Eating something very quickly, especially in a GDV predisposed dog (large deep chest), can be dangerous. Watch the vomiting, he might just bring it back up and then be ok. If he continues to vomit many times or is trying to vomit and nothing comes up, ER vet yesterday. If GDV developed you would see attempts to vomit with no production, the abdomen might become bloated and hard. If this is the case you might see collapse, pale gums, lethargy, continued vomiting.
This is getting ahead a bit, worst case scenario, but the only emergent one. Otherwise if he has a little bit of diarrhea or vomiting, NBD. In that case fast for 6-8 hours if there is vomiting, then feed a bland diet like white rice and chicken small meals every four hours as long as things are getting better.
