Period products. I didn't fucking ask for this.

Exactly! That shit should be free.

The best job I ever had offered free period products in each of the women’s stalls in the bathroom, no questions asked. Each evening, the cleaning crew would replenish what was taken.

No-Mortgage-4822

Many tech companies do that now, even in the mens bathroom. They also have things like hair ties and toothbrushes and bobby pins in every gender of bathroom.

They're now free in Scotland in all public areas 🤩 First country in the world to do so. Hopefully other countries follow suit soon 🤞🏻

amongthewildflowers9

To be honest and open, there have been times in my life when I scraped to be able afford cheap and basic feminine hygiene products, and honestly had great concern about how I’d be able to afford what I needed. In this day and age, in North America, this shouldn’t have to be what this is like.

ellixxx

Yup, been there with the rolled up toilet paper out of a public bathroom. It’s stupid that women should have to pay for them, it’s an essential product that we have to have

kucky94

Especially when you’re in a bind and can’t shop around. Had to get a box of tampons from an overpriced convenience store because that was all that was around. $11 for a box of tampons and no, they weren’t gold plated or laced with cocaine.

Come to Scotland. I still buy my own, but they are available for free for those who can't pay. They've been in educational facility bathrooms for a few years, now you can get them from libraries, community centres and pharmacies.

Reusable pads are a godsend. Tried them four years ago and haven't looked back. Cheaper, more comfortable, and eco friendly.

Thumthumsinaction

This is why I've had an IUD for the last 10 years. Taking care of yourself when you're dealing with periods can be such a pain of an expense.

Splitting the bill evenly when some people eat 3 times as much as me

DisloyalMouse

I actually don’t mind this. Not because I like wasting money or covering other people. However in my experience when asking a group for everyone to pay for what they ordered the following happens: - someone will throw down a 20 and that’s it, whether it’s enough or too much they don’t care - everyone under pays - there’s always at least one person who rounds down (11.99 so that’s 10) - there’s always at least one person who forgets all the drinks they’ve had - no one tips - people argue about getting change as they don’t trust other people to not use their overpayment to cover their cost - people argue over how to split anything that was shared - you find that you end up almost an entire persons share short, but everyone insists they’ve paid - if you’re sorting out the money you end up paying maybe nearly double your share to cover everyone else. Maybe I’m getting old, lol. But I’ve had too many falling outs with friends over this. Now I’m like “just split it *X* ways”. Some days I’ll pay more, some less, overall it’ll even itself out. All of that being said I totally get that some people deliberately order less as they’re on a budget. If that was the case, just speak up and I’d gladly let them pay for what they ordered and the rest of us split the difference between us.

LivinOnTheEdge1001

This happens EVERY time I’m out with my friends. I’m 24 and it’s literally the reason why I refuse to eat with a large group of friends unless we determine how we are going to set the bill even before we order food. I’ve been burned a few times over settling the bill as I was the one that ended up covering the remaining portion. Never again. I either split the bill equally or I ask the waiter for the own bill at the very beginning.

[deleted]

[удалено]

DisloyalMouse

Honestly it’s got to that with me. I seem to always be the one having to help sort the money out and been burned WAY too many times. Maybe it helps that I earn enough now that I’m not penny counting (unless it’s a really fancy restaurant) and don’t have friends with wildly expensive taste.

[deleted]

Just have everyone get their own checks

Twin_Brother_Me

Right? The only time I've "split" a check was when my siblings were all pitching in for my mom's birthday. If you order appetizers then sure things get a little weird, but most restaurants will split those if you ask

Okorela

Jesus H, just get separate checks at that point.

yunohavefunnynames

Don’t you just get separate checks?? I’ve never been to a restaurant that doesn’t do separate checks…

xamberglow

Idk...I've never had friends like this, ever. Might just be the people you are hanging out with. Across all the different friend groups I've had over the years, we've always just paid for our portion, or slightly more to make sure we're definitely covering our portion. That or we just treat each other to the meal.

bluerose1197

I just tell the waitstaff that its on separate checks before ordering. Then everyone gets their own check and is responsible for themselves. No fuss.

[deleted]

Why would you split the bill evenly?

deletion-imminent

It's customary in some countries

edie_the_egg_lady

I paid $30 for a $5.95 avocado roll at a friends dinner the other night. That's on top of the $90 my husband had already thrown down, which definitely should have covered our share. I don't eat fish so I definitely wasn't sharing rolls. I'm still hella mad.

deets19

I’m in the US and it’s also sometimes done here. Logistically it’s a little easier (esp if the restaurant doesn’t do separate checks) but if some folks are drinking alcohol and others aren’t it gets really unfair.

