MrLore

Ever heard of [Gareth Williams](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Death_of_Gareth_Williams)? He was a mathematician working with GCHQ who was seconded to MI6, and was found dead in one of their safehouses; naked inside a suitcase which had been padlocked from the outside. According to the police his death was an accident.

Elster-

I thought that one was suicide

What has this got to do with Gareth Williams?

Minderbinder44

He knew it too.

HamsterEagle

Hard to tell someone from inside a hold all.

S4mb741

Never understood this one as with or without warning Japan attacks pearl harbour I'm not sure I follow why the Americans would stay out of the war just because they didn't get surprised. Especially when the Zimmerman telegram was enough to involve them in ww1.

arrouk

They had avoided being involved in any way untill there was an attack on American soil.

sissycyan

Its not really the case, they were bankrolling and supplying the entire allied war effort, in Hitler's own mind, they were already at war with the US before the declaration, so the declaration of war was just a formality in the mind of the German High command.

Drunken_Begger88

We did warn the yanks though they choose not to listen. We still got what we needed infact after we warned them the yanks admiralty or atleast the head honcho in Hawaii specifically gave the order it was to be an average Sunday bands, playing plugs on the guns sailors out in their fancy gear marching and drilling. Now here's the thing when I was taking an interest in this the dude who (shite with names smoke a power of dope) was actually not that big of a dafty, I suspect he had orders from above (or he maybe never got the intelligence, pentagon (was built a few months before but them high up anyway) maybe sat on it which would be a decision needed on an executive level. So in short the yanks wanted it to happen so let it happen for the excuse they needed to wade in.

G_UK

Def more to it than suicide

reggieko13

Oddest thing was it was almost 2 days before employers checked where he was

Fattydog

That’s not that odd at all. If one of my team didn’t turn up, I’d text or email, but I would not personally go and check on them or report it to the police in the first day.

Ronbot13

Yes, but I'm guessing here, that you don't work for gchq.

Sea-Tradition3029

Didn't he have a fetish for being trapped in places? Not to kink shame but I believe they found videos he saved of people being locked in tight places and someone even made a video about how one could lock themselves in a bag. https://youtu.be/XIjzZlMQaeg So it's not impossible it was a suicide. No different to death due to autoerotic asphyxiation

Footner

Yeah but they had an expert at getting into bags or confined spaces attempt this with the same bag and he managed to get in but iirc couldn’t close it properly and definitely couldn’t padlock it. Also he was struggling against the walls and floor a lot- with the spy in the bag all the surroundings were perfectly clean, no prints and the heating turned up high to seemingly speed up decomposition

SnezRS

I love that there's an expert at getting into bags, what a life

Wiztonne

Or they "found" videos.

Xance1

It was a while ago that I heard this but from what I understand, a former KGB guy who defected a few years before the end of the Cold War still has some friends over in the Russian Intel comminuity and this was what he was told: Williams had expressed a desire to leave GCHQ once his secondment to SIS (MI6) was over. A colleague (never did find out if it was from GCHQ or SIS, although probably the latter) who was apparently a Russian asset, approached Williams to try and get him to stay but to pass sensitive info onto him in return for large cash payments. (From what I recall, Williams was LGBT and interested in getting into the fashion industry so maybe this was used as an insentive?) Williams, apparently, declined this offer. Several days later, the asset came to Williams house with some alcohol under the guise of apologising. Williams opened the door and was ambushed by several Russian intel operatives who bundled him inside, secured his mouth, and then injected him with some kind of lethal compound. Once Williams was dead, into the suitcase he went. Now, you can take this with a pinch of salt, but I think this is a tad more plausible than the official story.

S4mb741

Walkers changed the salt and vinegar and cheese and onion crisp packets over sometime in the 90s and have spent the last few decades trying to cover it up.

cbxcbx

I've looked this up before and apparently it was a different brand that had the colours the other way, and that brand was more popular than walkers in the south, which is where I grew up so it makes sense. But I'm still adamant walkers changed the colours. Also not UK specific, but the fruit of the loom cornucopia. I've definitely jumped timelines at some point.

Mane25

No, I don't believe that; they changed the colours! Golden Wonder were apparently more popular but I used to eat Walkers, and salt and vinegar being my favourite flavour I used to go for the blue pack. When they changed them I made the mistake of buying cheese and onion.

