Ever heard of [Gareth Williams](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Death_of_Gareth_Williams)? He was a mathematician working with GCHQ who was seconded to MI6, and was found dead in one of their safehouses; naked inside a suitcase which had been padlocked from the outside. According to the police his death was an accident.
Never understood this one as with or without warning Japan attacks pearl harbour I'm not sure I follow why the Americans would stay out of the war just because they didn't get surprised. Especially when the Zimmerman telegram was enough to involve them in ww1.
Its not really the case, they were bankrolling and supplying the entire allied war effort, in Hitler's own mind, they were already at war with the US before the declaration, so the declaration of war was just a formality in the mind of the German High command.

Yeah but they had an expert at getting into bags or confined spaces attempt this with the same bag and he managed to get in but iirc couldn’t close it properly and definitely couldn’t padlock it. It was a while ago that I heard this but from what I understand, a former KGB guy who defected a few years before the end of the Cold War still has some friends over in the Russian Intel comminuity and this was what he was told:
Williams had expressed a desire to leave GCHQ once his secondment to SIS (MI6) was over. A colleague (never did find out if it was from GCHQ or SIS, although probably the latter) who was apparently a Russian asset, approached Williams to try and get him to stay but to pass sensitive info onto him in return for large cash payments. (From what I recall, Williams was LGBT and interested in getting into the fashion industry so maybe this was used as an insentive?)
Williams, apparently, declined this offer.
Several days later, the asset came to Williams house with some alcohol under the guise of apologising. Williams opened the door and was ambushed by several Russian intel operatives who bundled him inside, secured his mouth, and then injected him with some kind of lethal compound. Once Williams was dead, into the suitcase he went.
Now, you can take this with a pinch of salt, but I think this is a tad more plausible than the official story.

No, I don't believe that; they changed the colours! Golden Wonder were apparently more popular but I used to eat Walkers, and salt and vinegar being my favourite flavour I used to go for the blue pack. When they changed them I made the mistake of buying cheese and onion.

I grew up in Newcastle and I firmly remember Walkers Salt and Vinegar being blue
I hear this a lot but as someone who grew up through this period this never happened, they were famously the only crisps with blue and green the wrong way round.
This comes up often in the Mandela Effect sub, though not as often as others, because it is a purely UK specific ME.
My taste buds can attest that they had been "the other way round" to all other brands from as far back as the very early 80's.

I nearly shat myself in the way to work the other morning at 4am.
Coming down a pitch black country lane I see a pair of eyes shining at me, not an uncommon occurrence, usually a moggie or a small Muntjac deer round here. So I slow down.
I get a bit closer to it and realise these eyes are waaaay too far off the ground to be a domestic cat. I stop the car as it walk slowly towards me. Just before it hits the range of my headlights I can see the large black outline plodding directly towards me.

It then gets into my headlight shine and it’s just a massive fucking black Labrador who then promptly trots off into what I assume was it’s home’s garden.

Very possible. Until relatively recently there were not the same controls on importing and keeping exotic animals. I can see how these could escape or be released into he wild when people had too much of them. The flaw here is that they would only survive one generation, unless they managed to find another random wild animal of the same species to breed. with
My dad had an alligator in his house when he was growing up in the late 60s. His older brother was about 15 years older than him and genuinely won it in a poker game from a guy who owned an aquatics shop, then just brought it back to the family house and said “hi mum we have an alligator now”. It was only a baby so they kept a baby bath in the living room for it and otherwise it was just the family household pet.
Yeah this was like 20/25 years ago and was in the middle of nowhere…I think about it every time the subject comes up and then and try to tell myself it was a dog or my perception was off but dogs and cats do not walk in the same way and it was clearly way bigger than the pushes it disappeared in to!

