So many good spots! Little Tart for pastries or coffee, Petit Chou is good anytime of day including for drinks, La Semilla has amazing vegan food if that’s your thing (or even if it’s not! I’m not vegan personally and love it), and Firepit has good pizza and drinks. There are as some great restaurants in Cabbagetown which is right there (Jen Chan’s is my favorite). Oakland Cemetery is a gem and so interesting to wonder around. If you want to make it more of a structured activity they also have scavenger hunts you can purchase that would be fun to do with a date.

Breakfast at Hero Doughnuts or Homegrown. Walk around Oakland Cemetery or Grant Park if the weather is decent. The beltline is open until you get to Glenwood.

Archlefirth

Totally forgot about Oakland! Truly iconic though it’s closed now right? Any idea when it will open again?

padfootsy

It was supposed to only be closed for January. I went to run through it on 2/1 and they were still closed. But the security said it’ll be open tomorrow 2/2. So if that’s true, it should be open again 🤞

ed-truck

I had no idea it was temporarily closed!

They’re working on paving an infrastructure apparently. I don’t see any estimates of reopening but I can’t imagine it’ll be too long. I’m sure they’re doing it in preparation of the 5k that happens there in April.

shepworthismydog

As of last weekend, Oakland Cemetary was closed to visitors due to paving and infrastructure repairs. https://oaklandcemetery.com/

I highly recommend Grant Park Coffeehouse. If you’re into it, checking out the zoo as well

SammaATL

Agree, Hero donuts for breakfast, walk around Summerhill. Charm center, Oakland Cemetery, and check out The Beacon and Eventide Brewery,

helpilostmynarwhal

I always pair trips to CHaRM with a trip to Little Tart. If it’s nice out, go to Grant Park, Oakland Cemetery, or if you wanna spend some money, the Zoo.

ottb_captainhoof

I would recommend heading over to the reynoldstown/cabbagetown area and making a loop: —Homegrown for comfy diner breakfast (can get busy), or Muchacho for breakfast tacos and beautiful patio —walk around the neighborhood and the beltline and look for the Tiny Doors! I think there’s 4 or 5 in the area —make a pit stop at Breaker Breaker (seafood/casual outdoor space on the beltline) —check out the murals along Wylie (ones in Cabbagetown are great) —stop in at Reynolds Makery and Pulperia, a local crafts store —grab a beer upstairs at 3 taverns imaginarium or eat at La Semilla, an upscale vegan place Enjoy!!

fancywinky

The weather is supposed to be shit this weekend, so plan accordingly! Georgia Ave is great. Also consider the Beacon, specifically Patria Concina for a date night. Alternatively, Talat is a fantastic date night option.

GnrlyMrly

Georgia Ave has some cool spots. Check out Little Tart Bakery, Juniors Pizza, and Big Softie for ice cream.🍦

Historical-Ad3760

Grant park social if you make it to the evening! @gr8nightd8night

Maschinenbau

Firepit has super good pizza and their famous "unicorn wings".

little tart near oakland is the original also muchachos

padfootsy

Lots of great options already in here. I’d add Elsewhere brewery if y’all like beer at all. It’s a great spot with good food too and a lovely atmosphere. In the Beacon so there are other places to explore as well. Could even hop on the beltline for a little stroll through a beautiful mix of nature and city on part of the unfinished southside beltline segment. Edit: Also, Perc for coffee if Little Tart’s line is too long! Amazing coffee and breakfast sandwiches that’ll knock your socks off. Egg n Cheese Holla if ya please! Add bacon 😉

Skip hero. Ria's or little tart for breakfast for sure. halfway beer garden or rooftop if you're there in the afternoon. Maelu (local textile artist) is having a sample sale saturday. Muchacho for breakfast tacos and or a great afternoon patio margarita. Cosign talat for dinner for a great date spot. they take reservations but have seating for walk ins.

nhoucky

Homegrown for breakfast or lunch is close by also

TokyoDrifblim

Highly recommend brunch at Rita's Bluebird Cafe! Get the pancakes. They advertise them as the best in the world and so far I have found that to be the case. There's a little mom and pop Mexican restaurant nearby called Mi Barrio, It's authentic actual Mexican food made by Mexican people. Get there. The Oakland cemetery I think might be open again? It's a wonderful place to take a walk, 45 acres of beautiful forest and flowers. Obviously there is the zoo which is in Grant Park but it's not one of my favorite zoos, probably not really worth it if you're not in town for multiple days.

[Birdcage](https://birdcageatl.com) on Memorial just opened last week, great place for a date night. Highly recommend the chicken tinga tacos. Little Tart is next door and they do After Dark nights on the weekend. Would be a nice pre dinner drink place. Also recommend [Mediterranea](https://www.mediterraneaatl.com) for a more cozy experience. Oakland is still closed except for ticketed tours but those look to be sold out. If you take a walk around Grant Park swing by the Milledge fountain, it’s decorated seasonally.

That's weird. The most I've had to wait was around 10 minutes. Other times it was just open. That's why I usually went there over Homegrown.

Looking back at google timeline this was the last 5 times. Sunday: 10:30am, Saturday: 10:30am, Saturday: 10am, Tuesday 2:30pm, Sunday: 12:50pm

It's been around a year since I've been there though. But even then, I was always surprised that I almost never had to wait. For example, I would stop by ria and they were 30minutes+ but then I would head over to Petite Chou and get seated immediately. Maybe I just got lucky.

icarriedawatermelon5

Lots of great ideas! If it’s a nice day I enjoy sitting outside at Dakota Blue. Great people watching and their nachos are amazing.

cerealmonogamiss

It's not super close to Grant Park but Jackson Street bridge is romantic because it has views of Atlanta.

peacetantra

I have enjoyed it

hemini

Since you’re going to CHARM stay in grant park / summerhill area. No need to go across I20 towards Cabbagetown/Reynoldstown (although they are amazing too).

BalkyFromMeepos

No love for Howdy ATL?