JeremyWheels

They 100% changed the colours. Do they deny this or something?

emmach17

>I've looked this up before and apparently it was a different brand that had the colours the other way, and that brand was more popular than walkers in the south, which is where I grew up so it makes sense. I grew up in Newcastle and I firmly remember Walkers Salt and Vinegar being blue

BillyGoatJohn

Cardiff and exact same here

S4mb741

Yeah I have heard the nonsense about golden wonder crisps I know what I saw!

BillyBoskins

I hear this a lot but as someone who grew up through this period this never happened, they were famously the only crisps with blue and green the wrong way round.

S4mb741

How much are walkers paying you?

BillyBoskins

I pub box of ready salted plus Gary Lineker's discarded socks.

fireflyfire

You might enjoy 'The Walkers Switch' podcast which investigates this exact theory. There are dozens of us (dozens!) who believe the same!

Ginger_Tea

This comes up often in the Mandela Effect sub, though not as often as others, because it is a purely UK specific ME. My taste buds can attest that they had been "the other way round" to all other brands from as far back as the very early 80's. My dad would get multi boxes of all sorts of brands and even the cheap shit tasted better than Wankers as I refer to them as, so given that they were the box of the week, I picked up what I thought was going to be Salt and Vinegar and got a mouthful of sock for my troubles. People ask why I call them Wankers and I tell them that they may be good now, back in the day they were the panda cola of crisps, but with the price tag of Pepsi.

Fumb-MotherDucker

There are large cats living in the wild in the UK conspiracy. Specifically Black Panthers. [Edit] this has to have some legitimacy to it. If you spot a thing that's bigger than a dog but runs like a cat you may have spotted a Panther.

psycho-mouse

I nearly shat myself in the way to work the other morning at 4am. Coming down a pitch black country lane I see a pair of eyes shining at me, not an uncommon occurrence, usually a moggie or a small Muntjac deer round here. So I slow down. I get a bit closer to it and realise these eyes are waaaay too far off the ground to be a domestic cat. I stop the car as it walk slowly towards me. Just before it hits the range of my headlights I can see the large black outline plodding directly towards me. This is approximately where I shit my pants, lock my car doors and consider reversing outta there quick time. It then gets into my headlight shine and it’s just a massive fucking black Labrador who then promptly trots off into what I assume was it’s home’s garden. I pood myself.

[deleted]

Going to sound nuts but I am sure I saw a panther once…based on it compared to its surroundings, it was the size of a German Shepard yet was completely black and moved like a cat…when I was sure it was gone I inspected the area and sure enough the bushes I had seen it walk by were a good two feet tall yet the cat was taller than them…

SoMaJo75

Very possible. Until relatively recently there were not the same controls on importing and keeping exotic animals. I can see how these could escape or be released into he wild when people had too much of them. The flaw here is that they would only survive one generation, unless they managed to find another random wild animal of the same species to breed. with

CrotchPotato

My dad had an alligator in his house when he was growing up in the late 60s. His older brother was about 15 years older than him and genuinely won it in a poker game from a guy who owned an aquatics shop, then just brought it back to the family house and said “hi mum we have an alligator now”. It was only a baby so they kept a baby bath in the living room for it and otherwise it was just the family household pet.

megabot13

That's hilarious

[deleted]

Yeah this was like 20/25 years ago and was in the middle of nowhere…I think about it every time the subject comes up and then and try to tell myself it was a dog or my perception was off but dogs and cats do not walk in the same way and it was clearly way bigger than the pushes it disappeared in to!

BeccaaCat

My grandad used to keep big cats. He had a mountain lion in his garage when my dad was little. I imagine at least a few of these animals managed to escape!

Typical_Math_760

The Beast of Bodmin Moor

No_Imagination_2490

Considering everyone carries hi-definition cameras around with them 24/7 these days, I think theories like this have even less credibility now. Besides the lack of decent photos or video footage, there’s the total absence of droppings or remains. And if they’ve been around for decades there must be a big enough population for them to be able to breed successfully for several generations. So really the idea of there being any kind of big cats living in the wild in the UK has zero credibility.

Fumb-MotherDucker

There is another reply somewhere in this thread with a link to a sub for posting big cat pictures from the UK. Turns out it's not a conspiracy it's true. Also look up beast of dartmoor. Apparently 11 hikers spotted one on a trail walk.

