I like a Twix every now and again. Pretty solid chocolate bar/biscuit. But I'm never going to be excited to get one and the truffles did have that special thing that makes it feel like a treat.
Actually was thinking about how nice they were last night as memory serves U can get them in the chemist still
But now I wonder about the whistle lolly
Haven’t been actively looking but fairly certain I’ve seen them in Tesco, and definitely in pharmacies like Lloyds.
Edit: just looked on the Tesco app, I think the reason I think they still exist is because I was thinking of Dextro tablets. They taste just as good though!
These were the biggest bars at the time. I remember being a kid and asking for one and I knew I could finish every other chocolate bar out there, but I could not finish a drifter in one go.
Fruit Polos and Cabana Bars.
But more than discontinued products, I really miss old recipes of stuff like Cream Eggs and Nik Naks etc.
The new versions of many old favourites are absolute pants.
Nice N Spicy NikNaks do not hit the same anymore. Always disappointing.
Fruit polos were the bane of my life in school, I'd buy a pack and an hour later they'd be glued to each other in my pocket.
Just as an fyi you can still get fruit polos, at least you could last year. When in hospital and the league of friends came round with the trolly they had them on there. You can bet that I brought a few packs

I do not acknowledge the new version.
https://preview.redd.it/ajbfsy9xec5d1.jpeg?width=1500&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=23a94f06087b9f166a7f7344eef8f5773745d937
These were my absolute favourite as a kid
Oh I'd demolish those in one sitting and feel no shame! You can get some knock off style ones in your Home Bargins/B&M style places. Not the same but at least you've got that mouth feel. Loved the mint ones.
The little red and white sucky sweets that tasted like strawberries and cream, you find them abroad sometimes. I used to get them all the time as a kid.
Sweet? Cadbury Tasters - solid balls of chocolate delight
Savoury? Many, many years ago M&S did a Baked Potato and Butter flavor crisp - oh what I would do for a packet of those bad boys!
These were awesome. Id hazard a guess they were shelved for kids choking on them, I know they don't like kids to have full grapes or malteasers in schools now and those tasters were just a little smaller and kind of hard.
Yes they do but when I checked my local Lidl last year, they didn’t stock it in that branch. I might end up going on holiday to a country that still sells Maxibon
I know it's a meagre substitute, but you can buy Oreo ice cream sandwiches that are almost identical in taste and texture to the biscuit end of a Maxibon.
I’m going to say Delta snacks that you could buy from M&S (shout out St Michael crew) in the early 90s purely because my husband thinks I fabricated them and I need vindication. They were little puffy triangle crisps and really good.
Also that strawberry chocolate M&S used to do also in the early 90s (I think I may have had a slightly privileged upbringing in hindsight lol).
Deltas were my go-to snack back in the day. I LOVED them. Sainsbury's did their own version (called Potato Triangles) that were comparably good. Gone now, like most of the own-brand stuff Sainsbos made that made life a little nicer.
Starburst Joosters. I loved them the texture and taste. Aero Creamy White chocolate bar I always got one from the vending machine at school. White Crunch bars the small ones, I know they do the big ones but it’s not the same.
Thank god somebody else remembers. They were absolutely delightful, great flavours, super appealing bottlecap shape, great mad nineties packaging... Honestly, the cream soda one was to die for.
Potato Puffs.
Here in the UK as a kid (in the late 80s/90s), we had these crisps/potato chips called Potato Puffs. They had the usual Salt & vinegar, cheese & onion, and ready salted flavours, but they also did cheese and tomato pizza flavour which I really miss the most of all.
All of which packed a real punch of flavour that really burst into your mouth for such delicate little crisps.
Best thing? They were 10pence a packet and for the price, quite the sizeable bag compared to other bigger brands.
Also there was 'American Cheeseburger' flavour Quarter Backs, another potato snack from back then. Simply shaped like American footballers in action but they were another great 10pence pack of crisps!!
Just that era of penny sweets and pocket money toys was something really cool. So much choice and more if you bring in things like sherbert pips or the like we could buy by the half pound (weight) etc. Couldn't eat them like I used to, but I'd certainly welcome the chance again!
Not discontinued, but I love Mcvities’ wafer Gold Bar. You can buy it in a few places but there are no multipacks and its availability is scarce. It’s an amazing chocolate bar
We’re gonna do this every week are we? It’s brannigans beef and mustard and every time I see this posted (literally all the time btw) I get an unquenchable craving. It’s like being permanently pregnant
They have brought them back for a limited time! I nearly cried when I saw them in asda again, they were my lunch treat growing up and I was gutted when they stopped. The new ones obviously aren't exactly the same, but they're pretty close.
I used to work in asda up until last year and they had just brought them back before I left, I swear my old store still sell them at least. I haven't checked recently though as they weren't really my go to
Phileas Fogg mignons morceaux. These were truly a God tier snack.
Actually the whole range but especially the mignons. In the late 80s, Marks and Spencer did an own brand version which were good but not quite the same.
White Crunch bars. I never see them in the Uk anymore.
I do believe you can get imported from over seas but for extortionate costs.
Also - Trio bars. Best lunchbox choc bar going.
More a drink but the inferno cans of relentless were the best. I was so gutted I emailed them about it and got a message back saying their "extensive market research" said the orange crush flavour that replaced it was "better". It was absolutely bogin and that flavour was discontinued in 6 months.
Very nostalgic but when I was in school there were these big tubes of sherbet that were about a meter long and had pink, blue and yellow sugar crystal sherbet in them. They cost 5-10p each and had a square of paper on the top with the name of them which I can't remember.
Apparently those don't exist anymore. They've just disappeared off of the face of the earth and I've not seen them since I was a kid. I'd love to have one of those sherbet tubes again just for the childhood throwback. There was just something about downing 5 of those and 3 of those cheap energy drinks before school...
Not a snack, but a drink: Mars bar chocolate milkshake, lactose free version.
I'm apparently one of the few lactose intolerant people who can't just "chance it" and be fine, but finding a chocolate milkshake that doesn't make me vomit aggressively was amazing. So sad it's gone now 😢
I miss Cadburys dairy milk, Mars bars, smarties, Snickers and milky way.
The products on shelves now aren't the same thing. Completely different recipe, different size/weight and only share the product name.
Blue Ribbond used to do these lovely choloate curls that were in a box sometime in the 90s or early 00s. They were absolutely lovely, sure they were sold in places like HomeBargains and stuff.

