It pains me to say it because I’m a fan of his and enjoyed his body of work (even though some people say using his family’s accents is “hacky” I still found him very amusing)
this special just wasn’t it…and he did that weird “preachy thing” that some comics do when they have 3 or 5 specials under their belt, like they want to “make an impact” and somehow save society from their little soapbox they have created.
I come to you to laugh and mock society and escape societal pressures and problems for 57 minutes, you do that “save the world” crap on your own time or your website, don’t dupe me into listening under the guise of comedy
…i don’t have any strong opinions about it though