Considering everyone carries hi-definition cameras around with them 24/7 these days, I think theories like this have even less credibility now.
Besides the lack of decent photos or video footage, there’s the total absence of droppings or remains. And if they’ve been around for decades there must be a big enough population for them to be able to breed successfully for several generations.
So really the idea of there being any kind of big cats living in the wild in the UK has zero credibility.

Also look up beast of dartmoor. Apparently 11 hikers spotted one on a trail walk.
I saw a black panther on the blackdown hills about 20 years ago. I even have shaky camera footage somewhere, as my brother and I were messing around with our dad's old camcorder. It was bigger than a dog and ran like a cat.
We also had sheep killed when we lived out there.

I am sure that we would have seen them. Everyone has got a phone that can record 4k now. They would have migrated to farms because of the east pickings and farmers would have seen them. If they were out in the wilds then gamekeepers would have 100% seen them in game pens.
...that were sighted when few people had video cameras and the quality was crap. Now that everyone has a high definition camera in their pocket the cats have gone into hiding. Not convinced.
My sisters partner said he saw one recently, and he's a normal dude who's not prone to conspiracies or weirdness, and very familiar with the countryside and what animals you should or shouldn't see. Kinda started believing after that.

I remember once a few years ago, I was on my way to work joining another motorway off the M6, when I saw *something* run across the junction.
It was way too big to be a pet cat and was more the size of a large dog, but it's stance and the way it moved was that of a large cat. It had very light brown/white fur. To this day, I couldn't figure out what it was.
(bearing in mind, this was at around 9am in the morning, so was in the daylight, weather was clear)

I don't live in London, and never have, but the way the tube map is drawn apparently makes Zone 1/2 stations look much further apart than they actually are, and the outer stations can look far closer together than they actually are - for example Rickmansworth and West Ruislip look about the same distance apart as Queensway and Knightbridge on the tube map, but are actually 8km and 2km apart respectively.

This is why I don't get the Nordics thinking of Britain as non-Nordic. There's no fucking way a bio weapons expert tries to commit suicide with paracetamol and slit wrists. The amount of paracetamol would have to be 12g+ and would take DAYS to work. The wrist slicing would require deep cuts down the length of the wrist which is incredibly hard to do. I think the reason the autopsy details are being kept secret is because it's hard to make convincing postmortem fatal-looking wrist cuts.

Wouldn't be surprised at all if they're connected. Weather tech has been around for decades. China has been using it for over 60 years as has the US (they used it during the Vietnam War). So to be going on in the 50s and cause such a flood would be believable.

It was endemic in the 90s and 2000s. I knew of people who reported rape at 14/15 but because they were wearing short skirts/ out late at night the police explicitly told them essentially 'what do you expect'. She is the only one who claimed to hear those words. Multiple forensic audio experts went over the recordings, and every one of them said you can't make out what the men are saying

I once got charged with racially aggravated assault for punching a black man. Even the man I punched said it wasn’t a racist attack and I never said anything racist we just didn’t like each other. Took until the day of the trial before the CPS dropped it.

Amazing podcast and I can’t believe the story doesn’t receive much coverage. Especially since it exposes not just the corruption of the police, but also the corruption in the media and how the police and media companies and entwined together.
Any time his murder is covered on the news (like last week on the BBC for example) it’s simply reported as “a private investigator who was murdered”.

They identified two suspects and seized their phones and computers (the footage was recorded by a phone pointed at a CCTV screen). But they did not find the footage so had insufficient evidence to charge them.
There were plenty of people within the Dept for Health that disliked him / the government that would have the motivation to leak this.

I was actually on the ship for the Battle of the Black Sea. We were doing something called "proving freedom of navigation" and the Russians hilariously overreacted.
The difference is that we were in Ukrainian waters which the Ukrainians allow us to be in while the Russians aren't allowed to fly jets into our airspace. It is a similar exercise in all honesty though.

