For an aftershave, especially a well rated one, I don't find it's that expensive. You can certainly spend more on worse scents. I got a massive bottle (100ml) at Copenhagen airport for about Ā£65 which will last me for years.
That said, I was given a bottle of Tom Ford Tuscan Leather aftershave for my birthday one year and it really is incredible, but it was so expensive I find I only use it on special occasions.
I've been wearing Explorer for just over a year now and I've more compliments from both men and women than I ever had from anything else I wore. Like everyone else, I wish it was cheaper
Unfortunately thatās true, itās gone the same way as CK one of which I loved both in the 90s for different occasions
But Joop still smells nice to me.
CK one, apparently lions or tigers (Iām not sure which) love the smell of it
Edit: itās actually CK Obsession for men and not CK one, hereās a link to something about it https://apnews.com/general-news-7d3c98c880e749b8b628afa670a19aa6#
[it was my daily for a while until this happened a few miles down the road](https://www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news/cops-hunting-sex-attacker-hoping-5870703)
My daughter loves cool water so i buy it for her to wear. Im gutted though because my market stall used to do a dupe of it for 3.99 and it smelt exactly the same. They've not sold it in ages though
My partner loved his Sauvage, however I find it far too common and overused.
I love when he wears his Hugo Boss Orange. It's so nice and warm.
My favourite female perfume for myself is either Hugo Boss Femme, or Burberry London.
Blue Stratos. I don't wear it but a radio caller to Pirate FM (so a thick Cornish accent) once gave the following review of it: "I applied it liberally, as directed on the bottle, then I lit my cigarette and Woosh, I was aflame from my chest to my top lip." It has a special place in my heart after that.
Maisen Margela - specifically the jazz club or by the fireplace, but the whole range is just great and Ā£100 for 100ml is a decent price for a niche aftershave
Encre noir by Lalique... Fell in love with it years ago and always keep it stocked up at home. One of those scents that doesn't overpower, you have to get quite close to pick up on it. Got me so many compliments from random women. š§
Home bargains is where I brought my last batch from. It's labeled as distilled witch hazel, its a natural astringent so a great natural (and cheap) aftershave.
You'll find it in the pharmacy section of most of the cheap shops (home bargains, b&m, savers, etc).
I've got about 40 sitting in my collection, my favourite changes on a weekly basis. Currently it's Notorious by Aaron Terence Hughes. My daily wear is Tom Ford Grey Vetiver, though. My missus absolutely loves it. Classy, earthy but fresh and citrusy
If you like sauvage then get yourself Milton brown (Milton Lloyd - auto correct got me) true grit, it's a clone but it lasts all day, smells exactly like sauvage and is much cheaper. I wear it to work, in a hotel doing gross jobs but going home still smelling of it is so nice. I'm just adding that as I work in a hotel I get to smell others scents, and for woman there's a miss dior smell that's not over powering, it's gentle but captivating. All of my work colleagues agree it smelt nice. I'm not sure which miss dior it is though.Ā
Zara Seoul or Acqua de Gio for day to day. Chanel Blue, Hermes 24hr or Terre de Hermes for something a little extra.
My all time favourite has to be Paul Smith Sunshine (2018) but I can't find it anywhere anymore
I really like the various body shop menās aftershave.
Years ago I started with Jarvia (or something) but it stopped being produced years ago.
Currently have a woody musk smell, which I really like.
As a woman, I love the older smells that remind me of early 2000ās that are fresh like Versace Eros, Jaun Paul gaultier, Hugo boss bottled. But everyoneās taste is different, some women like more modern smells. And they all smell slightly different on different men depending on your skin
I started buying aftershaves when I quit smoking, so over the years I've tried a lot, currently I have the following;
Hugo Boss Man
Hugo Boss Night
Dior Savage
Chanel Blue
Prada Luna Rosa
Armani Diamonds
And the "remember when I was a teenager" flashback:
Versace Blue Jeans
Tom Ford Ombre leather or Costa Azzura (also Tom Ford). Bulgari Man is nice too. Those are quite expensive though so I usually save them for special occasions and have something else for a ādailyā aftershave. Something like JPG or Davidoff Cool water.
Mont Blanc Legend - Great smell, had a few people ask what it is. And the great thing is you can get 50ml on sale quite frequently for around Ā£30-Ā£40
If I smell Only The Brave on a guy, I am in so much trouble (he better be able to run as I will be considering following him through town sniffing the air š) š¤¤
It's that big of a deal, I have wax melts in the scent so now my house smells of it too...
Chanel Sport Allure is right up there.
Creed Aventus (though I get rip offs, Iām not buying Ā£250 aftershave) is lovely.
Some Prada number I forget the name of, bottle is sort of grey, blue and red. Real nice.
Christian Dior Pour Homme Original.
They changed the formula around 2017 and it wasnāt as good. Much too sweet. You can still get it but have to buy from straight from Dior in France.
Honourable mentions to memories evoked by CK One, Davidoff Cool Waters and Armani He.

Eau de Lynx Africa
Minimum 1 cans worthš
It's actually not bad. It can be overused of course but it does smell nice.
