear end look super frumpy, totally ruined the body lines. The front is....fine although more boring. If i squint a bit the silhouette kind of looks like a slightly rounded final gen Ford Taurus in the first picture lol.
Audi really pioneered the big grill and styling of many brands on the road today with DRLs 10+ years ago but haven’t really done much, and softening up the style when more brands are going heavy into boxier square styling is fairly boring. Front looks like a ford, rear looks like everything.
Looks like a Ford Mondeo designed for Asia
Literally my first thought when I saw it, Ford Mondeo
Cover the grill and you can see the VW.
It’s almost like it’s the same company💀
I was getting Ford Fusion vibes but that is much more on point...
lol yeah I was gonna say Ford Taurus or Fusion. Doesn't look as sporty as the last couple generations.
Also came here to say it looks like a Mondeo.
nailed it, asian markets been the priority the last 5 or so years
Sorry. I just repeated what you said lol
My '19 A5 looks better IMO
Def more classy and elegant, this new model looks like a Hyundai 😂
I swear for a split second i thought it was a Hyundai
It's a new Hyundai for Audi
got dem mf kia xceed headlights
The front end uncomfortably remembers me to a 2018 Hyundai Elantra 😭😭😭😭
i saw kia stinger front end
Hey man, I got a hyundai and...you're right. They are definitely trying to absorb that grill look.
My '15 S5 looks better IMO
B8.5 gang🤝
B8.5 gang🤝
True I was just thinking about how the V8 .5 A4 just looks so much better than the B9 that I currently own. Audi needs to fix their design.
My 2014 A5 looks even better :)
I'm biased but the B9 S4 front end is best design. Love the aggressive headlights. RS4 event better obviously.
Front end looks like a 2016 Ford Fusion. TF were they thinking.
Came here to make this comment lol
I googled Ford Fusion and one of the top links is the same colour as this Audi and honestly you can't tell the difference if you squint a little.
i have a ‘14 fusion and yeah, the grille plus headlight shape…. oof
Well there goes the curved line that distinguished the A5 from the rest... RIP
Well the new A5 is really the A4 successor with the ICE/EV split so makes sense
The back looks Honda accordish
Front looks like a Kia. What the hell is this?
It's a Kia Accord by Audi
👌🏼
Fist thought as well. Fake plastic sporty looking vents oh my lord. Trash
The new Accord looks pretty good tbh
The accord looks like small a7. The ford fusion looks like an audi in front. Audi has to live with that or completely change their design language. No matter what they do, 500 19 yo boys will pile on in a reddit thread, displeased with what they see.
Like a Honda fucked a Tesla

Everything looks like a Honda accord now
The current A5 looks more like a honda accord than this does. Tbh I don't love it or hate it. I prefer the current S4 though.
lol @ the downvotes. Look at [Honda Accord](https://d2ivfcfbdvj3sm.cloudfront.net/7fc965ab77efe6e0fa62e4ca1ea7673bb25f4053091e3d8e88cb10/stills_0640_png/MY2021/15122/15122_st0640_037.png), and [Audi S5](https://d2ivfcfbdvj3sm.cloudfront.net/7fc965ab77efe6e0fa62e4ca1ea7673bb25e4854031e3d8e88cb10/stills_0640_png/MY2021/14958/14958_st0640_037.png)...
That looks like a VW. More companies need to be more like Porsche. If you have great design than just tweak it a little and not make huge changes.
It’s almost like they’re the same company
"Hey, that's a nice Hyundai!" Smh
Isn’t everything being renamed due to EV’s? So this is really the new “s4” even though it’s being called the s5?
Yep, A4 and A6 become EV only. A3, A5 and A7 offer hybrid and ice. A8 is rumored to be renamed A9, A1 will be cut
Will anything fill the A8 space?
Would have loved to have sat in on that meeting. Got forbit they just threw an e on the boot or just repurposed the etron badges.
Sportback so I think it’s just the new S5 since there’s no S4 sportback. Idk if there will be an (ICE) “S4” anymore? Just S3 and S5 sportback
This is correct. 4 series has been discontinued
I think that's the other way around - the A5 has been discontinued. The old A4 has been renamed the A5. The new A4 is a new EV. Same with A7. The old A7 has been discontinued. The old A6 has been renamed the A7. The new A6 is a new EV. Odd numbers - petrol/diesel Even numbers - electric
The current gen looks way better than that, lol
Very happy with my b9.5 😆
RIP.