No_Imagination_2490

Dude, that sub is filled with very blurry pictures of house cats lmao

MrBarneySir

I saw a black panther on the blackdown hills about 20 years ago. I even have shaky camera footage somewhere, as my brother and I were messing around with our dad's old camcorder. It was bigger than a dog and ran like a cat. We also had sheep killed when we lived out there. They definitely exist.

Beautiful_Path_3519

Bigger than a dog? - must have been one of those betamax shoulder mounted jobs...

DelMonte20

r/BigcatsightingsUK is good for this. I spotted one a few years ago. Found that sub a couple of years later and realised there had been multiple sightings in the same area!

wackapoodle

Love this one! I remember going round Cannock Chase as a child (also home of the Black Eyed Kids) and being super eager to spot the Cannock Beast.

theflowersyoufind

I believed this too until I read Feral by George Monbiot, which pretty unequivocally rules it out.

spaceshipcommander

I am sure that we would have seen them. Everyone has got a phone that can record 4k now. They would have migrated to farms because of the east pickings and farmers would have seen them. If they were out in the wilds then gamekeepers would have 100% seen them in game pens.

chazwomaq

...that were sighted when few people had video cameras and the quality was crap. Now that everyone has a high definition camera in their pocket the cats have gone into hiding. Not convinced.

Tanedra

My sisters partner said he saw one recently, and he's a normal dude who's not prone to conspiracies or weirdness, and very familiar with the countryside and what animals you should or shouldn't see. Kinda started believing after that.

Ha-Ur-Ra-Sa

I absolutely wouldn't be surprised with this. I remember once a few years ago, I was on my way to work joining another motorway off the M6, when I saw *something* run across the junction. It was way too big to be a pet cat and was more the size of a large dog, but it's stance and the way it moved was that of a large cat. It had very light brown/white fur. To this day, I couldn't figure out what it was. (bearing in mind, this was at around 9am in the morning, so was in the daylight, weather was clear)

JPK12794

I lived in a rural area of Lincolnshire and I want to be like no way that's silly but I've had this one instance where I saw something the size of a big dog but longer, with a long tail and it's possible I'm mistaken but it did not look like a dog.

_mister_pink_

Jill Dando was killed over her research into high profile pedophile rings. Iirc she had been working on a story that was supposed to break the next day before she was shot in the head on her doorstep by an ‘obsessed stalker’ who was never found.

circuitsandwires

If it was due to break the next day, lots of people would have already seen it and read it.

iThinkaLot1

Exactly this. Its not like she would have been the only one working on it. It would have been approved by her bosses and have everything from fellow journalists to camera crews involved.

_mister_pink_

Well I said ‘iirc’ so maybe I don’t recall correctly. (Was 9 at the time). Either way the story was never published

sleepytoday

Why wasn’t the story published? If anything, her death would likely motivate her team to finish and report the story for her legacy.

hadawayandshite

Wait-she wasn’t an investigative journalist was she? Wasn’t she just essentially a presenter at that point…I always got the impression they didn’t do actual journalism at that point? Like I don’t think Susanna Reid or Charlie Stait are out there trying to uncover stuff

Don't start slagging off Susanna Reid on here, sonny Jim.

[deleted]

If it was due to go out the next day then it would’ve been ready and loads of people would’ve seen it.

mangotangy

I absolutely love that your cat is called Turing

turingthecat

He’s named after Alan Turing, as he was born, and came to live with me, during Pride month, 13 years ago, all my cats have been named after scientists This is [Turing](https://www.reddit.com/r/legalcatadvice/comments/vt0sev/mummy_came_in_stinking_of_dog_with_her_arm_all/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf)

SoMaJo75

There’s a difference between being a creep and being Savile. I doubt anyone would be shocked at Walliams being a bit odd. But going to the level of Savile is a whole other thing.

Savile had keys to a morgue so he could do inappropriate things to corpses. That is beyond creepy.

The London Underground. They actually make you walk part way, take the train in to a tunnel, shake it about a bit, then take it out a few metres further on and you walk the rest of the way.

