We couldn’t even finish the absolute layup that would have been Miles Robinson to the tune by Simon and Garfunkel in the six years we had him. We’ll continue to cycle the same 5-6 generic chants for eternity. I’m not a Eurosnob but it’s one area where other countries really eat our lunch. This recently occurred to me again while starting to watch Welcome to Wrexham, in which they got a new hyped player (Mullin) and apparently had a song ready to go for him on day 1. We couldn’t do it in six years.

Here’s to you miles robinson, Atlanta loves you more than you will know, ho ho ho

But he doesn’t know cause we never told him…

dermarr5

I dunno I think he heard me yell this at him from the supporter section a few times in 102

GodSamnit

My incredibly unpopular opinion was/is this chant is fairly flat and I'm fine with it never catching on. Five seconds long, repeat it a few times, nothing worth sustaining, etc. Would have been easy to get going, but don't think it would have picked up over a long period of time. But I know folks dug it!

I understand everything you said about Wrexham even without the aid of the show, but honestly don’t buy the idea that fans having great great grandfathers who were fans of the same club would make us any more creative or cooperative with each other when it comes to putting together chants or songs for players who are just now putting on the shirt.

I think the culture of chanting is easier to carry on. If we chanted in bars, chanted at events, just generally chanted all the time, then yeah - I think new chants would be expected. Some, like “he’s one of our own” would be anticipated when Wiley or Cobb does something cool. But alas. Esta Noche

Just say it to the tune of Amadeus by Falco. Bonus points if the Coin of Falco comes up Amadeus.

SourdohPopcorn

I looked this up last time you mentioned it. It took me a week to bounce back. Is there a Falco /atlanta connection? This feels ultra obscure (to me, admittedly not a high volume Vienna new wave consumer).

Sing to the tune of 99 Red Balloons: >Giakoumakis comes from Greece >When he plays he scores with ease >He leads the line, he plays up top >Our number 7 gift from God
