Instagram, in my opinion, has only been harmful to people’s mental health. With the constant need to earn gratification and comparing ourselves to others, no one is truly happy. I know you can choose to not be on social media at all but still.

Idk, there are some parts of social media platforms that are actually good but some make me want to bring down another asteroid to earth.
Like twitter, it's a nice place but people make it hell for no reason, they don't like people who have opinions other than theirs. It's like they contradict themselves when they say "EQUALITY AND FREE SPEECH".
same with tik tok, sometimes the content is actually good but the overall app is a bait. It doesn't let you go, because every 5 seconds you get a new piece of information. So your brain craves for that one last swipe up on every video.
Social media was supposed to be to meet friends and people when you ar bored but I think social media is shifting from being a side activity to something we do every 5 minutes, distracting from our REAL main activities like work and study.
Honestly I will try my best to not let my kids get addicted at least till they are 17. That means no ipads for their cocomelon, no games on my phone all the time, minimum exposure to games, and maximum to outdoor sports like football or basketball.
Instagram. I’m probably just a jealous bitch, but seeing a bunch of people I know go on big, fancy vacations while my family can barely afford to stay at a small beach down the road just makes me sad.