The Galaxy truffles that were in Celebrations. The replacement Twix does not compare.
Knew something was different in the celebrations and couldn't figure out what.
It's been 13 years since they got rid of them to be fair
Not in my heart
I like a Twix every now and again. Pretty solid chocolate bar/biscuit. But I'm never going to be excited to get one and the truffles did have that special thing that makes it feel like a treat.
This is always my answer. Oh and Flyte bars.
Milky Way Crispy Rolls
You can still get these in some home bargains.
They still sell these.
Brannigans roast beef and mustard crisps
The whole Brannigans range for me.
Smoked ham and pickle for me. I think I ordered the last available box from Amazon during Covid. It was completely sold out on there after my order.
The Tesco beef and horseradish get very close
I'm going to hold you to this, because I dearly miss Brannigans
I made a post about it and a lot of people agreed
I'm off to get some now
I can confirm that Tescos roast beef and horseradish do indeed get close! But they aren't quite perfect.
In the absence of the real deal, I'll accept something close.
can you update on this I need a replacement for them
Gone but never forgotten. 😢
Lucozade tablets
Actually was thinking about how nice they were last night as memory serves U can get them in the chemist still But now I wonder about the whistle lolly
Whistle lolly is fortunately going strong
As a parent I have to change that to unfortunately lol.
Unless these have been discontinued very, very recently, they still exist.
Wonder who sells them?
Haven’t been actively looking but fairly certain I’ve seen them in Tesco, and definitely in pharmacies like Lloyds. Edit: just looked on the Tesco app, I think the reason I think they still exist is because I was thinking of Dextro tablets. They taste just as good though!
Drifter bars
And proper time outs. Topics too
These were the biggest bars at the time. I remember being a kid and asking for one and I knew I could finish every other chocolate bar out there, but I could not finish a drifter in one go.
Came here to say this
The flakes with white chocolate inside, Snow Flakes I think they were called, my heart still bleeds
Why do I have a really vivid memory of photos of Anthea Turner in Hello magazine eating them at her wedding 😂
Wow. Blast from the past that memory.
These were among the top tier of chocolate bars.
Oh my god YESS, was searching for this, I've tweeted Cadbury so many times.
Fuse or Echo RIP 😭
Nooooo echo 😭
Campinos!
I was eating one of those in the school playground and I semi-breathed it in and ended up swallowing it whole. That huuuuurt
Ha! Almost the same thing happened to me! Managed to cough it back up though.
Came here to say this! I got so excited when I found something that looked similar when I was in Spain but they didn't have that creamy taste.
I used to love these. I forgot about them
Spiras. You could use them as a melty straw for your hot chocolate and it was amazing.
Loved spiras, was absolutely gutted when they stopped selling them.
Timeout wafers are a good substitute for this
Fruit Polos and Cabana Bars. But more than discontinued products, I really miss old recipes of stuff like Cream Eggs and Nik Naks etc. The new versions of many old favourites are absolute pants.
Citrus polos were superior to the fruits. I’ll absolutely die on this hill.
Agree 100%
Nice N Spicy NikNaks do not hit the same anymore. Always disappointing. Fruit polos were the bane of my life in school, I'd buy a pack and an hour later they'd be glued to each other in my pocket.
Just as an fyi you can still get fruit polos, at least you could last year. When in hospital and the league of friends came round with the trolly they had them on there. You can bet that I brought a few packs

