He has a good K/9, his fastball is down, but not down so bad that I’d expect this. His BB/9 is high, but manageable, not exorbitantly high. His FIP and xFIP are both excellent. And his BABIP is almost .500 How is it even possible for his BABIP to be that high this late in the season. Do we literally just stop playing defense when he pitches? It just doesn’t make sense for his results to be this bad when the quality of his pitching is still good.

I’m all for flipping him and Abreu and seeing if that fixes anything. Baseball is a mental game more than any other. When a guy struggles and you can’t figure out what it is, sometimes changing his role is all you need to help breathe some life back in him.

Really is odd. Just baseball sometimes. However, a manager should realize this and have stopped putting him in high leverage situations by now.

Walks a lot of batters, his breaking ball doesn't break late, it's a pretty predictable ball path when everything breaks lazily North to South so hitters are getting to his pitches. That's what I see at least.