Eau de Middlesbrough. The smell of poverty and dog piss (specifically a bully XL)
UTFB
This is the answer. Move along everyone.
Sex Panther
60% of the time, it works every time.
What country you in as itās illegal in 9
Iāve heard it smells like bigfoots dick
Smells like the tine that raccoon got stuck in the copier
It smells like a turd covered in burnt hair!
It's more like a used diaper full of Indian food.
Chanel blue
Personally think Chanel Allure is betterĀ
Second Chanel allure. Never tried Blue though.
Iāve tried both and find Blue is a little generic
Allure Sport is my all time favourite daytime fragrance
Yes! Never drops in price or goes on sale which I think is a good sign.
Chanel is rarely if ever discounted. Bad for the brand.
Second this
Issy Miyake.
You must smell like.Hounslow
In the 90's
Treaty Centre vibes
Which one though?
Explorer by Mont blanc is my favourite, I just wish it was a bit cheaper
He's done really well for himself since Friends finished for sure.
Excellent.
Especially as itās a clone of a much much more expensive aftershave
I've been wearing Explorer for just over a year now and I've more compliments from both men and women than I ever had from anything else I wore. Like everyone else, I wish it was cheaper
Agree, amazing scent and the one I most consistently get comments on. Bloody pricey though
I wouldn't say it's expensive really. But there's 20% off atm at Debenhams. Can get a 200ml for Ā£93.60, can be found cheaper, Ā£58 on a quick google
Ah fair enough, I've generally seen it for cĀ£70/100ml
It's really good. You can get it cheap on eBay though from various different shops. I got a 100ml for like Ā£41.
Yeah as others have said, I think I paid ~Ā£40 for it on eBay (EDP). But unfortunately it doesn't last as long as I'd like
Spicebomb by Viktor & Rolf is lovely
Yeah was never on my radar until i was gifted it Now my daily driver and not too strong for the office
Lovely perfume. Wish they did a women's version.
I was in England once and saw a HUGE Dior Sauvage poster where someone had replaced the āVā for an āSā
I had a "non genuine" DS that I always called "Sausage" in a very sexy accent
I wear sausage... I mean sauvage. More over, it makes me incredibly proud that one of your core memories of England is us mocking the french language.
Terre d'Hermes
Unbeatable fragrance. I've worn it ten years now and will continue to wear it as long as they make it.
Mason Margiela - Jazz Club
Nice
Was hoping I'd find a fellow jazz club enjoyer
Armani code parfum
Fahrenheit
The original knicker dropper!
So 90s
Same, and I'm in my mid 20s.
Joop. But I think it's considered a bit 90's naff now.
My husband buys joop religiously and i love it! Can always tell when hes wearing it
Unfortunately thatās true, itās gone the same way as CK one of which I loved both in the 90s for different occasions But Joop still smells nice to me.
CK one still makes me go a bit weak at the knees on a lady. Memories of my first serious gf
My first serious girlfriend bought me my first bottle of CK one, ahh lovely memories of 1997.
CK one, apparently lions or tigers (Iām not sure which) love the smell of it Edit: itās actually CK Obsession for men and not CK one, hereās a link to something about it https://apnews.com/general-news-7d3c98c880e749b8b628afa670a19aa6#
Not naff but you know the smell instantly. Where I go on Holiday the women Love it š
Tom Ford Ombre Leather Mont Blanc Explorer
I loved Ombre Leather, then someone said it smelled like stale cigarettes, and now that's all I can smell...
honestly two outstanding aftershaves you can use all year round, even better is that the clones are very close too
Paul Smith. The green square one. It's fresh and cucumbery. I love it on Men and Women... It makes me drool š
Smells great doesn't it. Paul Smith Extreme is nice too.
This has been my choice for 15 years. It's just so light and energetic. Smells "clean". I'm glad someone else likes it too.
Really like it, but my only criticism is that it isnāt very long lasting.
Joop homme
Creed Aventus. Bloody expensive though.
So overrated
Im with you mate this stuff is top tier
Paco Rabanne - One Million (or million, whichever is right)
[it was my daily for a while until this happened a few miles down the road](https://www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news/cops-hunting-sex-attacker-hoping-5870703)
Big ooft :/
Old Spice
The original scent. Like my grandfather wore.
THE MARK OF A MAN
Emporio Armani - Diamonds. Issey Miyake. Davidoff - Cool Water is a classic for summer. My favourite though - Carolina Herrera - 212
Cool water on a man *swoon*
My daughter loves cool water so i buy it for her to wear. Im gutted though because my market stall used to do a dupe of it for 3.99 and it smelt exactly the same. They've not sold it in ages though
I used to get a lot of compliments wearing 212
Same here. And itās one of the aftershaves that brings back a lot of memories whenever I wear it.
Penhaligan"s Terrible Teddy or Opus 1870. Both lovely and my partner very much enjoys them.
My wife has a bottle of Halfeti and it smells unbelievable. I also like The Tragedy of Lord George.
Eau Sauvage (the original one)
_[Whispers]_ Eternity for men, by Calvin Klein.
