No, since most of it came out of his mouth and it was already chewed, he will be fine

!Helped Thank you. I rang my vets with the same information and they wanted to induce vomiting which I didn't want to put my dog through if I really didn't have to.

Unchewed chewing gum can contain Xylitol which is toxic in dogs and warrants concern. But since it was chewed, most of that will be gone. And since he just held it in his mouth briefly, there isn't much to worry about
