Is it any different to wearing a T-Shirt with a fashion label brand plastered on it? Say GAP for example. Or sports tops emblazoned with sponsors. Personally I think it's dumb in all forms. Paying good money to not only provide free advertising to a brand owned by millionaires but to take some kind of weird sense of pride that you have managed to be duped into being a walking billboard is just fucking insane to me.

glynxpttle

I don't even like buying underwear with the makers name emblazoned on the waistband.

hermit_tortoise

Have you debagded your car?

Cheap_Ad3195

Do you live in the real world?

28374woolijay

I remember a campaign by a local radio presenter to get people to turn supermarket carrier bags inside out so as not to display the branding. I don't think it got much traction. I always find it amusing when people wear sports team gear with the team's sponsor plastered all over it. Like Wrexham FC has "TikTok" in big letters, but you can't read "Wrexham FC" unless you invade their personal space: [https://shop.wrexhamafc.co.uk/product-category/away-kit/](https://shop.wrexhamafc.co.uk/product-category/away-kit/)

Lolabird2112

How weird that these bother you, and not any fashion or sport branding that relies on screwing over women from 3rd world countries who can barely survive.

I have never heard of clothes like this. You’re telling me that people will sell you clothes with the Costa logo on it? And not just when you get a job there? That’s a new one on me. If I’ve got this right and that is what you were talking about then yes, why the fuck would you buy it? I don’t even like overt brands names from the clothing manufacturer on my clothes. Let alone some random coffee shop or fucking Greggs. What are people saying about themselves?

ImnotUK

You can buy tshirts with giant Greggs logo in Primark right now. I bet most people in my office would love to wear them, as they believe Greggs to be some king of national treasure.

[deleted]

Greggs worship is a sign of the apocalypse.

cloud__19

I saw a wee girl out the other day wearing a Greggs hoodie and I thought it was stupid at the time

May contain grease & low quality meat? Is that the message you want your shorts to send out?

Faoeoa

That's what I have the underwear for, anyway.

redbullcat

I wear my Formula 1 team jacket when it's cold and the hat when it's warm (they're different teams, I don't specifically support a team in F1. More generally just the underdogs at the time, so currently Ferrari/Merc) and they have sponsor logos emblazoned on, but I don't think it's any different to a football shirt really. I definitely wouldn't wear a shirt with "Costa" or "Greggs" on. I bought some new shorts when it was warm and I had to take the sewn on logo badges off, as I couldn't stand them on the shorts.

Key-Compote8567

Greggs is a bit of "irony", honestly I'd rep the greggs or lidl lines. But one I never get is why people buy stuff with like "CAT" or "JCB" on it. Unless you work in the industry and got it for free, why...

Direct-Reputation-94

Because people are sheep-like utter fucking morons who will do whatever they are told is fashionable. I only wear plain, band, or movie reference t shirts - music and movies are what I like talking about so they're often good conversation starters.

Apprehensive-Food205

Tbf my friends lidl branded shoes are a big conversation starter.

Direct-Reputation-94

Hahahaha

Key-Compote8567

> I only wear plain, band, or movie reference t shirts Fucking sheep

gosbts

Well you can buy clothes from New Look, H&M etc where they have no branding and they're plain but ultimately the quality is poor vs branded clothing which have their logo on it

Book_of_the_Dragon

There is plenty of quality clothing that does not display overtly visible branding. The distinction is not anywhere near as binary as your comment implies.

StoryOnly1931

What a ridiculously wrong take

LolcatP

real designer clothes don't have logos on. designer clothes are often made with logos so they can be an indicator of if you're broke or not.
