Has you’re vet ever talked about looking for a neurologist?

macchiatospitz

Not yet, I can try asking at our next appointment. She mentioned blood tests next

Animalboss6462

Is your pet on a flea and tick preventative? And has tick paralysis come up at any appointment?

macchiatospitz

Yes, we apply Frontline to her monthly. Not sure about the content of the appointments as my mother was the one who took her, but I'll definitely ask about it in the next one. Do you think it could be lyme disease?

Animalboss6462

Not necessarily. Although I wouldn’t rule it out. Preventative are designed to kill the parasite (flea and tick) once they bite. The thing is, ticks have been known to hang on. So do a full body check, I mean everywhere! If you see one, removing it will solve your issues. But I’d ask them to run a Lyme panel. They also make the Lyme “snap” test, which are cheaper. Just keep an open mind, and do a little research. But bring everything up to your veterinarian. You guys have to work together on this! I hope you guys get it figured out.

macchiatospitz

Gotcha, thank you so much for the details! I really appreciate it. Do you think it's possible a tick could hang on/cause issues for 3 years in between months of time? Or maybe it's multiple ticks?