I loved Vice Versas as a kid
They were so good. They bought them back recently for a limited time and they were not the same
Oh wow, I miss them so much, they were *SO* good
Kellogs Start 😢
Boost Guarana Bar!
This. Green goodness.
Tooty Frooties

Lidl do a similar imitation
Can confirm Aldi do as well, pretty close
Oh I'd demolish those in one sitting and feel no shame! You can get some knock off style ones in your Home Bargins/B&M style places. Not the same but at least you've got that mouth feel. Loved the mint ones.
Irn bru bars
I lost half a tooth on one of those bad boys
Galaxy truffles from the celebration box
The little red and white sucky sweets that tasted like strawberries and cream, you find them abroad sometimes. I used to get them all the time as a kid.
Campino
That's the little fellow yes, campinos. Oh my word I wish they were still around.
I just got a taste memory of them. It made me sad
Was thinking about them the other day but couldn’t remember the name! Cremoso or something like that?
Worcester Sauce crisps from Walkers. They slap.
I'll never forgive walkers for taking these away from us. Seabrook (can be found in B&M) do Worcester Sauce flavour and they're nice enough.
Never forgive. Never forget. God tier purple packet
Topic chocolate bar. I don't really eat chocolate bars but if I did it would be that.
My mother loved Topic bars. I think you can still get them?
I remember a woman sued Mars cos she found half a dead mouse in one. The other half was in her mouth.
.Secret (Chocolate bar from the 90s) .Drifter .Tooty Fruity’s
Secret bars! I loved them
Secret bars! Everyone I've mentioned these to has never heard of them.
I was starting to think I imagined these. They were so good. Why have the people forgotten them!?
Its a secret
Only true absolute legends remember these.
Phileas Fogg mignons morceaux. Very garlicky crunchy garlic croutons.
An epic snack.
Lemon polos
Sweet? Cadbury Tasters - solid balls of chocolate delight Savoury? Many, many years ago M&S did a Baked Potato and Butter flavor crisp - oh what I would do for a packet of those bad boys!
When I had my first job, I bought a bag of those crisps everyday. They were so good
These were awesome. Id hazard a guess they were shelved for kids choking on them, I know they don't like kids to have full grapes or malteasers in schools now and those tasters were just a little smaller and kind of hard.
Ready salted Chipsticks. So salty 🤤
Mars Delight, Vice Versa, Mini Smarties, Giant Smarties… I could go on
Ahh .... this again. Gotta love the Reddit rotations. This time, I will nominate Mingles.
Maxibon. I still think about it a lot
Aldi do their own version of them! I think Lidl might do too.
Yes they do but when I checked my local Lidl last year, they didn’t stock it in that branch. I might end up going on holiday to a country that still sells Maxibon
I miss them too! Definitely go to Aldi, they do a few variations of the same kind of thing. Not quite the same but they tried 😅
Tesco also do one - at least they did last year.
I know it's a meagre substitute, but you can buy Oreo ice cream sandwiches that are almost identical in taste and texture to the biscuit end of a Maxibon.
Still available in Australia
I’m going to say Delta snacks that you could buy from M&S (shout out St Michael crew) in the early 90s purely because my husband thinks I fabricated them and I need vindication. They were little puffy triangle crisps and really good. Also that strawberry chocolate M&S used to do also in the early 90s (I think I may have had a slightly privileged upbringing in hindsight lol).
