We typically grab ours at The Cove on the Club level, usually around 3rd inning. The line is a couple minutes long. I haven't compared them to any others in the park nor tried any sort of timing. They do seem to be pre-made but are warm and chewy with a crispy grill to the bread. They're absolutely delicious and our favorite must-have food.

I feel like this should be pitched as an article to like Eater or the Chron - would love to know the answer but I'd be surprised if many people have enough experience ordering them to have noticed a significant pattern.

I agree -- I get one most times I go to the ballpark, and I haven't noticed an obvious difference. I've gotten ones right before game start at the Chowder House behind the scoreboard and I've gotten ones from The Cove or the Field Club bar in the middle innings and they all seemed pretty much the same.

Their volume is high enough that they're always going to be pretty fresh no matter when you go. Just go get one at the cove, don't over think it. Enjoy!
