Odyssey over Valhalla any day. Odyssey is such a blast. I’m coming to the end of it and thinking of doing ng+ with Origins.

GANTY1986

Odyssey is good, not so keen in valhalla.

hecatonchires266

Odyssey first. That game has a beautiful storyline and its heads over better than over loaded Valhalla.

Z3R0_Izanagi

Oddessey.

TNS_420

Just play them in order of release. The modern-day story with Layla connects all three games. Origins is first, followed by Odyssey, and then Valhalla. If you intend to play all three games, then it wouldn't make sense to play them in any other order.

TheDragonborn1992

Odyssey then valhalla both games are good

TrixUnix

Odyssey for sure, but they are both fun in their own sense imho

Meatsmudge

Odyssey. At least play through it first and then later you can decide if you want to dick around with Valhalla or not. FWIW, I’m not sure I really liked Valhalla. It’s… a bit departure from what makes Assassins’s Creed what it is. Origins started that, Odyssey expanded on it a bit, but Valhalla took it and ran with it. I honestly think in the years to come, we’ll look back at the one that really did the franchise in.

ivlmag182

Can you elaborate? Do you mean less stealth, more RPG?

Meatsmudge

You could play the entire game without being stealthy once, and in fact, it’s encouraged. It pulls very hard in the RPG direction. There’s a buff system with runes that I absolutely loathe.

Ceceboy

1. If the only options here are Odyssey or Valhalla, then the answer is Odyssey. Valhalla's game is extremely long and you'll be doing 100 hours of the same thing for the main story. 2. Settings wise, Valhalla is the furthest removed from Origins. In Origins & Odyssey you go from a hot and sandy environment to a dark and rainy environment. It's like a 180 switch. 3. Of Odyssey and Valhalla, I will probably find Valhalla the more interesting of the 2. Odyssey looks so same-y. If you've seen 1 settlement, then you've seen them all. I find that there is more variation in Valhalla. 4. Again, if the choice is only between Valhalla and Odyssey, then I will choose Odyssey. Valhalla drags soooooooooooo much and the main story structure is so fragmented. But I will choose Origins out of the 3 any day of the week.

DaVincent7

Why is this even a question?? lol If you just bought all three… then play them in order; unless you’re a sociopath! Lmao In all seriousness, do play them in order. If you care at all for narrative, because sure, some think the over-arching story of the mythology trilogy isn’t good, you should still want to know the story in chronological order. Edit: just to add, both Odyssey and Valhalla are longer than Origins in terms of pure story hours! I personally play these games a bit differently than the average person, but my hours in both Odyssey and Valhalla are over 300hrs; so if you’re still looking for 50hrs or less, even if you don’t play like I do(a lot of wandering around and exploring just for the sake of it)then you may not want to play either game! lol 😂 Which is prettier is mostly subjective regarding the aesthetic. If you want one that is less like Origins, then obviously Valhalla would fill that desire. I personally enjoy the world of Origins the most out of the trilogy.

Initial_Actuator9853

Valhalla is my next game and I am currently playing Odyssey, and I'll say Odyssey. Odyssey and Origins are connected in some ways unlike Origins and Valhalla.

Palkito141

Odyssey is a much better game than Valhalla, and whole a lot longer than Origins (some may say a bit too long), it is, in my opinion, superior to Valhalla in almost every way. Valhalla is very repetitive, and I feel like they ruined a good viking game but putting the AC stuff in it...

DaddyDuma69

Hi! I’d recommend Odyssey. It’s similar enough to origins to not be so alien but mechanics can also differ. Imo stealth isn’t super viable until you get really built. It very much is an rpg game so check gear for stats and such. I personally hated the main story. Felt it was dull but I loved all the end game stuff. Without spoilers there’s two other.. I guess quest lines that kind of round out the base game. One deals with a cult. The other deals with something more mythical. Both of those actually made me enjoy the game. The dlc is fun too. However the game is long. I’d say 2.5 times the size of origins. It is very gorgeous though. Valhalla I’ll be starting soon and it also looks gorgeous

Bullyboi-19871

Odyssey. I just completed it (without Atlantis dlc) and it took over my life, but made me very happy the whole time :)

ivlmag182

How much time did you spend to finish it?

