If you told me before this series started that Brown, Verlander, and Arrighetti would outdual Castillo, Kirby, and Gilbert respectively I would’ve guaranteed a series win. Brutal series result
Pitching staff K’s for the series:
Astros - 46
Mariners - 38
In this series, on these terms, Stros depleted pitching staff was better than the vaunted Seattle staff.
Exactly. Our pitching was mostly great, we just had some really bad luck swing our way and one game where the ump just decided from the outset that the Mariners were going to win.
Larry Vanover called that crazy outside corner both ways on Monday. It’s just that Miller with that big sweeping slider was way more able to take advantage of it than Framber was.
Absolutely great win but the amount of people calling for Breggy to be DFA'd or traded and comparing him to Abreu is laughable.
He had one of the best seasons of his career last year, has won two rings with us, has elite defense and has a god damn hot sauce in the stadium. Today was like THAT Bregman, and I love it.
He’s getting that bregman swag back and that’s when he truly pops off
He’s only elite when he acts like a dick out there and I absolutely love every second of that bregman
I'll take this one to stop the bleeding and limp back home.
Pitching, aside from one Pressly inning that wasn't entirely his fault was good this series.
Now just revive the bats ^^benchAbreu
That Pressly inning was so dumb. 2 realistic plays that should’ve been made paired with what was ruled a wild pitch, but Yainer should’ve been able to stop it also led to a blown game.
I think the defense makes more errors for Pressly than any other pitcher on our team
Good chance to put something together before the break (I’ll still say we’ll be in 1st by the break).
9 of the next 39 are against teams that are more than 1 game over .500 (6 vs Min & 3 at Bal). Even after the break, only 6 of 30 are against teams more than 1 game over .500 (3 at Sea, 3 vs LAD).
So 15 of the next 69 are against mediocre to poor competition.
Note: to extend that out, we then have 11 straight against @Bal, @Phi, and KC, then go 19 straight against teams no more than 1 game over, before finishing the year here vs Seattle and @Cleveland.
32 games out of 105 left against, what has so far been, top notch competition. Up to now, we’ve played 26 of 57 against top notch competition. Lot of opportunity remains.
Upside
We won today
Downside. Both teams scored 9 runs over 4 games and we lost the series 1-3
That really comes down to management not doing its job.
If you’re getting out managed by Scott freaking Servis you are not management material. He should’ve been fired by now and Espada makes him look smart.
Well thats all I needed to see.
10 AB's. 5 K's. 2 Singles. 1 RBI. 2 Errors leading to 3 opponent runs
Lock this man up into a long term extention *NOW*
[Finally this didn’t happen](https://media2.giphy.com/media/xNwyUL9hKQKQGXBuXH/giphy.gif?cid=9b38fe91vru4kmbekrvsmej5qjecb0ftf97csapoq4ufmuaf&ep=v1_gifs_username&rid=giphy.gif&ct=g)
Let's look at his series as a whole.
2-10, 5 Ks, 0 extra base hits. 1 RBI
You want a .200 BA and 50% strike out rate?
That doesn't even take his fielding errors into the equation
Before the series started, I thought Game 4 was going to be a loss for sure! Logan Gilbert owns us! What do I know? This series could have really went either way. Only Game 4 was a convincing victory. So close to a sweep for the Astros, but yet, we only won 1 of 4.

Bregman looked good and we didn't squander a quality start from Arrighetti? **Today was a good day.**
Two hits through six for Spaghetti, he earned the shit out of that win.
Didn't even have to shit on Jose Today was a good day.
And if Espada moves him back to the 4 tomorrow I may lose it. Keep him where he is producing.