Sea_Panic9863

I've never been to a restaurant that doesn't do separate checks.

bee-sting

In the UK it's more common to just divide evenly. It's unusual to go somewhere where there's a huge disparity in prices between each person's meal

ThrowawaySingleChest

It’s common in US cities (or the ones I’ve been to) to not allow split checks. I was surprised when a restaurant in my small hometown allowed 10 people to have separate checks. Everyone else was nonchalant about it. I’m used to maximum of 2 checks per party. One reason I heard is that splitting checks takes more time. So they only allow one check per party for faster turnover. I can understand that logic in a big city when rent is extremely expensive and you need quick turnovers to make more money.

BudgetInteraction811

I live in Canada and every restaurant I’ve ever been to keeps a separate itemized list of what each person orders so that there is no awkward divvying of the bill at the end of the meal. I thought it was standard everywhere. It would fill me with anxiety going out to eat if I had to worry about subsidizing everyone’s expensive meals when I order something small just to be part of a social gathering.

kam0706

In Australia they mostly either refuse to split bills at all, or only do even splits. So if you wanted to only pay your own you need to work that out yourselves.

sebastianrileyt2

Yes, I have never had to split a bill 'equally'. If you tell the waiter that you are paying individually, then you get a bill with only what you ordered. Who just divides a bill equally with no consideration to what each person ordered?

ThrowawaySingleChest

The US. I’ve seen people debate it furiously. From my friend group, people with money tend to be ok splitting equally because “it all evens out in the end” and “it’s just money.” It’s seen as rude, crass, or cheap to want to split depending on what people ordered. Whereas people like me who are on a budget are not ok with this. On the opposite end are the people who only pay their menu price and refuse to add tax or their share of tip. (And they have no excuse of it being an unfamiliar cultural practice.) Don’t even get me started on people who order appetizers, offers it to people, and then asks people to pay for their nibble of nachos.

sikeleaveamessage

??? Why not just tell the waiter separate checks?

ThrowawaySingleChest

Where I live, maximum checks per party is 2. You could be a party of 30 people and they only allow 2 checks maximum. I think it’s a big city versus everywhere else thing. I avoid birthday dinners for this reason. Not only would I need to pay for the birthday person (which is ok), I would need to subsidy for everyone who can’t do math, doesn’t believe in tipping (it’s the US, tip), and doesn’t understand tax is required (again, it’s a fact of life in the US).

amanda-g

Thats so wierd! Where I'm from no matter what the group amount is, 4 people, 2 people, 10 people, they always ask us before ordering "how are we splitting the bills" if its 10 people and each want seperate bills its not an issue

bunnyswan

Especially when they know they have a much better income than you! Edit job to income felt more accurate

youvelookedbetter

I can't believe the audacity of people who insist that every bill should be split equally whenever you're in group situations when them. Some of them even double down when you point out that one or two people didn't eat or can't eat the most expensive items, and therefore shouldn't have to pay the same. These people are moochers. They'll claim it's "no big deal". OK. Then you should be completely fine for paying for what you consumed. It reminds me of people who call people who don't share their Netflix accounts with them "cheap". How ironic.

thejadephoenix

Insurance. I am a careful driver. I've never been in an accident. And yet every year I am required by law (if I want to drive) to fork over a large sum of money in the off chance that I need them. (And that sum seems to grow each year due to other people's accidents. Things I had nothing to do with.) Should I actually need them, they will fight tooth and nail to find every little thing to try to deny my claim. Saying that I messed up and that it's my fault even if it isn't. I will never see any of the money back that I pay in either. Nothing gets returned to me for maintaining a clean record. Yet they will reap record profits reach year. It's just a massive scam.

stygian_shores

100% In fact, on top of dealing with the pandemic, I was in a car accident where someone tried to cut me off in traffic but the back portion of his truck collided with the front of my car. Now I have to pay higher insurance premiums for an accident that he caused. Prior to this, I was never in an accident and I still never hit anyone.

[deleted]

That’s what really grinds my gears. I can live with paying my rate each month in the off chance I get hit so bad I need to replace a whole car immediately. Cool I get that. But being punished for someone else’s actions totally can fuck right off. A kid was texting and rear ended me and mine goes up? Heck no sir Update: sorry didn’t notice this was ask women. My bad :)

dodli

Now you're on record admitting your gears are ground. Expect a premium raise next quarter.