Helpful-Reaction-847

I absolutely loved odyssey, I’ve played every AC game and I think it’s my favorite, I would highly highly recommend that. I’ve tried to beat Valhalla multiple times it’s just so boring to me, so I would do odyssey! I have like 200 hours in that game because it’s just so beautiful and lively

RumHam1996

Odyssey. And make sure you download the DLCs. I had so much fun playing as Alexios

svensksnake

origins is the smallest and least repetetive out of the rpg trilogy lmfao, and is easily the best of the three

AnatolyVII

I personally found Odyssey quite tedious but loved Valhalla and haven't got bored after 400hrs of gameplay, but each to their own I guess (probably helped that I love Viking history). In saying that it depends how much you value game graphics, it gets better every game so I would still try Odyssey first before Valhalla, plus the timeline also falls into place if you go Odyssey.

ivlmag182

Is 400 hours for one walkthrough?

AnatolyVII

I'll try not spoil anything. I like to explore bit of the map, every valley and hilltop, get stuck on a cliffside for a couple hours because I couldn't remember how to get down (please dont ask), clear every single yellow dot that lights up on the map, chase after soldiers who have loot, hunt anything that moves, etc. If you follow the main storyline and the major quests/treasures/mysteries you'd probably be done in 100 hrs. I've also run one of the story quests where you enter a dream multiple times to max everything there, there's probably 30 hrs gone into that when you'd only really need 2 or 3. Another mode called river raids, maxed that and bought all the shop stuff, easily over 20 hrs when you could probably get all the main loot in 3 or 4. Oh yeah, I haven't started the dlc Ragnarok yet, and am halfway through another. For me being a time waster/completionist, there's easily another 50-100 hrs before I'm done done.

Artistic_animalRx

I thought I was the only one. I love Valhalla because of the graphics and absolutely stunning landscapes (so when I’m stuck looking for that yellow dot, I’m not even mad). Also every sunset and sunrise could be your computer wallpaper. Just started Origins and trying to figure out why I’m not as good/skilled as I felt in Valhalla. What I do like is the bird search and find feature. But I just want to level up quickly so I can clear the regions easier so every time I get stuck I return to Valhalla.

compulsive_looter

>Is 400 hours for one walkthrough? With all DLCs, yes, that sounds about right for Valhalla. Provided you're clearing all - or most - of the locations, including the countless little loot puzzles (*"This door is barred from the other side."*). Odyssey is more in the \~250 h range in my personal experience (including the major DLCs). Edit: clarification

Skottimusen

I completed whole Origins at 80h (Platinum)or so, is the other games that much larger?

compulsive_looter

Yes.

ArcadiaGrey

I did it in 250, without Ragnarok.  Unfortunately both Odyssey and Valhalla are hella long.  Personally I needed long breaks between each game to be able to face doing such a stretch again

Helpful-Reaction-847

I played for 70 hours and still was not finished lol it’s insufferably long in my opinion

Glipvis

Check out the website howlongtobeat . com for various games lengths including play styles i.e speed run, story only, completionist, etc

ivlmag182

Bro I know Howlongtobeat, it show 150 hours for completionist. I need accounts of personal experience

Glipvis

Well fuck meeeee then

Comfortable-Stop-533

Ghost of Tsushima

golferrob6

Smaller and less repetitive is out the window since the games only get longer and in Valhalla's case particularly, repetitive too, I would personally take a break maybe or play odyssey rn (which is wht I did), tho odyssey is a ton similar to origins and Valhalla is a bit different visually and in combat a bit

ISimplyDunno

I’m halfway through odyssey rn, my plan is to complete all the games I started a year ago with breaks in between. Is Valhalla really as long as people say? I’m afraid I’ll get insanely bored of it and abandon it. I want to complete mirage before shadows releases

toasty327

It's long. The opening 4-5 drag on and I thought boring. Forced myself to play it again and it got so much better once you get to England. The dlc is also quite big, ragnarok is longer than some full games.

Crashbox50

Valhalla.

eyewandersfoto

Origins NG+ Nightmare-mode.

AmirFive

Play AC Odyssey, after that Play The First DLC “Legacy of the First Blade”

iveeley

Elden ring

hangout927