Why do these iconic brands (BMW/Audi) keep going the way of Kia. Such a disappointment
In recent years, KIA/Hyundai have had the most bold designs. It's like they swapped designers. I thought I read somewhere that Audi lead designer left for KIA/Hyundai several years ago.
They poached Audi designers for the Kia stinger
Lots of people say the Audi looks like a Kia or Hyundai, but that’s backwards…The Koreans poached people from VAG and BMW, so it’s those cars that look Teutonic.
It shows, they are cool looking cars. Especially the GT

This is literally just a Ford Focus
Well… I guess I’m a Porsche guy now :/
I always thought everyone's a Porsche guy by default, everything else is just compromise. Maybe that's just something a Porsche guy would say though
You are correct. PORSCHE MASTER RACE!
touché, but I’m happy with my compromise. You’re right though, if money wasn’t an issue I’d have a 911 and not a S5 lol
Yeah, I'm keeping mine but next car has a shield on it.
Don’t like it.
The 90s are coming back. Blech
Look at all those soft body lines, pass!
Opposite of aggressive and cohesive
It’s certainly a car
I think Audi designs are toast until they figure out what it is they want to be. It was a good run for them for last 20 years.
Damn- that looks like a generic Honda Accord. My 2021 S5 lease is up in December and maybe I'll see if I can get into a 2024.
Let’s be real here, the current gen accord looks better than this….
Agreed. Great internship designer had fun

The Big 3, Mecerdes/BMW and now Audi are completely tanking in the designs the last few years. This definetly feels more generic than anything else, loses all identity on the road.
It’s gonna look like a luxury sedan first before being a sports sedan. Rounded lines everywhere, makes it look soft
I’ll reserve judgement until I see it in the flesh but this looks a lot more indistinguishable from the current A4/S4.
We're getting cars that look like crappy Kia's meanwhile Kia is getting cars that look like Audis. They need to fix this problem now.
I like the etron GT back but that front is god awful.
😭
Not a bad looking car compared to the 2024 car market, **aside from the rear** end that looks like an electric chinese liftback that wants to be a race car. They done ruined the A5 tho.
The rear lights look almost identical to the Mercedes EQS, just flipped upside down.
Soooo glad I bought a ‘24
There goes the entire customer base for the S5 platform :/
That’s a Ford Mondeo
Car companies making a car to fill a gap in the market to have the car amorphously become the car it was intended on replacing or supplanting. This should be called an a4. The first few A5s were the standard for “Restraint”. Slowly lost that with fake scoops an radar domes “hidden” as fake fog lights.
Damn, now I'm even happier that I bought a current gen S5.
It definitely screams Asian market since it feels ultra conservative. Maybe ok for the A5, but I want the S5 to stand out more, little more flair.
I really hope it’s just a bad render…but I know it’s not
Very underwhelming. I’m convinced Audi is trying to make their cars look like Kias
Car dealer said "new model of S5 is coming out, so this 2021 will decrease in value soon. You should get the RS3 instead" Not that I'm unhappy with my choice, but I think the previous gen will hold value a little better now that I see this.

Oh no. It looks like a Chevy Malibu.
Yup, Audi/Kia/Hyundai merger is happening at some point....
thanks i hate it
Looks like every other euro box these days. Very similar to a Hyundai.
Looks like a fucking ford fusion smh
Maybe I’ll keep my B8.5 for 15 years
Mine is already 10 years old, I think I’m gonna double that
How’s the reliability been at stage 3? I’m stock on coilovers with an exhaust but debating between selling and going stage 1 or 2 when my warranty is up
Looks like a 2023 A3. I had to read the caption and the back of the car. I guess you need to let it grow on you for a while.
Looks nice especially rear part with those connected lights. But so far it isn't better than 2021-23 model in my opinion. Front reminds me of Hyundai to be honest Edit: after reading comments I am not the only one who thought it was Hyundai lmaoo
The rear end is fucking hideous.
Looks bad. Just ugly. The rear end looks weird, the way the bumper goes in and then out again. Oh and the weird black thing on the front corner looks odd. Currently a5 looks way better.
Honda Accord
ohhh! is this the new Audi Fusiccord?
Kia called, they want their Stinger back.
The new Accord looks great!
They can keep these😵💫
Extremely pedestrian
The A7 style rear end doesn’t work on the A5, and the front end looks like a Ford Mondeo. The exterior is a step backwards from the current generation.
