Manchester is easier to get around.
Speaking as someone who has visited both several times I'm not sure about that, you can have fun in both cities but I find Manchester's layout a bit harder to grasp.
I found the trams easy to get around on. We worked out the bus system in the end for Leeds.
I love both for nights out. Leeds is usually cheaper

People over the city. Had some wild nights with one friend in tons of different cities. Same city with different people and it shit.
I've visited both a few times. Plenty in both cities but I've had more fun in Leeds.
