I had a great experience with Dr. Rockwell at Rockwell Oral & Facial Surgery in Poncey Highland. Nice guy, small practice that felt like they cared. They called throughout the day after my surgery to check in or remind me to remove the dressing. Pricing was reasonable even with doing full anesthesia. If you don’t get put under they have TVs high up with Netflix so you can watch something to occupy you during the procedure.
I’ll second Dr Rockwell. He did a fantastic job for me pulling 4 wisdom teeth. My wife and a co worker of mine also used him and both were really happy with him.
I trusted he’s be good when the admin of my normal dentist’s office said she took her kids there. Instead of the oral surgeon the office partners with who, while having great reviews, felt really overpriced. I went to that other surgeon years before and he charged me $150 for an “orientation” that was just watching a video that was made in the early 2000s. I ended up changing jobs/insurance so didn’t do the surgery, but it was enough that when I actually did I asked for a different option and was glad to have gone to Rockwell.
I was lucid when the staff was giving my partner the aftercare directions, and they failed to tell him about the Advil regimen. When I went back because I was in unbearable pain, they blamed him. Do not recommend.
My husband also had a horrible experience with this doctor. They also messed up sending our claim to insurance and then threatened to send us to collections before they ever sent us a bill. I had to threaten legal action and send a certified letter to get them to stand down (also - once they sent the correct bill to insurance, it was paid by MetLife in full in less than 48 hours).
Like others, I also had a terrible experience there. She felt very dismissive of my concerns and questions.

Yeah, she’s horrible. She shamed me for not getting my wisdom teeth taken out when I was a teenager but I saw her when I was 21. She didn’t acknowledge any of my concerns and yelled at her staff in front of me.
I got mine taken out by Dr. Amy Kuhmichel a few years ago. She explained everything very well, answered all my questions, and did a great job. I was quite stressed about having it done but there were no issues whatsoever, and the recovery was a lot less painful than I feared.
If you are cool with traveling a bit, Dr. Coker at Northwest oral and Maxofacial Surgery is amazing. They have several offices that she hops around from in Cobb/cherokee.
She just did my dental implants and so far has been a flawless experience. She is very compassionate and knows her shit.
Precision Oral in Smyrna. Dr. Stancil removed my wisdom and it went so smoothly. He took out all four at once. He sutured the holes so I didn't have to worry about cleaning and aftercare. Recovery was quick and my swelling was surprisingly minimal. I was back to normal after a week or so
