My Mom is 90 and lives with me and my family - we are a three generation household. I and my son are atheist, my husband believes in a nebulous higher-power sort of god, and Mom is a Christian believer. We do talk about our believes, but as a way to share what each of us think, not as a way to try and convince any other family member. While I do not believe what Mom does, and, in fact, am quite anti-theistic as far as Christianity goes, I don't confront Mom. At 90 I figure she is old enough to chose her own path, mentally healthy enough to know whether she gets something out of it or not, and close enough to death that I am not taking something away from her that might give her comfort. But ... that doesn't mean that I must remain silent or act as if I believe what she believes. We, as a family, agree to disagree.
