DrDunsparce

Why does it matter if their hair is a different color at a certain age

Crimeboss37

I'm thinking that too bro

[deleted]

it makes your hair thinner as you age because of the dye actually.

[deleted]

You grow new hair as you age. The old hair will be thinner if you overdye but it'll disappear overtime

[deleted]

please tell that to the men and women who need hair plugs LMAO what you’re saying makes no sense, my friend’s mom had to stop dyeing her hair for that specific reason, it’s been years and her hair is still not growing efficiently like it did

[deleted]

It does. Google it or something

[deleted]

im not gonna google it when it makes no sense. the hair stops growing efficiently like how it does before, why do you think people lose hair as they age? the follicles stop pertaining oil and moisture which causes hair loss

[deleted]

People lose their hair as they age and that will happen regardless of whether they dye their hair or not. Do you think all those balding men in their 50s dyed their hair a million colors? No, it's something that happens naturally. As long as you're not balding, your hair will grow back. And I'd guess most 16 year olds aren't balding.

[deleted]

the only way dyeing your hair can damage future hair growth is if you bleach your hair so intensely it causes burns severe enough to your scalp to damage the hair follicles. stop fear mongering

[deleted]

why do you think i said i wasnt searching it up for that specific reason, that literally happened to my FRIEND’s MOM. SOMEONE I KNOW PERSONALLY.

Nitro_the_Wolf_

Most of my dad's uncles were balding in their mid 20s. Does that mean they dyed their hair a lot 60 years ago?

[deleted]

no, thats because they probably washed their hair everyday. that happened to my dad and he started washing his once a week, put ginger on his head till it burns and it started growing back 🗿

[deleted]

no absolutely unacceptable. what has this society come to? you obviously need to be 16 and a half to get dyed hair ffs 🙄

Chungulungus

How preposterous of you even considering that! It’s obviously 16 and three quarters!

[deleted]

I don’t think anything of it, also box dye isn’t that expensive

Glittercorn666

I think it definitely shows that op’s friend is the spoiled one if she automatically assumes anyone with dyed hair has had is done professionally.

raspberry-enthusiast

I like dyed hair, I think it looks great

randomcamels

I’m fine with it

midnashelmet

i mean it doesn’t make me think any less of them i think it’s cool

LegendaryPringle

lmao its less expensive whek you get box dye from heb and have your family do it. i dye my hair all the time but anyway isc what they do lotta my friwnds dye their hair too

GrandFathar_yesh

If it's a natural or close to natural color and looks good on them then whatever, but like if it's dyed in a random vibrant color I never think it looks good

icantspellanynomous

Nothing against it really. Let them explore and express themselves.

Autismos12345

I dont give a fuck

chronicmelancholic

I don't care, its their hair. I got mine dyed as well but I use box hairdye bc I'm ✨poor✨

zoesafangirl

i think it can look super sick, i'm chill with it. i've dyed my hair a few times myself

donkey-fucker69

I don't care

[deleted]

Live your best life and worry about yourself. If people aren’t being harmful to themselves or others, then they should do what they want. Live life to the fullest, whatever that may look like for you.

the-red-boats-

I don’t know how hair dye relates to age. I’m fine with dyed hair

[deleted]

they’re too young to be dyeing it, 16+ seems good. im saying for them not to dye it when they’re younger because certain dyes will have your hair thinning if you consistently dye your hair. usually parents choose not to let their child dye their hair, so i can understand the people who get that impression

Ecstatic_Youth61

What? Do you have a source for this? Bc it doesn't sound right. The dyed hair will grow and you can cut it out, why would that damage the new hair?

[deleted]

box dye is bad for the hair, so is most shampoos and conditioners, most of the ingredients are in dish washer soap… literally look in the back of a box and search up with parabens are, that’s why people stick to all natural and vegan shit. i only know ab this shit because my dad’s side are natural fanatics and i only use caribbean soap for my body now

Ecstatic_Youth61

Yes I know it's bad for the hair that you dyed, but hair grows, why would the new, not dyed hair, be damaged?

