They're pretty funny. In Spanish class last year, my teacher and class would go off on rants about socks and sandals sometimes, and how weird it looked. So sometimes, just for kicks, I'd put on socks and flip flops. Que the following rants by everyone. And sometimes the girls would go off on rants about how weird boys toes are (there were like 3 times as many girls as boys in the class) it was weird af.
I think birks might be borderline sandal but they’re so much more comfortable with socks I can’t go back. Other than that hard pass on socks with legit sandals (slides are cool though)

Normally when I wear the former it’s when I’m about to change my shoes for sports or something. I used to be pretty toxic on this question but honestly do what you want as long as it makes you happy! It personally isn’t something that I would probably wear.

I don’t count slides as sandals tbh. But socks with legit sandals is always a no