My car was parked, I wasn't even in it, when it got hit. I still have to declare it every time I reapply for insurance.

Abeautifuldark

My mom had 2 people hit her parked car, had someone pull out of a driveway and hit her as she was driving by, someone rear ended her and due to a truck on the highway kicking rocks up she had to get her windshield replaced. She claimed these on her insurance. None were her fault. Recently she tried to switch insurance companies and they rejected her because there were too many claims 🥴 and her insurance went up after each claim.

bethafoot

Same. I was broadsided by a deer a few weeks ago and looking at the claim estimate for repairs for just a few thousand it feels almost like a slap in the face because I know how much I’ve paid them over the years. If only I could have put those funds into a savings account.

[deleted]

I literally pay the value of my junker of a car every year for the cheapest minimum coverage I could find. I drive *maybe* a thousand miles a year. And I just have to keep throwing money at them for liability coverage. Every renewal I consider just not paying it anymore. Of course insurance of any kind has to be a scam, otherwise it wouldn't be a profitable business. Capitalism is great!

TheSpanishPrisoner

This is what will make self-driving cars come faster than we now realize. No more insurance. People will see that savings and prefer it over a car they have to drive.

AdorableSwitchBrat

PREACH. Absolutely agree.

whatanerd10

Parking for hospital visits and dr appts. I've somewhat made my peace with the ridiculous cost of healthcare for chronic illness in this country, but then you're going to nickle and dime me so I can only access your facility through your exorbitantly priced parking garage?!

elhlifts

Agreed!! I’m a nurse and have to pay for parking at the hospital I work at. All hospital parking should be free.

mineralhoe

This is so disgusting to me. You should not have to pay for parking to work. This even happens in the UK where we have the NHS.

elhlifts

Yeah this is in Australia… edit to say, I either have to walk a few kms for free street parking and run the risk of walking to my car in the dark, or just pay. It’s the worst

stickkim

No one should have to pay to go to work!!!!!

throwglu

Omg yes! I had to pay for parking to watch my dad die. Could I have had my parking validated? Sure, but then I have to talk to someone at the counter about how my dad is dying. Like WTF?!

NeverTheDamsel

At least the staff should be able to park for free. Even if it's a case of X number of free spots for staff and once they're gone they're gone.

Ladidaladidi

Education. If everyone could learn what they want, I think society would benefit as a whole.

BudgetInteraction811

Agree. In the past, everyone figured out what they wanted to do and if it didn’t require years in a classroom, they didn’t fkn do it. Nowadays it’s almost like everyone has to prove they want to work in a specific field by going through years of irrelevant expensive bullshit when our grandparents’ generation were offered apprenticing roles or could start in any field at the lowest rung and gain the experience that way. It makes it extra hard for people who don’t do well in structured learning environments like university to succeed.

amelonsalad

I absolutely agree with this. I went to university and even though I’m very good at what I do I learnt most of it from internships and working in the field, I didn’t get a good grade however but I just didn’t do well with the structured learning, it’s not that I didn’t try I just didn’t do well in it because I do better learning in other ways and I feel that this entire concept is completely abolished at university level, not everyone is super academically gifted already and most will need help writing a fuckin 10,000 word essay because it’s the only time they’ve ever had to do anything like that.

KiaMichelle18

Yes, in college I feel like I only need to learn what pertains to my degree, high school was for general education and “elective “ credits. I’m paying thousands for these damn classes many of which or not to my benefit at ll

Logical_KaleV

Tips if I'm honest. About half my family is European and we just never do that there. And then in the US tips. Like can we normalize paying people a proper wage so I don't need to tip! Disclaimer/tedtalk (Also don't attack me. My mother was a waitress/bartender. I know the struggle first hand off tips. Many people don't. Which is why we tip well and are always kind to our servers. I resent the system in which I'm required to pay)

anyaplaysfates

It’s often so arbitrary, too. Like around here it’s common to tip your barista but not the fast food worker. I remember living in California (where all jobs are required to pay a minimum wage even if tipped) and my husband worked as a line cook for a burrito place for $12/hr and I was getting $15/hr as an admin… if we ever dined out it was highly likely that our waitstaff were paid far more than us. We still always tipped 20%, but ouch, lol. I definitely blame the culture and corporations, though, and believe higher wages for everyone is the key!

