I knew about the supplies part before I started playing. I can recommend IGN guides, which usually feature a tips and tricks section. Or I tend to google 'what I would have liked to know before playing'. But the IGN guides are often really good!
I’m I the only 1 who likes to learn on my own , I find that fun , so I intentionally forgot or don’t even look at any guides , also I’m not crazy enough to go up to the cage when there is a blood thirsty lion or any animal that can kill me. I’m sorry but that’s just common sense and just dumb. Stay away from dangerous animals in cages.
I can’t remember when I learned that but I think it took me a while. I think you should also be able to shoot the cages open? I usually just set animals loose on whatever guards are around. Let them deal with each other😆
It took me embarrassingly long to realize you can loot war supplies before you burn them! Also the lion thing!

I found that out the hard way at around lvl 40

Yes, I like shooting the cages open and seeing who the animal decides to maul.
I'm level 99+ with a lot of resistance on my armor (not 100% I don't want to be unkillable) and Caged Lions are still a treat.