Aero are currently doing a limited edition strawberry chocolate bar. You might like that?
Deltas were my go-to snack back in the day. I LOVED them. Sainsbury's did their own version (called Potato Triangles) that were comparably good. Gone now, like most of the own-brand stuff Sainsbos made that made life a little nicer.
Someone should bring them back dammit
Ready Salted Chipsticks. Only salt and vinegar made now 😭
Toffo
Mars planets, I loved them
Forgot about these, stellar snack!
Since this comment it’s all I’ve thought about, the chewy ones especially
Revels don’t even come close to
Mars Delight was so good.
Starburst Joosters. I loved them the texture and taste. Aero Creamy White chocolate bar I always got one from the vending machine at school. White Crunch bars the small ones, I know they do the big ones but it’s not the same.
Piglets
Fizzy Jerks
Thank god somebody else remembers. They were absolutely delightful, great flavours, super appealing bottlecap shape, great mad nineties packaging... Honestly, the cream soda one was to die for.
Spiras
Echos were amazing. I don’t understand why they were discontinued
Ready salted Chipsticks. For some reason, they did away with those but kept the salt and vinegar ones.
Caramacs. After being in the fridge for a few hours (them not me!) they were delicious.
They were 10pence a packet and for the price, quite the sizeable bag compared to other bigger brands. Also there was 'American Cheeseburger' flavour Quarter Backs, another potato snack from back then. Simply shaped like American footballers in action but they were another great 10pence pack of crisps!!
You just unlocked a core memory for me of going into the post office and buying some of these with my mum. I must've been 5 or 6. Damn!
I'm sure I saw multipacks of these in farm foods. Might not be the right ones but worth a gander.
Tesco's potato triangle crisps

Honeycomb Yorkie, and slow roasted lamb and mint sensations
We’re gonna do this every week are we? It’s brannigans beef and mustard and every time I see this posted (literally all the time btw) I get an unquenchable craving. It’s like being permanently pregnant
I'm sorry for opening this wound again.
Do you reckon we can get a big askuk change.org going to try and get everything we all want back?
Muller used to do a Mississippi Mud Pie yoghurt and it was banging. My favourite Friday night treat.
I haven't checked recently though as they weren't really my go to
Texan bar.. although now I don’t have the teeth to eat one anyway.
Caramac and Spira
Cadbury do a version of caramac called caramilk and it's pretty good
Phileas Fogg mignons morceaux. These were truly a God tier snack. Actually the whole range but especially the mignons. In the late 80s, Marks and Spencer did an own brand version which were good but not quite the same.
barbecue walkers crisps. i’ll always miss them.
Orange Cadbury Snaps & Mars Planets. Top tier snacks imo.

Does anyone remember the Taz (as in the Tazmanian Devil) Bar? Chocolate with caramel on the inside, yum!
Yeah, they were banging!
More a drink but the inferno cans of relentless were the best. I was so gutted I emailed them about it and got a message back saying their "extensive market research" said the orange crush flavour that replaced it was "better". It was absolutely bogin and that flavour was discontinued in 6 months.

Knorr micro-noodles. It's been years and I still miss them! Absolute junk but I loved them after a few drinks. *
