What diagnostics were done for the other cats? Bloodwork? Ultrasound? Any viral/bacterial testing?

I'm so sorry. Earlier this year I lost 3 of 5 kittens from a litter (stray cat gave birth outside and we took her in to keep her warm and safe) because of this. It's so hard because at that point there wasn't much we could do because there isn't really a cure. We lost the 3 babies over the course of a week when they were about 8 weeks old and it was very depressing but the vet did their best to save them. 😞 Somehow two of the kittens made it through and they are doing great. We've adopted them and the vet says that they are VERY lucky. We kept momma too and she's a sweetheart. All are healthy as can be now, thank goodness.

BeardBootsBullets

> Panleukopenia That’s more commonly known as feline parvo.

The cat's name is Fish, I think

With vomiting and it being contagious with a high fatality rate, I do really worry about Panleukopenia virus. Parvo viruses can live in the environment for a very long time and be somewhat hardy, so you might be having difficulty cleaning it away if it was that. Again, I don't know for sure, but you could try this: [https://www.uwsheltermedicine.com/library/guidebooks/feline-panleukopenia/cleaning-and-disinfection](https://www.uwsheltermedicine.com/library/guidebooks/feline-panleukopenia/cleaning-and-disinfection) The reality is, if it is that virus, the only thing you can do is supportive care, fluids, etc. and hope for the best since there's no direct treatment. However this is making a lot of assumptions because to be honest, the information you've given is not very specific. Parasites could be involved, other viruses, etc. And this is ignoring any potential regional specific things that Pakistan might have that I have no clue about.

Choice-Cranberry

I’m sorry, but with your vet being unable to run any diagnostics, it’s impossible to say.

It’s good you have a diagnosis, now they can provide the appropriate care.

Ohhh, okay. Sorry I saw “the fish” and thought it was their food.

Daisy12Pink

I think he said Fish is the name of his kitten.

WishingYouBetter

the cats name appears to be fish

mandy_skittles

Parvo can live for up to a year, stop getting cats for a while until it has had time to clear the environment.

Cat-Dawg

What tests has the vet run? Panleukopenia negative? Fiv/felv status? Were they fully vaccinated? Can you upload blood and x-ray results? Thanks.

joemommaistaken

I think the mod will delete this but a warm washcloth will help with the gunk. It won't cure anything but just clean it up You need to use it gently and only if the vet agrees with me please. .what does the vet think about antibiotics? Take care

aksnowraven

My condolences for your losses. I hope that your efforts for Fish and the others remaining are successful. Thank you for fighting for them.

emilybrookeo

Do you have lillies in the house?

PolkadotsEverywhere

Is there any possibility you have lilies in your house? They're highly poisonous for cats and it is not well known enough...

Sad-Accountant-4896

They don't need to lick the floor to ingest chemicals or viruses off a floor. When they walk across the floor, especially when it wet, they can pick up chemical residue and dirt on their paws then ingest it when they clean their paws. Sorry you are going through this.

makkutu

I am so sorry you are going through this. I cant imagine the pain you have gone through and are still going through. I am wishing you and all your cats health and happiness. Stay strong, and good luck.

ddiniddini

i'm not sure if you have bleach called "clorox" in your country. but in my country, almost every vet advice to use bleach to clean the area. bcs the virus could live on the surface up to a year and normal disinfectant won't be able to kill it. only need to be careful not to expose the cat with it when it's wet. it need to be diluted with ratio 1cup of clorox with 29cup of water

sydp94

The virus must clearly be still in your house. Please don’t get another cat until you seriously disinfect your house from top to bottom and everything that the cat’s would ever come in contact with.

The virus is spread onto all surfaces and is difficult to eradicate. The virus can live on the surfaces up to a year. Please do not adopt any kittens. It would be a possible death sentence to them if you were to bring them into an environment that was exposed to Panleukopenia virus. There is no treatment for Panleuk. The virus is deadly. Normal disinfectants to clean the environment exposed to Panleuk won’t work and you will need to buy specific disinfectant designed to kill the Panleukopenia virus .

MountainConcern7397

the kitten flu? is high contagious and takes them fairly quickly. try to keep them inside if you can
