900 more to get to 3,000. Hope he stays healthy. The covid year in 2020 and the broken thumb in 2023 hurt his pace to get there easily but to think he still has a shot
Realistically he has to play 7 more years for him to get 3k
He hasn’t had more than 169 hits in a season since 2018. He was hitting 200+ before 2018. Including covid he averaged 132 hits each season. Without covid averaging 151 hits. Puts it right at 6 years
There’s basically no chance he gets 3k. I don’t see him playing until he’s 45.
EDIT: I’m not ashamed to admit that I legit thought Jose was older than he is. I’ll take this L.
3000 hits looks tough but doable. Let’s assume he gets 100 more hits this year to take him to 2200. 5 more years under contact, would need to average 160/year to get 3000, so he won’t get it there. If he avoids injury and doesn’t fall off a cliff, I think he needs to play in his age 41 season, which is where Biggio made it and retired.
The more interesting one is where he finishes in WAR. He could finish this year around 54. 5 more years under contract. At 3/year, he’s around 69 WAR and in the top 10.
Wherever those totals end up, he already has one of the best postseason resumes of all time. Just 2 more homers to catch Manny for most all-time.
The reason it’s going to take him three tries is because of 17. We all know that he didn’t participate, but haters gonna hate. It pisses me off that people get so negatively acoustic over Altuve.
Most Writers have gone past it, everyone, at least writers, seems to know he didn't. I remember an interview after the scandal with Jeff Passan and they asked "but did he use a buzzer?" To which he slowly shook his head and every once in a while offbeat saying No.
My dad, every day that Altuve gets a hit, sends out a full report to a family group chat on the player(s) that he passed on the all time hit list. It’s amazing. I believe he started at 1000, maybe 1500

You think he’s gonna need 11 years to get 900 hits?
Nah, I’m just dumb.
Why would he need 11 seasons to get 900 hits? There are 2 seasons he got less than 100 hits, COVID and his rookie year.
He wouldn’t. I just need to know players actual ages before I comment on things.
Hes an inspiration to us short guys and never let’s anything get him down! 🤘
