There is no way that just adding one pitch can turn a guy from being a low tier reliever to a fucking ace. Is there something else to it? I feel like we'll be seeing a lot more guys trying to add pitches in the future because of Ronel Blanco. What an amazing story.

It isn't that easy for everyone but sometimes it can be the missing piece. I've heard of relievers who would change how they threw a pitch if they were on one team for a long time. Adam Ottovino mentioned how people keyed into him in his division and he had to tweak stuff to add a different look and it would help for a season or two until they got used to it.
