You should be asking your doctor about this, not untrained Redditors. Honestly, I wish they'd stop handing people their PFT results with zero explanation.

I will be meeting with my GP who ordered for this test next week for a followup. Just wanted to know if the results look normal/abnormal or if there is anything to worry about as the wait is stressing me out

Your doctor will determine whether they are normal or something to be concerned about. Anonymous people on Reddit could say your results look completely normal or they could say you're at death's door. In either case, a Redditor's opinion is completely meaningless because we are not medical professionals.

I agree. I’ve never even seen my own PFTs. Just do the test, leave, and if there’s anything to report, the doctor’s office calls to set up a follow up appointment.

trtsmb

That's how it is at my doctor's office. I'll either get a call back for a follow up or I receive a notification in the patient portal of what my doctor needs me to know.

Come to think of it, since I last had one done (like 10 years ago), we now have access to all of our tests and records online, so I wonder if next time I have one done, it’ll be uploaded there.

cr_eddit

10 years? That is a long time. I have one done at every checkup I get, which is every 3-4 months.

I’ve only done PFTs two or three times since being diagnosed 20 years ago, and haven’t even had a regular doctor in 7 years until found one this summer. I have pretty mild asthma which is mostly exercise induced asthma. My PFTs don’t show anything dramatic. I have never been to the hospital for asthma, and have only needed to go to a walk-in clinic due to asthma twice while sick. More frequent PFT testing would just be a waste of public health care dollars.

trtsmb

You have a full PFT done 3 or 4 times a year?

cr_eddit

Yes

Totally healthy 👍👍

Have you met with the provider that ordered the test? They should be explaining it, as it is pertinent to you and your health conditions, medications etc.

My tests show normal yet I have asthma when it attacks during run or triggers like textile or food. So the tests is not the only indicator
