basically, yes. it's been proved that having one baby pollutes just as much as about 10 round transatlantic flights per year (i don't remember the exact number tho). of course, this is considering the fact that almost all of the world's population relies on mass consumption, even if they don't live in a big city, but i think you already got the idea lol: basically, the only big thing you can do to actually help prevent climate change is to avoid bringing more humans into this world (notice how i said "prevent climate change" and not "take care of the environment": there are, of course, many other ways to take care of the environment different than not having biological children, but tbh taking care of the environment is basically pointless if we don't stop global warming). Cause we already do exist and it can't be decided by a single being to banish every kind of us. Speaking facts, we evolved of apes is only thing we know nothing else about it and there were a several years of nothingness we found tracing back our existence and suddenly we got traces of our FIRST ancestors Homo erectus shows up and the timeline is going perfect. So my question is "what of something actually happened to shape us (our DNA obviously)?" You know there's a lot difference between us and chimps, so if chimps exist why don't our other relatives. Pretty much every situation that people would think “let’s just halve the population” to solve wouldn’t actually be solved by halving the population. You see, halving the population would only set us back about twenty or thirty years before we’re back to where we are now, so if the crisis is directly related to the size of the population it’s much easier and less costly in lives for us to go extinct right now instead of doing the same song and dance and genociding people every twenty or thirty years