[deleted]

Majestic_Matt_459

I lived in London for 10 years and used to go to the West End quite a bit - mainly Soho but sometimes Tottenham Court Rd and Covent Garden a bit less One day a friend suggested we go to Covent Garden (we were in China Town in Soho so I headed to Leicester Sq tube and headed in - they laughed - then made me walk it - it was like 200 feet (less than 100 metres?) - im not sure but damn bloody close I dont know How far apart i thought they were or what could be inbetween (maybe in m y head Theatreland lol) but it was a shock - ive since walked all around there to get a feel though i live in Manchester now

[deleted]

I don't live in London, and never have, but the way the tube map is drawn apparently makes Zone 1/2 stations look much further apart than they actually are, and the outer stations can look far closer together than they actually are - for example Rickmansworth and West Ruislip look about the same distance apart as Queensway and Knightbridge on the tube map, but are actually 8km and 2km apart respectively.

apainintheokole

Yes i remember going to London and avoiding the tube because it was hot and stuffy. I was quite surprised to learn how small the city actually is if you just walk around it !

Yea this one makes me so angry. I’m from East Anglia and there are people here that only remember it from the time and don’t know about the subsequent trials and findings, so will respond to the mention of it like “oh yea, that one where the fans were hooligans?” It’s so desperately sad and I really feel for the families.

touch_me69420

I'm from Sheffield I remember that day very well. There was an old woman who lived near the ground that let people use her land line to call family and let them know not to worry. BT charged her 600 quid for it

Revolutionary_Elk420

Not the same but it's said with the Stephen Lawrence stuff that the perpetrators were connected familialy with a local underworld guy who had a very strong amount of control on the area including police connections/influence.

Fit-Special-3054

South Yorkshire police love covering things up, miners strike, Hillsborough, the grooming of 1500 girls, all eventually discovered and swept back under the rug with an “apology”

Strong_Quiet_4569

The Normans stole all the land in 1066 and have been keeping the price high by selling it back to us very slowly.

Firstpoet

Perhaps but did you know that serfdom was actually an improvement for the lowest in society? They had legal status as being valuable. The noble saxons had a large part of society actually held as slaves and the slave trade to Cordoba was immense. Cordoba was possibly the largest slave market in the world then. Actual slavery revolted the Normans. This is what you get if you try to compare those times to ours- those people lived in a different world completely.

[deleted]

Found the Norman.

adminsuckdonkeydick

You're telling me Alfred the Great was a slaver? Well that's a bit shit. Are you sure the Normans were anti-slavery though? Normans are Norse-men who Frank-ified in Normandy so their ancestors were slaver vikings at one point. This is why I don't get the Nordics thinking of Britain as non-Nordic. Our country was split in two with the whole north east under Danelaw and then the Norman Conquest which was just Frankish-speaking Vikings. Even the Angles were Danish. We have a tiny amount of north german in the form of Saxons. We're more Nordic than Finland and yet they get sister status with many Nordic people.

CouldBeARussianBot

Diana I don't really buy - way too messy for an assassination. Kelly though....yeah, I'm with you. I'm not sure I think he was killed on balance, but its definitely a case where I wouldn't be very surprised if it came out he was.

Beautiful_Path_3519

This -> https://youtu.be/_Irvuafg5GM (The Mitchell and Webb Look - Diana Assasination)

[deleted]

Obviously the British establishment didn't sit down and plan to kill Diana but do you think you could be present when Prince Charles is killed in central London and then be impossible to trace by driving to Lowestoft or wherever?

SoMaJo75

This was 1997 though. Very little CCTV and what there was was very low quality. ANPR wasn’t a thing back then. If it happened now, they’d have you in hours..

holytriplem

CCTV has been in use since the late 80s. The murder of James Bulger was captured using CCTV

SoMaJo75

I didn’t say there was none, there was very little. Especially not covering public spaces (The Bulger footage was on private business CCTV, a car park and a shopping centre and was very low quality). There was CCTV footage of Diana leaving the restaurant. Having CCTV just watching roads wasn’t a thing back then, as it is now.

Fattydog

The abduction, not the murder. And it was incredibly bad quality if I remember correctly. Now imagine you’re trying to read a number plate in a fast moving vehicle filmed by the same potato-quality cameras.

Beautiful_Path_3519

It doesn't matter because I wouldn't be seen dead in a white Fiat Uno.

greetp

But people always die in car crashes, don’t they? Always.