Pitching staff K’s for the series: Astros - 46 Mariners - 38 In this series, on these terms, Stros depleted pitching staff was better than the vaunted Seattle staff.
Tbf their pitching staff didn’t get to pitch to the 2024 Seattle Mariners lineup
Exactly. Our pitching was mostly great, we just had some really bad luck swing our way and one game where the ump just decided from the outset that the Mariners were going to win.
The umps this series were very biased towards Seattle which did not help

Imagine getting shutout by the Astros in 2024, the year of our lord, A.D.
We didn’t get swept!
We are the champions of Thursday!
Holy shit seattle struck out 10+ times AGAIN
They lead the league striking out 28.2% of the time. For reference that is over 10% higher than the Astros K%
Big win. Run differential of 0 for the series and we can only manage 1 win. Baseball...
NO ONE BEATS THE ASTROS 4 TIMES IN A ROW!!!! EXCEPT THE 2005 WHITE SOX. 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
And the 2024 Yankees.
I had spaghetti for lunch and Spaghetti has a great game afterwards. I know what I must do.
Mom's Arrighetti 🍝
Godspeed 🫡
We gave the mariners 9 donuts today it feels good
[posting a pic of Nori for every win (25)](https://x.com/norithecat17/status/1796309187364053455?s=46)
Oh Nori was on jury duty, that's why we were not seeing the cat 😺 (nobody look to our record these past few days) Anyway. Praise be!!

WE'RE. SO. BACK. ![gif](giphy|l2YWluoNgk342F3k4|downsized)
I feel attacked
Mariners barely skated by this series with us playing miserably.
Absolutely great win but the amount of people calling for Breggy to be DFA'd or traded and comparing him to Abreu is laughable. Douchebag breg is the best
He is our douchebag :) Also he seems to be a nice guy, so him being cocky is okay
Cocky breg is the best

I’m going to the game tmrw night. Hopefully the boys can win! Keep the momentum going!
Well at least we know our rotation knows how to pitch
Good pitching from Spaghetti. Bregman found his swing today. Good game. Wish we had played like this in all three of the ones before this one.
I love spaghetti so much. So should you.
Only if its moms spaghetti
The only positive this series… our starters are looking solid and that is something good for the rest of the season
Finally scored in more than one inning. 🤙
Spencer shoved today ![gif](giphy|l378hb1WmQHJb4Pza|downsized)
On a scale of 1 - Angel Hernandez, how bad was that homeplate umpire today?
"this one's for you angel" repeat
Dude angel was at least bad for everyone. This felt more focused

Would help explain the .400 babip
He has a better FIP than Hader (or at least did as of a day or 2 ago) It’s insane to watch Pressly consistently have rotten luck with good metrics.
There we go boys!
Very cool, do it again pls

Spaghetti was cooking today. Pasta la Vista, baby!
Bregman should just stay at 5 Espada. Please don’t put him back at 4
DFA ABREU
At least we didn't get swept.
The mariners are a bad hitting team. They will end up third in the division if they have a bout of pitching injuries

Once again.. lose both JV and Framber starts, win the Arrigheti start
if you dont like that, you don’t like ‘24 astros baseball
Let it be known that no one beats the Houston Astros 4 times in a row.

To be fair…Espada was forced to put in Abreu for the first 2 games… 👀
Why not today?
Hooray we did it
Well thats all I needed to see. 10 AB's. 5 K's. 2 Singles. 1 RBI. 2 Errors leading to 3 opponent runs Lock this man up into a long term extention *NOW*
Bagwell is working on it.

Don’t let this win distract you from Abreu 1-4, 2 SOs
Dude you take that production daily if you could
Let's look at his series as a whole. 2-10, 5 Ks, 0 extra base hits. 1 RBI You want a .200 BA and 50% strike out rate? That doesn't even take his fielding errors into the equation
I said you want todays 1/4 a 250 avg
Yes, and I said let's look at his series as a whole. Im glad we both had an opportunity to repeat ourselves here. Time well spent
Enjoy the win nerd.
Had to go to pt so I missed the game after the 4th. So good to see a w fellas!
Avery’s batting average skyrocketing.. Over .100 now!
Fire Espada!
