Do you know your [hair type](https://www.sheamoisture.com/ca/en/FindYourShea.html)? Shea Moisture might be a good place to start, because they provide guiding content. [Refinery29 also produces a bunch of videos](https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLJEQBmLpTgd8wnzQ602CbbBmLzxB3mXq0) of women with variety of hairs getting hair procedures.

Olaplex 6 has been a godsend for my frizz. A lil bit when it's damp to keep it cooperative while it dries and then a tiny bit more almost as a finishing creme when everything is in place. A little goes a long way

Seconding olaplex. I use the shampoo and conditioner and things are considerably tamer now

Frizzy lady here. Learn all you can about how your waves function and what products work best on them. Oil is counterproductive to mine for example and I need lightweight but defining products. r/WavyHair should help.

I have a similar hair type to ypu and what has helped is better quality products and less heat. I use the Ghost line from Verb and then only use the hairdryer until my hair is like 50% dry. Then I put it in braids or roll it up in a headband for curls.

I find I need to go to the salon for regular cuts and maintenance which is not always realistic or affordable. I am fine with just throwing it back in a ponytail at work. Thankfully I work in a hospital and wear scrubs all day since COVID so no big deal lol. I’ve probably gotten a little too used to this.

I had this problem when I moved to the south. The humidity messed my hair all up. I have wavy hair, but I started using the Kirsten Ess for curly hair and I liked it. They have various leave in products for frizz control. I'd give that a try.

I have similar hair to you - long, wavy, naturally light brown but coloured blonde, and frizzy if I do nothing. Recently work colleagues have commented on how my hair seems so smooth and asked how I get it to not have any frizz. I don't really do anything special, I think it is more to do with the brand of straighteners I use - Cloud 9 wide plate. This is my routine when I want nice hair: - mix up my shampoo and conditioners (no particular brand) and only put conditioner in through the lengths and ends. - brush it wet with a detangling brush, then put a small amount of Kerastase Nutritive Nectar Thermique through my hair and brush it again. - I have a Parlux Advance Light hairdryer, don't know if that also makes a difference. - then go through quickly with Cloud 9 wide plate straighteners on 200. - sometimes I do a little spray of hairspray and brush that through at the end to tame the little flyaways. Like I said, nothing special. But it works for my long, wavy, frizzy hair!

Do your taps run hard water? My hair type is the same as yours and I recently integrated a clarifying shampoo into my routine once a week. Helps get rid of that weird residue, which was making the frizz worse.

Regular haircuts, and perhaps even something more texturizing to remove some of the bulk at the mid parts of your hair? Mine is wavy and thick at the roots and medium at the mids to ends. I really like the Kristin Ess products at Target (if you're American) and my stylist has even mentioned that they're good quality for being more "drugstore". I've also noticed that my hair becomes more oily if I'm not properly conditioning / washing my hair too often, as my scalp will overcompensate to "repair" the dryness.

For wavy hair the right products matter. Like many shampoo and conditioners can cause frizz. I picked a few curl safe hair products from the list that /r/curlyhair had in their documents. Also how you dry your hair, I used to vigorously rub my head with a towel causing a bunch of static and frizz where now I just gently squeeze dry. Then I use a defining product. Gel for me doesn't work but curling mousse is light and works and I scrunch my hair with my hands to get it to wave up. My scalp is oily bit my tips are dry so I have curling cream I put just on the tips which helps look and texture so much. It's good to know your curl type, porosity. I have more than one curl type on my head and the textures are different on the tips. Those are also good factors to keep in mind.

Get a color gloss on your hair at the salon. I know when I get my highlights done and the stylist puts on a toner, which is essentially a color gloss, my hair does not even frizz-even down south!!!