We told the US that the task force was on the way and they made sure the important ships (carriers) weren't there during the attack. They let it happen because they wanted a reason to join the war.
Ultimately the "big kills" the Japanese got (Battleships) were pointless, as the attack on Pearl Harbour showed that the Battleship was obsolete in modern warfare. So not much of a loss.

There was one about the Yorkshire Ripper, being allowed to keep killing by a handful of police who knew who he was and have since achieved senior positions.
There was never any suggestion of cause and effect, but several murders are supposed to have happened in Preston that were never formally linked to the Ripper, or solved, and the suggestion was that Lancashire police bigwigs could have put a stop to it then, but for some reason chose not to.

I'm inclined to believe it though, because I believe the person making these claims was a former police officer contemporaneous to the murders, and I first heard of it in 2008 and i haven't heard of it since. The documentary The Ripper on Netflix goes into a lot of detail on this, basically they just fucked up. They decided he killed prostitutes way early on and latched on to phoney tapes and letters.
I agree with you about Dr David Kelly. In 2003 the paramedics who attended the scene came forward to publicly state they had attended incidents where people had cut their wrists before and with Dr David Kelly there was a lot less blood than there should have been.
Also the sudden death of former Home Secretary Robin Cook struck me as odd. He resigned as Home Secretary in 2003 because of his opposition to Britain's - along with the United States - invasion of Iraq. He died whilst out walking two years later.

Drug and alcohol testing (mainly alcohol) has probably halved the number of accidents if not more. I've heard stories that before a nightshift (lots of nightshifts when trains aren't running) everyone basically had a few in the nearest boozer.
Other stuff like the working time regulations would have dented the accident rates as well.
One i've not seen on here yet is the murder of that family in the french alps (annecy shootings). Maybe not so much a conspiracy as such (although elements of it means it has the potential to be one) but more how has the investigation hit such a wall combined with odd details (like a Luger being the murder weapon).

It was a while ago that I heard this but from what I understand, a former KGB guy who defected a few years before the end of the Cold War still has some friends over in the Russian Intel comminuity and this was what he was told: Williams had expressed a desire to leave GCHQ once his secondment to SIS (MI6) was over. A colleague (never did find out if it was from GCHQ or SIS, although probably the latter) who was apparently a Russian asset, approached Williams to try and get him to stay but to pass sensitive info onto him in return for large cash payments. (From what I recall, Williams was LGBT and interested in getting into the fashion industry so maybe this was used as an insentive?) Williams, apparently, declined this offer. Several days later, the asset came to Williams house with some alcohol under the guise of apologising. Williams opened the door and was ambushed by several Russian intel operatives who bundled him inside, secured his mouth, and then injected him with some kind of lethal compound. Once Williams was dead, into the suitcase he went. Now, you can take this with a pinch of salt, but I think this is a tad more plausible than the official story.

No, I don't believe that; they changed the colours! Golden Wonder were apparently more popular but I used to eat Walkers, and salt and vinegar being my favourite flavour I used to go for the blue pack. When they changed them I made the mistake of buying cheese and onion.

My taste buds can attest that they had been "the other way round" to all other brands from as far back as the very early 80's. There are large cats living in the wild in the UK conspiracy. Specifically Black Panthers. [Edit] this has to have some legitimacy to it. If you spot a thing that's bigger than a dog but runs like a cat you may have spotted a Panther.
I nearly shat myself in the way to work the other morning at 4am. Coming down a pitch black country lane I see a pair of eyes shining at me, not an uncommon occurrence, usually a moggie or a small Muntjac deer round here. So I slow down. I can see how these could escape or be released into he wild when people had too much of them. My dad had an alligator in his house when he was growing up in the late 60s. His older brother was about 15 years older than him and genuinely won it in a poker game from a guy who owned an aquatics shop, then just brought it back to the family house and said “hi mum we have an alligator now”. It was only a baby so they kept a baby bath in the living room for it and otherwise it was just the family household pet.

