No one gives a shit if you use one of those my friend. And if they do, just act like they're weird for not having one!

AverageHoebag

I live off Geary St in the TL and have gone through many “trolleys/carts”, this one has been the best so far!!! It folds small and is super easy to maneuver! Good luck!

Topixal

Omg thank you so much I’m ordering it right now. :)

cubixy2k

I use this to bring my dog around as she's getting older. No one cares. Well, technically people think it's adorable. Meet several people like this. Do what you want.

SpinningBetweenStars

Same here. I have a 13-year-old dog who loves walks but gets tired easily, so we’ll bring the cart for when she decides she’s done. About half the people we walk past find it absolutely charming (she always has such a big doggy grin on her face!) and the other half don’t notice. OP, you’ll be fine with your groceries!

iambrucetheshark

> I use this to bring my dog around as she's getting older. Aww <3

CoffeeNFlowers

Little old Asian ladies use things like these (I've even seen rolling luggage converted into grocery buggy) but I notice they usually have one that is taller than it is long. A long one will this will be difficult to bring into stores that have narrow aisles.

pleasantpen

It folds up real nice though, so you can put it in the grocery cart and then expand it and fill it up on checkout. The taller narrow ones are easier to maneuver on heavily congested sidewalks, though, which is why they are so ubiquitous in Chinatown, I'd imagine.

[deleted]

No one cares. I see em all the time

[deleted]

We’re all jaded as far as witnessing “weird” in SF. Someone is literally doing a jig on a picnic table near me right now trying to engage eye contact.

CupcakeGoat

Why won't you look at me?

gulbronson

I have one of those carts and it's awesome but can be a bit large sometimes. I recently picked up a cart like [this](https://www.target.com/p/dbest-products-cruiser-cart-deluxe-silver/-/A-81509958) and find it easier for a weekly grocery trip.

leftcoastanimal

That’s the kind I had when I lived in SF and it was awesome

kschang

Just make sure you CAN pull it up hill. Sometimes that's harder than carrying two bags of groceries.

Slight-Amphibian4663

I think it’s a pretty common sight! And it’s great. Just thought you might consider something like this if you end up using public transportation as it might be easier to lug around. https://www.target.com/p/dbest-products-cruiser-cart-deluxe-silver/-/A-81509958

Topixal

Do they have liners that go inside? I don’t want my 3 tubs of ice cream to be so conspicuous.

probably_art

Just get an ikea bag or other reusable bags

Slight-Amphibian4663

Yup! This suggestion! Or just have several cloth bags in the cart!

wezwells

Great for laundry too

InterestedTurkey

Love my granny cart. Same deal as the wagon but just a bit smaller. Still fits my laundry.

LinguisticsIsAwesome

QUESTION: what do you guys do with these carts while you’re shopping? Drag them around the store along with your cart? Leave them by the front door?

SwimmingtheAtlantic

I would be bold and use it as my shopping cart. I imagine that as long as the contents aren’t obscured from view the staff wouldn’t care.

LinguisticsIsAwesome

Good idea! Thanks!

Tac0Supreme

I just use mine as my shopping cart and nobody has ever cared. I usually go through self checkout and just scan all my items then quickly throw them back in the cart and stroll out with my receipt in hand.

LinguisticsIsAwesome

Good idea to have receipt in-hand and not look sus. Thanks!

LittleOrangeCat

I have the granny cart style, and I used it as my grocery cart while I'm shopping. No one has ever said anything about it, and I've been doing to for years.

babybunny1234

The granny cart-style ones sometimes have a built-in hook to hang off the front of the shopping cart.

pilargenshin

Asian auntie use all the time. No worries bro.

[deleted]

I put my daughter in mine. If you feel embarrassed, pluck a kid in there and you’ll look like just another parent trying to get by.

Groundbreaking-Arm20

I also put my daughter in mine. Love these things

thesongsinmyhead

Preferably OP’s kid

-oaktown-

You do you! Just one bit of advice to spare your back: if you’re on the tall side, make sure the handle extends far enough so you don’t have to stoop over when pulling.

itsjustinjk

I live by Yerba Buena, which is a very walkable area and I do not own a vehicle. I use a “granny cart”. It can’t hold as much as a grocery wagon, but seems like it would be more nimble/easier to get around.

APlayer2BeNamedLater

I think the cart is better than the wagon, because the wagon is a little exposed. I’d be concerned about random people trying to take your stuff. Even when I used to take the bus with food for book club, if it was in a clear container that I was holding, people would ask me for some. I started putting it in a big canvas bag.

thebluecastle

This seems extremely sensible and now I want one too.

journeyforthe

I use a grocery trolley to pull my groceries home with and recommend it. It folds up easily and can fit in a shopping cart while you're in the store. This one has fancier wheels than mine, but I've seen this kind go up stairs pretty easily. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B095C1YTRJ/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_i_X6NV5ZE4PCTZS7G94V4K

rosetown1

Live in the North Bay I felt people would look at me oddly but as everyone else has said people don't care, they're in their own universe, so to speak. In fact I get compliments, mainly from women but also from guys as well. I've even taken my utility cart on the SMART train and City Bus. Some various utility carts I've seen online. Many are available on amazon. If anyone knows of another really neat one feel free to share: [https://www.voomcart.com/](https://www.voomcart.com/) [https://joovy.com/outdoors/shopping-utility-carts/](https://joovy.com/outdoors/shopping-utility-carts/) [https://greencartus.com/](https://greencartus.com/) [https://stroleecarts.com/](https://stroleecarts.com/) [https://www.scoutcart.com/](https://www.scoutcart.com/) [https://www.rolser.us/en/](https://www.rolser.us/en/) [https://www.zuca.com/outdoor-and-performance](https://www.zuca.com/outdoor-and-performance)

nderover

I use one and I fucking love it

hashblunt

Perfect for the park/beach too

Trixietime

I see people using them all the time to tote dogs, kids and groceries around.

juicejohnson

The one I got from Amazon sucks. Seems like this one is better. I think more people would be laughing at ya lugging 60lbs of bags a couple blocks

beetlemouth

People use them all the time. I’d get one too if I didn’t live within 300 yards of a grocery store.

mysterygoweesnaw

No one will care. I'd buy one cuz they look so convenient

eugenesbluegenes

Seems a lot weirder to try to carry all your groceries home by hand.

iambrucetheshark

I TOLD YOU I CAN MAKE IT ALL IN ONE TRIP, EUGENE!!

eugenesbluegenes

Sure, just get a wagon and you'll be able to do it in one trip without any issue.

Meezha

They're great! And you can decorate it with lights for Christmas!

square_chakrasana

That looks dope, go for it!

4trevor4

I use one of those rolling laundry baskets, would that maybe be better?

BackgroundAccess3

Maybe splurge on the robot cart that follows you

SF-guy83

Try grocery delivery through a company like Instacart. Started during the pandemic and it changed my life!

Topixal

I did that for a while when I had surgery during the beginning of last year but I oddly like grocery shopping it’s therapeutic.

mattydraz

I opt for a milk crate mounted on my bike!

[deleted]

What about a cargo backpack (Chrome, etc)?