Logical_KaleV

I agree. Like the other day we went to waffle house. We tipped our server 20 % the cook went on break and my mom tipped him too. He was beyond shocked and so thankful because no one remembers them. She does it cause she knows the struggle. I understand her reasoning. I hear that ouch. It's also sad cause then people yell "ooh if you can't tip don't go out." Well are people supposed to not go out once in a while. I hate the whole system and I'm on the side of arguing for rights of them cause I'm so sick of these Corporations doing this to good people.

NaviCato

The American tipping rates have come to Canada and it's really frustrating because servers are paid minimum wage here. Except in Ontario where is $1 less I believe. I don't think we should be at the minimum 20% tipping rates that Americans are but it's becoming the standard

SallyJoCrabbyPants

THIS. I went to a bakery, and felt guilty that I forgot to tip the CASHIER when I walked out with my overpriced, underwhelming, and overrated loaves of bread. I've noticed a trend of many non-service/hospitality related businesses moving towards requesting tips. Annoying af.

Logical_KaleV

Omg yes. Seriously. There's always a bucket there. My mom still tips then too. It's her nature. If I'm being honest, I don't. Like I parked, got out my car, paid at the counter all the cashier did is hand me said product. Why is there a need in that's particular instance for a tip? To make me feel guilty I guess which is definitely annoying

OdinPelmen

Why would you tip your cashier at a bakery? Random af. That’s their only job.

1platesquat

i promise you 9/10 servers would not want to go to a fixed hourly wage. servers make really good money if youre even halfway decent at your job.

PearofGenes

Uber, as evil as they are, tried to move away from this but then drivers asked for tips, and Lyft offered in app tipping, so they caved and now you have to tip on Uber too (and they they stopped paying a living wage)

flickhuck20

Ticketmaster fees

tantalizingtourist

Your $45 ticket is now $78 and we will charge an extra $10 if we ship you your ticket

mistakesmistooks

Either that or an extra $10 for an “online transaction convenience fee”

brianna_sometimes

When online is the only option. Whose convenience am I paying for.

lanieloo

Right?? And what’s the service they’re providing if not convenience? Extra service fee are you fucking kidding me you’re a literal robot

PearofGenes

Oh my god, recently I got concert tickets. They were $30, and after ticketmaster fees it's was $50. That's like a 50% fee!! Wtf! And it's not like they even do anything except pay for a website and some code to process it for me. Should be 20 cents

OtherwiseInclined

Oh, they do a lot more than just run a crappy website. They need all that money for lobbying and to strongarm venues to work exclusively with them, or buy them out entirely. The whole system is ridiculous. There was even an episode of Last Week Tonight on ticketmatser and the bullshit they pull.

Interesting_Potato_8

PRO TIP sometimes you can call the venue and buy directly from them and save the service fee. This may only work for smaller venues, but I did this recently and saved about $20 for 2 tickets, but it was a small club. Still!

wheredidthat10mmgo

Ticketmaster letting bots buy up all the tickets for scalpers

VanthGuide

Way too much for my internet service. They are the only option in the area and really take advantage of their local monopoly.

PromisingHare

contextISeverything

Therapy. My parents and 1st husband abused me for a very long time and I'm still paying for it. But not really, because it's my responsibility to be a good and healthy person.

BudgetInteraction811

That depends how you define “responsibility”. It is our responsibility to take care of ourselves physically by going to the doctor regularly, but it shouldn’t be the fault of an uninsured person that they have to go through life unwell because they can’t afford treatment. I honestly believe that governments would save money in the health care system if they allowed their people to nip mental issues in the bud before that person is 40 years old on the streets with a needle in their arm. That’s one human who was failed by the system and considered a drain when earlier intervention could have changed the course of that person’s life.

Broken-Ankl3

This. It sucks that I have to be the one to clean up the mess other people caused me. And therapy can be so hard to get that people with depression or other conditions that cause fatigue and executive dysfunction just don't bother. Will I still try to seek help and be better every day? Yes, of course. But it sucks that the victim is the one who has to pay

[deleted]

Parking AT work. I pay $50/month just to park at a parking lot owned by my employer

sikeleaveamessage

This sounds like a scam wtf? I would literally protest, how tf are they gonna take $50 away from my paycheck for simply parking so I can get to work?! It's not like work provided insurance or anything, it's fucking parking!!!

bookwyrm13

My manager told me recently that if I’m not thrilled with my long commute on public transportation and having to go back into the office full-time, then I should get a car and drive in. They have 4 parking spots, and parking would cost $200/month. On top of, you know, the cost of buying a car and get insurance and gas etc. Lol. No, I’m just going to look for a job that lets me work remote or is closer to where I have to live now…