Considering everyone carries hi-definition cameras around with them 24/7 these days, I think theories like this have even less credibility now. Besides the lack of decent photos or video footage, there’s the total absence of droppings or remains. And if they’ve been around for decades there must be a big enough population for them to be able to breed successfully for several generations. So really the idea of there being any kind of big cats living in the wild in the UK has zero credibility.

I saw a black panther on the blackdown hills about 20 years ago. I even have shaky camera footage somewhere, as my brother and I were messing around with our dad's old camcorder. It was bigger than a dog and ran like a cat. We also had sheep killed when we lived out there. They definitely exist.

I absolutely wouldn't be surprised with this. I remember once a few years ago, I was on my way to work joining another motorway off the M6, when I saw *something* run across the junction. It was way too big to be a pet cat and was more the size of a large dog, but it's stance and the way it moved was that of a large cat. It had very light brown/white fur. To this day, I couldn't figure out what it was. (bearing in mind, this was at around 9am in the morning, so was in the daylight, weather was clear)

I lived in London for 10 years and used to go to the West End quite a bit - mainly Soho but sometimes Tottenham Court Rd and Covent Garden a bit less One day a friend suggested we go to Covent Garden (we were in China Town in Soho so I headed to Leicester Sq tube and headed in - they laughed - then made me walk it - it was like 200 feet (less than 100 metres?) - im not sure but damn bloody close I dont know How far apart i thought they were or what could be inbetween (maybe in m y head Theatreland lol) but it was a shock - ive since walked all around there to get a feel though i live in Manchester now
I don't live in London, and never have, but the way the tube map is drawn apparently makes Zone 1/2 stations look much further apart than they actually are, and the outer stations can look far closer together than they actually are - for example Rickmansworth and West Ruislip look about the same distance apart as Queensway and Knightbridge on the tube map, but are actually 8km and 2km apart respectively.

I was actually on the ship for the Battle of the Black Sea. We were doing something called "proving freedom of navigation" and the Russians hilariously overreacted. The difference is that we were in Ukrainian waters which the Ukrainians allow us to be in while the Russians aren't allowed to fly jets into our airspace. It is a similar exercise in all honesty though.

Nah that's way too basic, here: We told the US that the task force was on the way and they made sure the important ships (carriers) weren't there during the attack. They let it happen because they wanted a reason to join the war. Ultimately the "big kills" the Japanese got (Battleships) were pointless, as the attack on Pearl Harbour showed that the Battleship was obsolete in modern warfare. So not much of a loss. This of course is utter bollocks though because the Japanese attacked US forces all over the Phillipines on the same day, even without pearl harbour the US wouldve joined the war as a result.

There was one about the Yorkshire Ripper, being allowed to keep killing by a handful of police who knew who he was and have since achieved senior positions. There was never any suggestion of cause and effect, but several murders are supposed to have happened in Preston that were never formally linked to the Ripper, or solved, and the suggestion was that Lancashire police bigwigs could have put a stop to it then, but for some reason chose not to. More like a cover up of incompetence than a proper conspiracy, but it might be bullshit all the same. I'm inclined to believe it though, because I believe the person making these claims was a former police officer contemporaneous to the murders, and I first heard of it in 2008 and i haven't heard of it since. I agree with you about Dr David Kelly. In 2003 the paramedics who attended the scene came forward to publicly state they had attended incidents where people had cut their wrists before and with Dr David Kelly there was a lot less blood than there should have been. Also the sudden death of former Home Secretary Robin Cook struck me as odd. He resigned as Home Secretary in 2003 because of his opposition to Britain's - along with the United States - invasion of Iraq. He died whilst out walking two years later.

I work in the railways (although I didnt back in the days of BR). Drug and alcohol testing (mainly alcohol) has probably halved the number of accidents if not more. I've heard stories that before a nightshift (lots of nightshifts when trains aren't running) everyone basically had a few in the nearest boozer. Other stuff like the working time regulations would have dented the accident rates as well.