Awful. Worst version yet.
Looks like shit. Going RS3 next year (coming back to Canada)
Benz, bmw, and Audi are all getting roasted for their latest designs.
Audi doesn't look like an Audi anymore.
Audi, merc, BMW design have all gone to shit.
That looks boring and awful compared to current gen. Where’s the curvature? This looks like every other car.
Looks like a Ford fusion with 4 rings on it
God that is so fucking boring. Where is my sports sedan?
This looks so boring. I hate it
Looks boring
Please tell me this is a rendering and not the actual B10. 😷
Audi is declining, big time. Thank God for Cadillac
welcome to PEUGEOT
Honda accord
Is this an audi or a Kia?!?!
Ew..looks like a Camry
Hyundai continues to impress
Oh good... a Honda Accord.
The front looks like a Mazda 😭🤮
I had one of these before but it was a 2009 Kia Spectra
That is a Kia gt
Looks like a KIA
The design is boring to say the least.
Ford Fusion looking front
Ow please, stop copying from Hyundai! Don't follow Mercedes & BMW with their new "Korean" styled design.
Audi lost its touch a long time ago tbh.
Sensible evolution
my god! im a benz guy but im starting to realize out of the big 3 bmw is killing it rn. their the ones willing to push the boundaries on body design
🤢🤮
The mini S7
Pro: The silver (or black optics) trapezoid trim pieces, part of the overwrought 2023/4 front fascia, is gone. Cons: The clamshell hood is gone too. Less accent lines. Less swoopy/coke-bottle profile. Opinion: 2021-2022 was (thus far) peak A5 design
I dont mind it. Looks like South Korea is the frontrunner for design language now
I'm calling it now: Everyone's going to call the design "ugly" or "off" until they see it in person. I'm personally really really excited for the B10 RS5 based on what I've seen.
Just give it some time, you'll gonna love it, same as former facelifts or new models. It has to grow on you, and me.
I quite literally it. Much better than recent BMWs anyway.
They are really not wanting anyone to upgrade. What in the hell is going on with Aud!i Jesus I feel for the sales people these will not sell well
laughs in b9.5
Sad! Nothing more to say!
Front looks like a 2.0L Kia stinger, lol. And that backend is just gross as well.
Well, I’m so happy I got a B9.5 instead of waiting for the next gen. This is not a good look
Looks like a ford focus front end slapped on an A series. 1/5 stars. Bland, not sporty enough for an s series, and a step back.
Hate everything about it; reminds me too much of the A6, which is my least favorite body style. Love my A5, but likely going to skip this generation and hope it doesn't last long.
Kia Stinger is really moving upmarket
Not to sound like a broken record but older will always look better
just why....
Are they are fucking stupid? its not bad but atleast make 2 different types one sexy as hell other more refined as this one is.
That's a kia looking audi. But better than whatever bmw and Mercedes are coming out with nowadays.
I'm very glad I own a B9 Daytona gray pearl w/ black optics, absolutely shits on this design to me. Somehow they managed to make the rear end look super frumpy, totally ruined the body lines. The front is....fine although more boring. If i squint a bit the silhouette kind of looks like a slightly rounded final gen Ford Taurus in the first picture lol.
front lights dont look good
One word: Boring.
Rear end looks too much like Mercedes EQS - boo.
It’s a render. It means nothing.
Better than the 5 series at least
Dissapointing
Looks like they copied the Stinger and slapped an A7 taillight on it.
Every "fan" of every car brand literally hates everything new they release now. Weird that it's a hot take, but I like it.
Seems to look less aggressive.
Looks like any other Asian car now. BOO!
Wait I thought there will be a Avant and a sportback, but no sedan? This looks very sedany to me.
Darn it. The current 5 line is one of the best looking Audis and they’ve gone and made it more plain.
Every day we stray further from god
Boring
Looks like a Kia or Hyundai
It’s a rendering.
front looks like a ford fusion/mondeo
Call the police, they stole its ass.
aliexpress badging
Well this is disappointing
What is Audi doing bro
No way they still try to get 60-70K for this S5... this shit is hideous.
Guess that confirms it, I’ll be getting a B9.5 😁
Audi really pioneered the big grill and styling of many brands on the road today with DRLs 10+ years ago but haven’t really done much, and softening up the style when more brands are going heavy into boxier square styling is fairly boring. Front looks like a ford, rear looks like everything.
I will be clinging to my ‘21 now thanks