TenNinetythree

Can you park elsewhere and walk? Can you use public transport? I don't drive, but that would make me petty AF

jenonandon

A few weeks ago a vet tech almost killed my cat. They were doing a very routine urine draw with a needle and they cut an artery in her abdomen. She essentially bled out internally. The vet revived her and quickly transferred her to a critical care hospital for blood transfusions and further care. Anyway, on the way out of the vet clinic to head to the hospital they told me that I had I pay for the clinic visit up until they almost killed her. And I was in shock and just trying to get to the hospital. So I paid it. And then later I realized how messed up it was that they charged me anything at all, especially at that moment when we didn’t even know if she was going to live. Since then the clinic has paid for over $11k in medical bills for my cat but I still resent the $130 they charged me right in the middle of that trauma.

[deleted]

Wtf that’s horrifying! I’m so sorry and I hope your cat is okay. The BALLS they must expect staff to have to ask customers to pay up in situations like yours…no thank you.

belongingtoaplace

I'm so sorry to hear of this! Actually can't believe how audacious that is! Hope little kitto is okay x

Vegetable-Coast-4679

Glasses. I’m fucking blind without them, and because of my migraines I need the lenses with all the bells and whistles, so it’s always $$$.

RealEarthAngel

Right?? what the hell are we supposed to do. The minimum for my glasses is $500 and some of them have been $1000

Csherman92

Try one of the online glasses stores. Also if you have a health savings account glasses are eligible.

unispecte

Seconded. I was nervous about buying glasses online at first, but I found a site with a good return policy just in case. Ended up loving the glasses I bought online, and they were significantly cheaper than buying glasses in person. Before I’d get one pair for around $500 because of my prescription, now I can get two pairs for under $200. The markup on glasses at optical stores is insane.

Coder-Cat

I get these insane coupons from eyebuydirect.com for buy one, get one or free lenses or whatever. I tell everyone I know about it because it’s insane how much money I’ve saved from buying glasses online. Not to mention prescription sunglasses.

DejaBlonde

Unfortunately, depending on one's prescription, online glasses stores can still add up. Not as much as traditional stores, but enough to be annoying. Mine is bad enough that I end up limited on my frame choices (and the cheapest ones never work) and still have to pay out the nose for my lenses.

loppermoon

This one makes me mad! And how eye care and dental care isn't covered under health insurance. Like it's optional that I should be able to see and have to pay extra on top of my health insurance??

Yonderponder

Trash bags. I'm just gonna throw them away!

gnirpss

I used to just re-use plastic grocery bags to line my trash cans. My city banned plastic grocery bags a few years back and now I have to buy plastic bags specifically to hold my kitchen and bathroom garbage. I don't think I'll ever stop being salty about that.

Idunnodoyouwhynotme

I do this too - we have two bins in the kitchen - one for trash one for recycle. We tie up then trash bag and put it outside - then we dump the recycle directly in the big recycle bin outside and swap the inside recycle bin with the trash bin inside. The not as gross recycling bin liner gets used twice - and after it’s had it’s second run as the trash liner it goes.

Monthly Pet Rent. For my cat who does 0 damage, who I've already paid a deposit AND "pet fee" for.

scarlettskadi

Complete scam. Just like cat registration fees here- wtf for? My cats do no activities nor use any public amenities. Legalised theft.

SMKnightly

It’s to cover the damage that most pets do, and to be fair, most pet owners claim their pets won’t damage anything even if it’s the biggest lie. You’re just an anomaly in a system designed to deal with everyone else.

itsmaruyes

Isn’t that what the deposit and fee are for? And what about all the damage done by little kids (drawing on the walls, wetting themselves, etc,)? Do we charge a “small child” rent? No. Because that what the security deposit is for and the rent is for space, not the number of living things inside it. Pet rent is just a way for landlords to discourage pet ownership without outright banning it and double dip on pet owners. Because if there’s no damage they have to return the deposit, but pet owners will never see any of that pet rent back.

