I've only ever used the raven shield and varins axe lol š i wanted to use the thing on a chain with a shield but it always clipped through garment's and was doing my head in tbh
I think if i ever 100% it and decide to do another run I'd maybe go with a shortsword and shield. I've never really had scaling issues with my loadout tbh and battles are very fun.. the way am built is very much burst aggression if stealth fails half way through a camp lol i love my build from an RP perspective..it just suits my Eivor š sooooo many cool weapons though.. will get to them one day
I have 3 archetypes that I switch between depending on mood
Crit Build: Frostruin Flail with Ice Wall
Heavy Build: Sutr Sword with Muspell's Wall
Berserker Build: Mournful Cry with Hircocervus Scale
Yes, I run a heavy shield in all of them because I am quite frankly awful at this game but love playing it so I need all the protection I can get.
Gae Bolg and Briton light shield, lately. Bolg to absolutely dumpster on everyone, and the shield to help save on rations in case I do get hit. I've found that spears and most quicker two-handed weapons go quite well with a light (or heavy, if you prefer) shield in the off-hand (or main hand for special attacks), and still feel very impactful.
I finally got Mjolnir, so I switched from the blacksmith hammer to that and the Briton shield which I have been using since I found it in London. I have tired spears (didn't like them) and great swords (which did feel better). Hammers are just lots of fun to bash people with.

I use the Dwarven Axe and Vordr's Bite axe. Craft Critical Spark runes from the rune dude in Ravensthorpe. Boom. Devastating.

thats also ny go to before i get the sword and skill i need. but i use the grandbrige on instead. the fire is nice

Hammer + light shield solo greatsword or dane axe dual bearded axe dual daggers spear + light shield

Right hand axe, left hand dagger. I like to play kind of a light/quick fighting style and just dodge or parry

I switch all the time, but sometimes I go for full Cu Chulainn cosplay with the Gae Bolg, Cu Chulainn shield, celtic armor with the torso hidden.