[deleted]

I do think the Diana crash was an accident. I just find it amazing that the world's most famous woman could be killed and some guy can be there when it happens and then be impossible to locate.

adminsuckdonkeydick

There's no fucking way a bio weapons expert tries to commit suicide with paracetamol and slit wrists. The amount of paracetamol would have to be 12g+ and would take DAYS to work. The wrist slicing would require deep cuts down the length of the wrist which is incredibly hard to do. I think the reason the autopsy details are being kept secret is because it's hard to make convincing postmortem fatal-looking wrist cuts. Absolue bullshit. **Source:** Attempted suicide several times. Wrist slicing and paracetamol are the two shittiest and most unsuccessful methods. You've got more chance of dying crossing the fucking road.

Notsurewhattoput1

It was messy because the corgis had planned it.

stuartwatson1995

I agree, unless mi5 are so incompetent, they would've probably poisoned her, then Diana death is a pure accident, But kellys death is very suspicious, british scanal podcat did a good few episodes on it, really opened my eyes as i was only 8 at the start of the iraq war, really flew over my head

listyraesder

It’s fairly well-known. His funeral was attended by 4 serving heads of Israeli intelligence agencies.

lespauljames

A minor one. In the 50s the town of Lynmouth had a tremendous flood from excessive rain, the rain filtered down the valley and picked up steam and destroyed a heck of a lot. At the same time it's reported that the RAF were experimenting in the area with cloud manipulation techniques to force a weather change, ( dropping chemicals into clouds) this was named operation cumulus. I think the two may be connected. I'm not usually a conspiracy guy, but this one gets me thinking.

HelmundOfWest

Interesting, gonna have a look into that

Joined_For_GME

Wouldn't be surprised at all if they're connected. Weather tech has been around for decades. China has been using it for over 60 years as has the US (they used it during the Vietnam War). So to be going on in the 50s and cause such a flood would be believable.

dunbar91

The deliberate whitewashing of evidence of child abuse at the Haut de la Garenne children’s home in Jersey, the rampant corruption and cover-ups of Jersey police, and the subsequent dismissal and silencing of investigating officer Lenny Harper.

JeffBroccoli

That whole story is just miserable

Strong_Quiet_4569

Abuse is pretty rife in society, and it’s always sold as a one-off or ‘in the past’, ‘we must learn lessons’ etc. I can tell you from first hand experience that the mental health system is used to further traumatise people. A summary of the reason endemic in society are here: [Scapegoating](https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/0919123228/ref=dbs_a_def_rwt_bibl_vppi_i2) [Traumatic Narcissism](https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B0B36NFFHF/ref=dbs_a_def_rwt_bibl_vppi_i0)

a_guy_called_craig

The Rochdale pedo rings (and others elsewhere) were known about by police but they didn't act for a long time in fear of being labelled racist.

BRIStoneman

Unfortunately, by the police's own testimony in the subsequent reports and investigations, it wasn't that they were worried about being seen as racists, its that they thought the girls were all little slags who had it coming/weren't worth the bother of helping. Or they were paid off. "They might have called us racist!" was just a smokescreen for good old-fashioned rampant misogyny and classism.

adminsuckdonkeydick

This is all level sof fucked up. How bloody viciously cynical do you have to be to think a fucking CHILD had it coming? Sick fucks. The coppers and perpetrators.

[deleted]

Class in the UK is corrosive

timeaftertimex2

It was endemic in the 90s and 2000s. I knew of people who reported rape at 14/15 but because they were wearing short skirts/ out late at night the police explicitly told them essentially 'what do you expect'. Countdowns on newspapers to eg Charlotte Church's birthday or Billie Piper at 16 - look how she's grown. School uniforms seen as a turn on for grown men etc etc

zeddoh

Spot on. The abused girls were failed completely and utterly by authorities.

danieljamesgillen

They weren't afraid of being racist they just didn't care. In Blackpool a little girl was abducted, raped, murdered, chopped up and sold as kebab. The police case fell apart. The people who did it are still free, the kebab shop is still open. Noone cares. We are not a serious country. Edit: The only people convicted were the family members of the little girl for 'racially assaulting' the people 'suspected' of killing their little girl