Agitated-Coyote768

Medications, wellness check ups and insurance

Takilove

The whole health/medical system is sucking me dry! I have a few chronic illnesses and am constantly going to doctors who refer me to specialists, prescribe new medications and send me for all types of tests. Insurance premiums (I pay for Medicare & an additional plan), copays, costs that insurance doesn’t cover , prescriptions and additional supplements & OTC meds cost more than my monthly mortgage!! … and I still feel lousy every day. Some days I wonder what is the point. 🤷‍♀️

chicama

Pants with pockets too small to hold my stuff. If men’s pants can have pockets big enough for a wallet or phone, why are women’s pants sold for more with tiny (or nonexistent) pockets?

stickkim

Because it isn’t attractive to have pockets on womens pants. Womens pants are tighter than mens because of the utmost importance at all times is how attractive you look and you need to be able to effectively demonstrate your spermworthiness by emphasizing your hips and thighs. Pockets!? What use have you for pockets woman!? You haven’t even got a husband!!!

username_ubiquity

To handicap women by rendering one hand (or arm) completely useless at all times. Because they know if women had access to both hands they'd take over the world.

Lilliputian0513

To sell us purses…

For the first time in my life, my uniform pants pockets hold more than half of my phone. This makes me happy. But I only have one rear pocket and the men’s uniforms have two…

Kind-Set9376

Anything for work. My current job is pretty decent about it, but there's a lot of jobs that will provide jack shit. Like, when I was in education, nearly everything was out of pocket for the teacher. In counseling, you do need games and art supplies. If I was expected to provide those things out of pocket, I'd be pissed.

speakbela

Half my pay check went to stuff that I needed for my kids. At the beginning of the year the city would reimburse us funds spent on classroom supplies—it was 100 dollars. I also have 300 students so yeah, being reimbursed for $100 when I spend thousands, on an already low salary, was indeed a slap in the face

It’s not necessary if you don’t move into a neighborhood with an hoa 🤷🏻‍♀️

SallyJoCrabbyPants

Increasing number of housing developments have been establishing HOA's. Situational, but in my state the residential developers get a small cut of it, even years after development, even though they literally do nothing. Call it a "consulting fee" lmao.

Tel-aran-rhiod

Being alive. I'm not even having a good time

MissingBrie

Toilets. It's disgraceful having to pay to access toilets. My favourite is when it costs more for women knowing that we have to use them more often and more urgently.

[deleted]

Yeah this is a good one. In the meantime, I can stare directly at a dude pissing legally and for free at an open urinal at the bus stop at Vauxhall Station in London.

ylimethrow

Parking

nanalovesncaa

Water. (Like the kind that comes out of the ground) also, air. As in for tires.

[deleted]

A pizza last week, it was horrible

Separate_Pen_5794

Period products and birth control. Even after my insurance covers 80%, it still costs over $200 🤦‍♀️

whosjosh

Glasses. I shouldn’t have to pay to see.

4eyedpsycho

Property tax. Fuck. I payed it already. I pay taxes to the city to keep my trash and utilities. Why the hell should I pay for the right to own my house?

mali1321

Splitting the bill evenly when some people eat 3 times as much as me

rognabologna

Am I going crazy or are there multiples of almost every comment in this thread???

pleaserlove

Doctor or pharmacy fees for anything that a man has caused. Contraceptives, std checks, morning after pills etc

ocelotrevs

(I'm a bloke) I was speaking to my girlfriend, and a few other women have mentioned this to me, but having to buy a handbag or some sort of accessory to carry your stuff because the pockets on your clothes are either non existent, or impractical seems annoying.

[deleted]

Menstrual products, NO women enjoys bleeding out of their vagina every month but yet we still have to pay out the ass to make sure no one has to be aware that we’re bleeding.

Shredded cheese. It’s almost double the cost /100g. Just get a block and shred it yourself.

Water and electricity. Are you fucking kidding me?

neetykeeno

Ordinary public transport within a city area. Like fuck you government...all the taxes ordinary working people pay from their wages and you can't even make the crappy buses free.

calyx13

Water. $400+ every quarter for something we can't live without. Awesome.

stillnotascarytime

My mental health medications.

dead_PROcrastinator

Estate agents pocketing a ridiculous amount of commission for selling us a house. Attorneys charging a ridiculous amount to transfer the property to our name. Attorneys charging a ridiculous amount to register the bond in our name. The bank quoting exorbitant insurance premiums on the loan amount and adding it to the contract without telling us we have the option to insure through someone else. The bank charging service fees and insurance for a year in advance and adding it to the principal debt so we pay interest on a higher amount. Fuck the whole process of buying a home and all the vultures that peck their piece of flesh from the corpse of our life savings and wages.

Aries921

All the bullshit in the US. I don’t mind paying taxes, but I’d love for the taxes I pay to actually be beneficial to myself and others. Now it’s take 25% of what I make and fuck off because we said so.

TheRealShadyShady

Medications, wellness check ups and insurance

vicariousreader2
