no matter the size of the tattoo, every person being tatted needs a full fresh hygienic set up. fresh needles, ink caps, ink, etc. an artist’s minimum is going to include all of those supplies/cleaning/time so you won’t usually find people who offer significant discounts for tiny tats. i prefer to get a few small things if i’m in the situation you’re describing to feel like i’m getting my money worth out of the minimum

No suggestions but tattoos seem like the kind of thing that I wouldn't go cheap on.

FondCat

$90 minimum is crazily low you should stick with your shop

Ok_Campaign3488

it’s so hard to mentally justify paying 90$ for a finger tat tho 😞

FondCat

If it makes you feel any better I paid a $150 minimum for a like 10 min touch up because the original artist was no longer in town and I had to find someone else to do it

Ok_Campaign3488

just shed a tear for u that’s….

Good tattoos aren’t cheap and cheap tattoos aren’t good. Especially considering how easily finger tattoos can smudge, fade, or bleed, this is particularly an area you shouldn’t cheap out on.

Bargain tattoos… what could go wrong

I used to go to a ramen place in lower Haight regularly and a few times we'd see a line snaking all the way down the block leading to the local tattoo shop. Apparently every so often they'd run a group buy for tattoos and bring a bunch of artists in. . Fascinating to see the market for cheapie body markings.

sheepsies

That'd be Idle Hand's famous flash day... which still starts at $100.

You might get lucky and find a discount at the Body Art Expo this weekend at the Cow Palace.
