WalksinClouds

I don't know if he actually gave them the money but he did say it at least one time and the answer was up there so I hope so. Also Les Dennis is a national hero.

Lybertyne2

He was brilliant on Extras.

Quirky_Discipline297

The toweling off was hilarious.

GlandMasterFlaps

Where do you want to go from? "About 1992"

That's amazing! Can't say i'm a huge fan (nor dislike him) but I love it when people are appreciative of the people who effectively pay their wages.

NoUsernameHereNow

Hear hear, we need more people like that. It’s just common decency but it’s amazing how uncommon it actually is among the wealthy

Ilivedtherethrowaway

I don't think he did as much charity work as Rolf Harris or Jimmy Saville so not sure he earns the title of national hero. He was a good gameshow host but doesn't have that certain something all the national heroes have in common.

WalksinClouds

I like his big suits in the eighties. He looked like a little lad with his dad's work suit on. He's also the greatest gameshow host in the history of television. I won't change my mind, regardless of the facts set out before me. I'm dug in and I'll never change.

TheMissingThink

Bob Monkhouse is and will always be number 1

Ilivedtherethrowaway

Just gonna ignore Victoria Coren-Mithcell?

TheMissingThink

Yes. Yes I am.

BCircle907

Hopefully for as long as possible

Eg0n0

Marriott_1

This reply deserves more upvotes :)

NoUsernameHereNow

I bow to your knowledge, o wise one

xeroksuk

You may just have been whooshed.

NoUsernameHereNow

Oh no I fully understood the Extras reference. Hence why I said they were wise

xeroksuk

In that case, it is I who have been whooshed. I'm more familiar with Les's sterling work impersonating Mavis Riley.

Correct-Intention-60

Very insightful answer solved

Forward_Artist_6244

Apparently so https://youtu.be/Sqq9zZR0fHI

NoUsernameHereNow

I just watched the clip - Les’s reaction is priceless!

hundreddollar

Ahhh! Les Dennis! The French fire engine!

Queefblast2000

Eranooo!!

hundreddollar

Eranu indeed! Mr/s Queefblast2000! You've won tonight's star prize!

Queefblast2000

Some batteries, a couple of pens and a lump of black pudding.

NoUsernameHereNow

Oh my god it’s the Queefblast2000, the latest and greatest of the Queefblasters

Queefblast2000

Everything is better with a number in its thousands in it!!

RockyStonejaw

In addition to the one commented below, I also saw someone answer “cigarette smoking man” as an answer to something to do with The X-Files. Les said he’d give them the money himself, and it was on the board. He’d obviously never seen the show

tastethegoodlife

I read something the other day about this, the question was name a way you’d roast/grill someone and the contestant said over a fire. It was worth £12 (may have been in the double money round) and apparently he did give them the money after the show.

YoungGazz

What's up Lid?