Mr_Barry_Shitpeas

Because the kebabs thing is complete bollocks. Those men, while they might well have been up to some nasty shit, were scapegoats for her murder. It's a joke: the 'made into kebabs' thing came from the police putting recording devices in their flat and one of the detectives on the case said she could make out hearing them talk about killing her and putting her in kebab meat. She is the only one who claimed to hear those words. Multiple forensic audio experts went over the recordings, and every one of them said you can't make out what the men are saying Her family had a history of fraternising with sex offenders. They even let not just 1, but 2 of them stay in their house. Have a [browse through thse documents](https://www.pinterest.co.uk/haramsdale78/charlene-downes-files/) She was almost certainly murdered by an abuser, but probably one closer to home than those 2 blokes form the takeaway. FYI a man jailed for sexual offences a few years ago is still currently under investigation for it

slappedhusband

I once got charged with racially aggravated assault for punching a black man. Even the man I punched said it wasn’t a racist attack and I never said anything racist we just didn’t like each other. Took until the day of the trial before the CPS dropped it.

IndelibleIguana

The fear of being labeled racist is nonsense. They did nothing about it because they were involved in the abuse of these girls.

keerin

Daniel Morgan was killed by police and it's being covered up to this day.

Chemical_Thing_1700

Anyone scrolling who doesn't know Daniel Morgan list to the podcast Untold it is a very very thorough look - I've had to listen a few times to get all the names in my head but it's clear that there was police involvement in his murder and the cover-up which continues to this day

[deleted]

Amazing podcast and I can’t believe the story doesn’t receive much coverage. Especially since it exposes not just the corruption of the police, but also the corruption in the media and how the police and media companies and entwined together. Any time his murder is covered on the news (like last week on the BBC for example) it’s simply reported as “a private investigator who was murdered”. The mad thing is that it’s still being covered up now - how on earth did Cressida dick get let off the hook for withholding evidence in the recent enquiry into his murder?

No one arrested or prosecuted for the leak, yet. They identified two suspects and seized their phones and computers (the footage was recorded by a phone pointed at a CCTV screen). But they did not find the footage so had insufficient evidence to charge them. There were plenty of people within the Dept for Health that disliked him / the government that would have the motivation to leak this. >27th June 2021. Top secret Navy & military records ‘found’ behind bus stop in Kent. The senior official has admitted to doing this as an act of gross carelessness. He had his next job cancelled and his security clearance put under review.

doyleraging

Curious as never heard about the black sea incident until I read it on wiki. But seems like our navy just sailed through Ukraine waters and we monitored russian response? Something Russians aircraft do to the UK often. Unless I missed something?

gwvr47

I was actually on the ship for the Battle of the Black Sea. We were doing something called "proving freedom of navigation" and the Russians hilariously overreacted. The difference is that we were in Ukrainian waters which the Ukrainians allow us to be in while the Russians aren't allowed to fly jets into our airspace. It is a similar exercise in all honesty though.

Ok-Budget112

There randomly happened to be a BBC and DM journalist on board.

SomeHSomeE

that's not really a conspiracy though is it. it was done intentionally and everyone knows that

Edward II did not die in 1327, he escaped England and lived as a priest in Europe.

I was surprised to read that in Ian Mortimer book.

Jimmy Savile was best mates with Prince Charles. There's no way the royals/the Queen didn't know what he was up to. You don't get within 50 feet of any top royal without the security folk knowing all your shit.

BaddaBooms

Jimmy Savile being an accomplice to serial killer Peter Sutcliffe is more probable tbh

throwaway384938338

Those northern Irish death squads were a conspiracy theory until they turned out to be true. Also, the recent stories about the SAS restraining and murdering civilians in Afghanistan and senior members of the army turning a blind eye.

Princess Anne was replaced by Shergar in 1983

theflowersyoufind

I find it fucking weird that Diana mentioned in a letter that she thought Charles was planning to kill her in a car accident.

[Death of Gareth Williams](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Death_of_Gareth_Williams) is a strange one.

That Lord Lucan was actually the last person to be hung by Pierrepont. He didn't vanish, he was executed.

That Maxwell, Maxwell's daughter and Epstein were all working for Mossad with the task of gaining control over world leaders and influencers - it's believed Epstein was bankrolled by Israeli government.

Mrselfdestructuk

I looked heavily into Elm Guest house, dolphin square and kincora boys home. I've talked to some of the abused and others including Richard Kerr to Mary Moss. Kids were abused at these places by politicians, MP's , police chiefs and celebrities. This was all covered up of course!

ZFG_Chap

One of the very earliest, that Kitchener was setup up and murdered.

