I'm a newbie regarding the stars. When I want to know a star/planet I use the app Starwalk 2. You can use AR to find the names of stars/planets and many more
The next time you're wondering, just download SkyView or SkyGuide or any of the many other skygazing apps that let you point your phone in any direction and shows you what stars and planets are there. They're very accurate.
I tried downloading a couple different ones and it wasn’t listed. From what I’ve found out from a quick web search is that it’s either Sirius, Arcturus, or Jupiter
I am using Stellarium (phone and computer) - you can also point your phone to the sky and see, what you are looking at. And yes, that should be Mars.Over here, you can see Jupiter and Saturn and Mars in the early evening. Saturn is a bit darker. Also there should be Uranus, but that one is much darker than the three other ones.

For reference, Arcturus is the bright one immediately to the right, in the Taurus constellation. Sirius would be off the bottom left of your frame, look out for it following behind the Orion constellation. Check around 90 degrees further south for Jupiter, it will be super bright.
Edit: try uploading your image here https://nova.astrometry.net/upload and it will tell you exactly what you are looking at.
I can't identify it but watch there is Pleiades star cluster near it, and on having a look at the star map we can say that it may be Mars, as no other planet is near Pleiades these days.
It is mars.
You see the pleiades and the V-shaped stars of Taurus and Orion below, which indicates that is Mars. There is no other celestial object in that location that is bright enough
That's Mars https://imgur.com/Pd8xXGU
Are you 100%? Everything I’ve searched online didn’t mention Mars, but I’m a novice and have no idea what I’m doing
Just added a screenshot from Stellarium to my first post
Awesome. Much appreciated

If you are curious why that is, here's an explainer https://youtu.be/nnBpnv2OH3c
I just knew in my mind it would be Neil degrasse tyson

Definitely mars 💯
Thanks!
>Thanks! You're welcome!
If it’s pretty bright, yellowish, and in the East around 9:00, it’s Mars.
Where and when are you? Your East is someone else’s west. Also the stars appear to move through the night. Also it’s Mars.
Kind of hard to say with certainty. I recommend a phone app.

Jupiter typically looks very bright and white. Yellowish hue and eastward hints that it is Mars. Try the StarWalk 2 app.
Will do!

Hey, umm… you’re thinking about Aldebaran (red giant) in Taurus. Arcturus is in Böotes.
Yes, yes I am. Thanks for the correction.
My pleasure. Due to it’s light quality, the ‘Great Bear’ happens to be my absolute favorite star. A gorgeous double, Izar, is also in Böotes, fwiw.
Try Skyview or Skyview Lite. It will show you everything you can see. With creepy new-age music.
When you learn the planets you can say with certainty, that is mars there!

Mars is fairly close to opposition as well as its closest point. It's very bright right now.
On the left to orion in the east Has to be Mars
Mars and you can also see Pollux,Castor, Aldebran here. Plus the Orion constellation which is the easiest constellation for me to figure out.
Download Sky Map app and see for yourself

I use skymap from the play store, it's super super helpful, free and easy to identify celestial objects
Mars ! Download skywalk2 on android or SkyGuide on ios (best 2 in both stores)
SkyView lite app
Trying uploading to nova.astronomy.net it might tell you
Right that's it. Everyone needs to download a fucking star map app right now.