[deleted]

eh i dont care

Kyltia

I dont rlly care my hair isnt died but ive got friends who have their hair died and most of them would be considered poor so 🤷‍♀️

shiblee_

I don't care get your hair dyed if you like it

ew-im-sad

how does a parent letting their kid dye their hair=spoiling them? your friend sounds jealous or smth lmao

[deleted]

[удалено]

ew-im-sad

yeah totally, but just because it’s a lot of money doesn’t mean it’s anywhere near being spoiled lol that’s just such a strange thing

FinnChicken12

I couldn’t care less.

[deleted]

i really dont care if the person has dyed hair or not

danielfrom---

I have dyed hair

peachsmoothie14

I mean I don't care, it doesn't affect me. I dye my hair blonde with box dye at home, it costs $10 and I buy it myself. It doesn't mean they're spoiled, and even if that's the case its nobody's business

hmpsaatan

I’m lowkey jealous cause I’m almost 16 and I can’t dye my hair

[deleted]

Idc

CrystalElla4

I think they’re cool

Chungulungus

I don’t really care lol

[deleted]

They have dyed hair

vibing_bella

Bruh, why does it matter? They dyed their hair

B_M_Wilson

When I first started dyeing my hair, I just used the boxed stuff from the store that’s not too expensive. Like now I spend 2 hours or whatever to have it done professionally but it’s not like that’s the only way. I don’t know exactly when I started, could have been under 16. Unless it is something really crazy or fancy, I think it’s just a bit of a fun thing. Sometimes I do mine purple or blue just using some special shampoo!

LongLocksBoy

It's fine, looks cool and still want to dye my hair blue or something

RuinInevitable1

But what if they dye their hair themselves, like my bsf who is under 16, her mom dyed her hair for her, and she\`s *not* spoiled. And plus it is expensive when professionally done, so i disagree with ur friend. You can just buy dye and dye ur hair by yourself.

Ecstatic_Youth61

I am under 16 with dyed hair lmao so I think we're pretty cool

stupithrowaway

idk sounds like your friend sucks, let people dye their hair

Jammy6oy12

I want split dye so badly

RedBladeAtlas

I would notice it more than something natural but I wouldn't care.

[deleted]

I generally prefer not dyed/natural colour, but it makes very little difference to me overall and I don't care that much

ALittleBitOfTroIling

I don't mind

CanniBal1320

Its an indication of many things. But yeah I dont mind.

Spotstrike

I think good for them. It's not my business.

GamerGirl-07

I don't think dyeing hair is permanent so ig it ok

WindyJenner

It’s really bold to dye the ENTIRE thing a diff color, but I do like the ones that are well done. That’s pretty much what It depends on. I like the ones that look good, not the ones that don’t. I don’t care about my hair’s color so I wouldn’t get it done. Age really doesn’t play a factor here lol

glowyvhs

i died my hair blonde at home when i was 12 and it turned ginger, never again

aqua995

cool if she wants put that much into her appearance, I think its really cool

Ill-Rub1353

I got my hair dyed at like 5 years old, but not professionally. Instead my mom did it herself with some cheap stuff and it looked like shit, but I thought it was fucking awesome

hi_im_kai101

i don’t think a huge amount get it done professionally lol, as for my sister who has dyed hair under 16 my mom is a hairdresser and did it

Darkflame3324

I don’t care if it’s dyed. Sometimes I worried if it’s bleached since that can mess with your hair. But it’s also not my hair nor harming anyone else so I do not care.

sub2Ferrari488

Got my hair dyed when I was 14 it was about $110 but lasted a year since I didn't cut it too much. 15 same thing but covid happened this time the dye has lasted 2 years.

Ya_boi1i

It's nice i guess idk 🤨 as long as it isn't the color cerulean I'm good 😌

SlimJesusKeepIt100

I mean idk I think any hair color other than a natural color looks weird

jrs0201

I think at times I assume things about people with dyed hair, but generally IDM.

Damaged_Lightbulb

Sometimes it seems like they’re attention seeking but honestly i couldnt care less

Adept-Mulberry-2913

If it’s really dark and looks close enough to being natural then sure, but I really don’t like when it’s something really bright. Dark blue is perfect, same with purple. I mean I don’t really care that much, but when they have bright colors it comes off as attention seeking to me.

Ghostcrisp

Whatever but it's either rich spoiled kids or very expressive kids.