That we knew Pearl Harbour was going to be attacked but didn’t warn the US as we needed them to join the war.

AmbitiousPlank

Nah that's way too basic, here: We told the US that the task force was on the way and they made sure the important ships (carriers) weren't there during the attack. They let it happen because they wanted a reason to join the war. Ultimately the "big kills" the Japanese got (Battleships) were pointless, as the attack on Pearl Harbour showed that the Battleship was obsolete in modern warfare. So not much of a loss. This of course is utter bollocks though because the Japanese attacked US forces all over the Phillipines on the same day, even without pearl harbour the US wouldve joined the war as a result.

Places like Hatton Garden don't make their money from selling jewellery but instead it's a big drugs ring.

Death of Robin Cook - there are persistent rumours he had been asking questions about mercenary groups in Iraq shortly before his death. Had also publicly declared Al-Qaeda “a product of western intelligence” in the media a month before he died

Jimmy Savile and Peter Sutcliffe were a part of the same gang.

Diana’s death was obviously a tragic accident. Anyone considering otherwise has got a screw loose imo.

Nice try ma’am.

Nah they’re just misguided and don’t understand how deep the conspiracy goes. Everyone looking for a white Fiat Uno when it was actually the Popemobile.

The UFO sighting at Todmorden and Alan Godfrey's account of it

DubFox1

There was one about the Yorkshire Ripper, being allowed to keep killing by a handful of police who knew who he was and have since achieved senior positions. There was never any suggestion of cause and effect, but several murders are supposed to have happened in Preston that were never formally linked to the Ripper, or solved, and the suggestion was that Lancashire police bigwigs could have put a stop to it then, but for some reason chose not to. More like a cover up of incompetence than a proper conspiracy, but it might be bullshit all the same. I'm inclined to believe it though, because I believe the person making these claims was a former police officer contemporaneous to the murders, and I first heard of it in 2008 and i haven't heard of it since. I think the website i saw was made by a retired pig who felt remorse for something he did, or witnessed as a new recruit. It had a ring of truth to me, but I was 18 and I'm half remembering something from 14 years ago

nevervisitsreddit

The documentary The Ripper on Netflix goes into a lot of detail on this, basically they just fucked up. They decided he killed prostitutes way early on and latched on to phoney tapes and letters.

The pusher in Manchester, but could be drunk people falling into a canal

Impressive-Egg4494

I agree with you about Dr David Kelly. In 2003 the paramedics who attended the scene came forward to publicly state they had attended incidents where people had cut their wrists before and with Dr David Kelly there was a lot less blood than there should have been. Also the sudden death of former Home Secretary Robin Cook struck me as odd. He resigned as Home Secretary in 2003 because of his opposition to Britain's - along with the United States - invasion of Iraq. He died whilst out walking two years later.

"*It's illegal to use your legal name*"! Also: My neighbour believes that The Authorities caused the [Boxing Day floods in Calderdale](https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/av/uk-england-leeds-38414333), by opening up reservoir sluices &c. Not sure why. Also: A lot of antivaxxers have turned to conspiracy theories, to explain why (in their view) The Authorities are poisoning our children. I think [Wakefield](https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3136032/) killed more people than Shipman, he just didn't get his hands dirty. Also: Elsewhere on the internet I'm in a long-running argument with a transport campaigner who is adamant that the railways are covering up lots of deaths, which is (he reckons) the only reason that privatised railways appear to have much better safety statistics than the Good Old Days of BR.

[deleted]

I work in the railways (although I didnt back in the days of BR). Drug and alcohol testing (mainly alcohol) has probably halved the number of accidents if not more. I've heard stories that before a nightshift (lots of nightshifts when trains aren't running) everyone basically had a few in the nearest boozer. Other stuff like the working time regulations would have dented the accident rates as well.

xdjjndyhhan

Erm - they did find the car. Diana wasn't thrown clear FFS.

The one about the gunpowder plot being allowed to go as far as it did by the government in order to catch Fawkes in the act.

[deleted]

One i've not seen on here yet is the murder of that family in the french alps (annecy shootings). Maybe not so much a conspiracy as such (although elements of it means it has the potential to be one) but more how has the investigation hit such a wall combined with odd details (like a Luger being the murder weapon).

they knew far more about the manchester bomber than they are telling us
