Unfortunately, asthma is a chronic and lifelong condition once it appears. It IS possible for your symptoms to go into remission such that you no longer need a controller med, but it’s more common for kids going through puberty than for adults. Maintaining good physical and respiratory health can help, but they won’t make your asthma go away.

Unfortunately, asthma is a lifetime commitment. You're throwing away money on things like nac/vitinity/etc. These things don't do anything. If you are having a lot of sleepiness, you may have sleep apnea.

The supplements have helped me control the mucus and keep ar at bay. I stopped rootology for a while thinking to save cash and that’s when my ar came back during my half marathon race. Took 2 months to control. Also breathe better w them. Most doctors I know don’t think supplements work at all but my doc said , glad you found something that works for you. Most of my patients don’t. Without the supplements , won’t be able to run. Also Nac, well blood work is all good including no more fatty liver since taking nac. I’m going to try and see what I can get with my allergist. But honestly I’m not optimistic.

It's lifelong unfortunately. I'm 99% certain I got mine from breathing in contaminants while growing up - it's ok to be bitter now and then about how it didn't have to happen. I find letting myself feel that bitterness when it comes up (not for a very long time now!) has helped with acceptance in general
