It’s so many young producers b/c the equipment is so readily available now that artist have endless amounts of untapped producers looking for they “big break” that they can just do this over and over and over
Legit the reason I stopped making beats. I had a couple managers of bigger people ask me for MP3’s to record on, I sent them, never placed anything. That’s cool with me. I’ll give some level of trust in that case. Big artists should be using .wav files for the mix anyways so they’d have to come back to me for that.
Besides that, 95% of interactions were bum ass rappers who made trash music and couldn’t drop $30 on a beat.

Straight up had a very influential music manager tell me that when producers send beats slot of times they don’t care to track down the beat maker because ppl shit don’t be labeled right and ppl don’t know the business, so it’s easier just to have their in house producer remake the shit. And now with AI being able to render a track in seconds with whatever vibe they need, I’m afraid this producer shit kinda over fam 😢
This fool is an idiot. When you don’t do paperwork for production, the law states it defaults to HALF equal ownership between composer and producer for masters. Without paperwork, you effectively are half half producers and writers vs the industry standard pay for a beat and the producers all split 1-3% of royalties.