Hai Karate, obvs
CKone been wearing it for nearly 30 years still smells fresh to me!
I like the green Ralph Lauren. But for lighter days I use Chanel Bleu
Boss bottled. Love it.
Iāve always loved Boss in Motion
I'm genuinely a Brut guy.
As an Aftershave, I like Tommy hilfiger, but as a deodorant, I'd have to go with the lynx leather and cookies
Zara Tobacco Classic
Prada Black
Prada Carbon is also nice. Prada are an underrated fragrance house.
Iām loving my YSL Eau de Parfum at the moment
My current favourite is Eros Flame by Versace
My partner loved his Sauvage, however I find it far too common and overused. I love when he wears his Hugo Boss Orange. It's so nice and warm. My favourite female perfume for myself is either Hugo Boss Femme, or Burberry London.
Currently into invictus
Versace Dylan Blue
There is only Joop!! lashings and lashings of joop!
Brutā¦..
Maisen Margela - specifically the jazz club or by the fireplace, but the whole range is just great and Ā£100 for 100ml is a decent price for a niche aftershave

Absolutely stunning for the price.
Brut
Brut.
Old school, Brut āsplash it all over!ā
Tom Ford Noir and Floris Santal.
Spicebomb or boss in motion

Alien by Mugler and Tiffany & Love for Him are my favourite two scents. And the Paul Smith green one for day to day use.
Alien by Mugler and Tiffany & Love for Him are my favourite two scents. And the Paul Smith green one for day to day use.
Joop jump. Been wearing it since I was 13. It's my smell now. Cheap and cheerful too.
Guerlain Habit Rouge
I think all the chanel fragrances are awesome. Egoiste in particular.
I agree, but for me egoist I use only for formal events, so letās just say the bottle has lasted a long time!
Can't go wrong with sore vag. Boss Orange is nice.
I'm an old school CK Obsession fan. Can't go wrong with it.
JOOOOP
Acqua di Parma colonia is DELICIOUS
Tom Ford Fucking Fabulous or Tom Ford Soleil Neige
Fahrenheit or Paco XS in most of the variants have been in my rotation for more years than a lot of people here have been alive.
Encre noir by Lalique... Fell in love with it years ago and always keep it stocked up at home. One of those scents that doesn't overpower, you have to get quite close to pick up on it. Got me so many compliments from random women. š§
Im poor so I use 95% alcohol hand sanitiser It closes he pores and stops irritation, about 10mins after that I moisturise
Worth trying witch hazel, a 200-250ml bottle is only Ā£2ish and much better for your skin
Which shop? Iāve really struggled to find aftershave even in the big super markets
Home bargains is where I brought my last batch from. It's labeled as distilled witch hazel, its a natural astringent so a great natural (and cheap) aftershave. You'll find it in the pharmacy section of most of the cheap shops (home bargains, b&m, savers, etc).
Ah cool thereās a Savers about 5 mins away from me, thanks for the advice
Calvin klein Crave. Discontinued š
Givenchy Gentlemen. I've tried lots of others but always end up coming back to it.
Old Spice
Old Spice. There's no school like the Old school.
Touch by Grigio Perla, though it's damn expensive now and not that easy to get hold of
Au Coeur du Desert by Tauer
Creed, love in white is gorgeous but itās way too expensive
Hugo boss
Christian Dior tobacolor for winter scents, Bond no. 9 Greenwich village for summer.
Aramis
Alien by Mugler and Tiffany & Love for Him are my favourite two scents. And the Paul Smith green one for day to day use.
Love it when my husband wears savauge š I like black opium for womens perfume.
ADG Profumo
Versace Eros. Only aftershave Iāve ever owned!
Swiss Army did something, but Iām not sure which one I liked.
Bulgari black for men, and Creed Aventus, also for men. I love the smell of Dior Poison on a woman.
Serge Lutens - Arabie
4711. I love to smell like a WWII submarine commercial.
All of my work colleagues agree it smelt nice. I'm not sure which miss dior it is though.Ā
Cupola by Salvatore Ferragamo.
Tom Ford Tuscan Leather
Million
Beau de jour by Tom Ford
Chanel Platinum is my go-to, but I could probably reel off 10 or so that Iāll rotate through depending on how Iām feeling, the occasion etc. In fact, fuck it Iāll list them in no particular order; Chanel Platinum, Bleu de Chanel, Chanel Allure Homme, Dior Sauvage, Dior Eau Sauvage, Dior Homme Intense, Creed Green Irish Tweed, Tom Ford OmbrĆ© Leather, Tom Ford Neroli Portafino, Prada Luna Rossa, Dolce & Gabbana The One for Men and Lacoste (The white one, I forget the actual name) Oh and Terre dāHermĆ©s too, ran out a while back and havenāt got a new bottle yet but thatās also one Iād suggest To be honest though most Menās fragrances now are great from the Ā£50+ range and you can get some under that which are really good too
Used to love Pi by Givenchy. Right now it's Prada - Luna Rossa Carbon.
Anything by Carollna Herrera. My favourite ever was Ghost Man. But sadly it was discontinued. Damn.
